Peanut allergy related to use of soy?
http://www.nbc4.com/health/1783187/detail.html

That was really interesting to me because my nephew that has the peanut allergy is a strictly soy family.

Very informative article about the lotions/creams containing peanut oils:

Matthew nursed until he was about 9 or 10 months old, then he began to reject the breast. It was very sad, but I was actually kind of relieved because I was incredibly limited as to what I could eat while nursing him---anything off the path and he got so sick. After he weaned himself, his pediatrician put him on a regular formula, which made Matt break out in hives. Tried the soy formula, he broke out in hives. He ended up drinking goat's milk for YEARS and he really thrived on that. So he did try soy forumula---this is a very interesting link.

As an aside, he doesn't seem to react to soy now. When I was about 40 I was diagnoised with a severe milk allergy----and I've been drinking soymilk since then. Matt has certainly ingested some of it, because I use soymilk when making mashed potatoes, etc. Nobody ever told me that soy and peanuts were related.

Just so you guys know, the peanut allergy is out of control, and extremely dangerous.

I had to be hospitalized a couple years ago because of a peanut allergy. I was already an adult at the time, and grew up eating peanut butter sandwiches.

Now I cannot touch the stuff. I was informed that peanut allergies are also now developing in adults. I don't think that doctors really know what causes it, but I would bet my bottom dollar that it has to do with the entire food system being tainted, as Autumn2004 pointed out.
