She ABSOLUTELY DID have a pending charge .. it was at the same time two underagers were named and charged. Where did it go? If it was still on the UJS it would just say withdrawn .. I can't remember where I read it .. but it was definately stated!! It was an early theory that because of said pending charge, she may have taken off on her own to avoid jail time.
I can add myself to the list of people confirming that there was a pending charge for KS's providing-alcohol-to-minors. I found it on the Magisterial District Court Docket a few months after KS disappeared. I don't recall if it was ever added to the Court of Common Plea Dockets. I used to check it now and then to see if there was any updated info that might be interesting. Since the info no longer appears, it likely means they just dismissed the case due to her disappearance.
While I think that you can always take issue with LE's reactions in missing persons cases, I have never had a huge problem with the way LE handled KS's disappearance. I think there is a lot of information they have not disclosed and I believe they have followed up credible tips to a reasonable extent. Of course, I would have preferred that the search have involved divers, but at least they did devote some time to looking into it. It isn't clear to me whether they looked at all of the areas along the shore, but if they did with the dog and the camera, that seems to be a decent effort, although it's always possible they missed something. As others have said, perhaps LE did not disclose the name of the third officer because he did not actually knock on the door - but that is just speculation.
The suggestion that the people responsible messed up the name of the lake because they were drunk does not make a lot of sense to me. If they were so drunk that they didn't know what lake they were driving to, how did they manage to leave no forensic evidence in the apartment and cars and how have they avoided being found out for this long? Having just started watching Twin Peaks again, I wonder if Amanda is largely influenced by fiction when she describes a "scary man" calling her and goes on about psychic input. I'm not saying that she didn't record a threatening person who gave info on the case, the FB-posted letter sort of proves that she did, I just wonder how much of this is based on reality.
I will say this for Amanda, it isn't that far-fetched to me that others involved would have track connections. It is my understanding that KS met CP and MR (who both have direct track involvement) through a jockey who was friendly with lots of people. I don't think that the federal investigations have much to do with this case, but it does appear that the track is sort of a social hub that connects a lot of the players in this case. It wouldn't be that surprising that someone with direct knowledge of where KS's body is would also be involved in the track. Nothing against the track, I used to bet there myself before Penn-National got really big, added a casino, and became a public company.
I like that people are going back to the beginning and looking at MR's statements about "others" in the car and looking at the timeline of people being picked up and dropped off. I've always thought that the others in the car (and/or the people KS fought with in the Hardware Bar) are key players in this case. Interesting that MR pointedly mentions others being in the car, CP doesn't mention them at all, and LE and SS seem to have consciously avoided identifying them. Plus, not that silence on the drug involvement means that it's right, but SS certainly has never come out and said that his daughter didn't sell drugs. In my humble opinion, the drug debt theory is still a viable theory, could be directly connected to the "others" in the car, and could end with KS being submerged in a body of water.
