Did your family have any idea of VDS, had you heard of him....no we didnt

NG: Beaten, bruised, stabbed, her neck broken.

Nancy is talking to Enrique, Stephany's brother. He's saying the family has to be strong. Showing video of Stephany's coffin being carried. NG asking him if family had any idea who Joran was. He says just found out on Internet. He says thought Stephany was kidnapped, so tried to check casino video, was told name of JVDS, wife put name into computer and find out who he was (re: Natalee). He says they became worried, search more intensely. Find out later she was dead. :cry:

We need to verify Nancy's statement about the "do not disturb sign and not to go to the room. Has anyone read this in any of the news media reports?

I've read that she was 'out' but that she was struggling with it. That her father wasn't happy about it. Can't cite where I read it at this point, though.

My brother identified her body; she was unrecognizable; her neck - it was awful.

Yes he was in Thailand for sometime. It was all caught on hidden camera. Joran had the girls believing they were going to The Netherlands to work as dancers. The women ultimately ended up being forced to have sex for money. The tape reportedly shows Van der Sloot claiming he makes over 10,000 euros for each woman he delivers.

Sorry Patty, I haven't had a chance to read anything but the early reports of his arrest today.

Beth doesn't need to hear all these details and still not know what happened to Natalie, her mind is going to go everywhere with this. I'm sure it would be easier for her to know that Natalie was drugged and then killed. It doesnt sound like thats what happened to Stephanie

I see. Of course the details are not in the criminal complaint, but I don't see anything yet that states VDS threatened or coerced Beth in some way. He has something she wants, of course - knowledge -, but it's not actually hers. It's his. If she wants it, she has to pay for it.

Unless causing emotional distress by withholding information unless paid qualifies somehow? I'm not sure I've ever heard of a prosecution for a scenario like that. Interesting.

And extorting money from the mother of his previous victim, then using that money to go to Peru and murder someone on the anniversary of the death of his previous victim. That has got to be one of the coldest things I've ever heard of. My God, I sincerely hope Beth is okay, and I sincerely hope that wasn't her money that got wired. What a monster. What he did is worse than Casey Anthony telling her mother Happy Mother's Day in court.

He needs to never be out in the world EVER again. I shudder at how evil he is. And his parents just let him run around the world with plenty of money (at least until his dad died)? WTF were they thinking? Were they just praying he wouldn't do anything bad? That has to be the most irresponsible parenting I've ever heard of, and I thought the Anthony's were the worst...

At least it seems mommy cut him off at some point this year...he should have been cut off a loooooooooooong time ago, especially before he learned how to scam it from other people. No point in cutting him this late when he could just get it from others, even murder them for it!

I really hope there's no loophole here, no freaking way he can get away this time. I will lose my mind if that happens and more people will surely die...and he is the poster child for and solid proof of the fact that throwing money at your ill behaved child DOES NOT solve their problems, it only creates more...

I did a google on Joran, Do Not Disturb etc., etc and the only place it shows up is here and what was discussed last night.

It wouldn't surprise me if drugs are found in her (Stephany's) system though. I think it's possible she was drugged and they didn't work so he was caught and in a rage murdered her. MOO
