Human skeleton found in West Manchester Twp.

A team of investigators uncovered human bones Tuesday in a small wooded area in West Manchester Township after tree trimmers found a skull there the day before, according to York County Coroner Barry Bloss.

... nearly an entire skeleton ...

... no obvious signs of trauma, and the skeleton was in "pretty good condition."

Stabley added that it was not known if the bones were those of a male or female, but he did say it was an adult skeleton. ...

... Bloss said the only person he knew of in York County currently reported missing is Tom Augustyniak, 53, of Glen Rock, who went for a walk on April 24 and never came back. ...

Tom was last seen walking towards the York County Rail Trail. He definitely could have gotten on the trail and walked a pretty good way. Here's a site with a map of the rail trail. Towards the bottom you can see Glen Rock listed on the map. West Manchester Twp. is further north, just west of the city of York. I'm interested to see what details they release.

Coroner: Skeleton found in West Manchester is from adult male

Bones found last week in West Manchester Township are those of a white male between the ages of 30 to 50, and may have remained in a wooded area undiscovered for three to 10 years, York County Coroner Barry Bloss said Monday.

He and township police Sgt. Jeff Snell, speaking at a news conference, said something was found near the bones that leads them to believe the death is suspicious.

The coroner also said the man stood 5 feet, 5 inches to 6 feet tall and had a dental implant on the roof of his mouth with several false teeth in it.

"Uncle Dude" (Robert Smithie Seward) fits the description. He is descirbed as having "many missing teeth". I suppose they would have mentioned if he had implants.

Ok, I've got one for you gals and guys. This body was found just less than a 1/4 mile from where my sister used to live. She moved away about eight years ago so this could have happened while she was still living in the area;

A forensic team on Tuesday afternoon finished collecting bones at a site in West Manchester Township where tree-trimmers first spotted a human skull on Monday, York County Chief Deputy Coroner Claude Stabley said....

Does it say in the article that it was male? I couldn't find the sex.

Here's a data base of missing Pennsylvania people. http://www.pennsylvaniamissing.com/missingpersons.html

BTW, here is an article about remains found in Lower Chanceford Twp which looks about 20 miles from there. York Co doesnt seem like a high crime area from what I'm seeing. Wonder if they're related.

York County, not so much crime. The City of York is a different story though, lots of crime.

My sister moved about eight years ago and lived less than a 1/4 mile from where this happened. It's really creepy.
