I thought it we found out last night Peru reinstated the death penalty....If not it really doesn't matter these rich, powerful people have ways, if ya know what I mean

My understanding ...the imates pretty much run the prison on the insdie. The prison is surrounded on the outside with armed guards. I've heard people actually starve to death there and water...just cold...is only advailable a few hours a day and if youre not in the front of the line...ya don't get any. No showers. Water...that's carried in a pail, about a gallon is it, a day. If your lucky enough to get it. Lots of gangs, total pecking order. If not in a gang, starving is possible.

Last up to 4 hours...evidence found in vehicle of this date rape drug in Stephany's vehicle. Entered hotel at 5:00am, exited at 8:00am. So, the question is was Stephany completely drugged then beaten or did Stephany fight back while under the influence of this powerful drug???

They found GHB in the car so maybe Joran knows how much to give so the girl he is with feels sociable, giddy, and a little euphoric. He wasn't seen carrying Stephany into his room, so my guess is that's how he started, maybe along with some enticement, promise, etc.

The brutal beating tells me she fought back - maybe in a weakened state? Even a little bit of this drug will cause the legs to wobble and put one in a compromised state. If his intent was to kill Stephany, a little bit too much GHB would have accomplished that. Instead, he brutally beat her up and murdered her - that tells me he enjoys the violence and all that goes with it. MOO MHO

Nancy states: Paul Reynolds doesn't allude it is his family that sent the money.

I wouldn't expect Paul to confirm or deny that.

That said, it does appear to have been a sting operation. That does not mean that it had to be Beth Holloway that put up the $15k. If she contacted the authorities, (like I am pretty sure she would have) there are several ways that money could have been secured. I am praying it was not Beth's money for her peace of mind.


I saw you ask a couple of pages back wondering if the Holloways had the kind of money ($250,000) Joran was requesting. I can tell you that I happen to know they would have access to that large sum of money. However, I don't believe for one minute that Beth believed that Joran could produce Natalee's body, despite her most fervent wishes. I think she knew exactly what he was doing and that is why she contacted the FBI.

I am thinking now that we know about the extortion, that he may have taken the money to Peru, Lost the money at the tournament, told Stephanie that he had to go back to his hotel to get more money, and he really intended on robbing her. She faught back and he killed her. I know I read somewhere that she was not raped, but theres no way that I'd be able to find the link right now

It's my humble opinion that more talk on these shows should be of the current
murder of Stephany Flores in Peru and less about the death of Natalee 5 yrs ago.

Aruba doesn't deserve a mention since they wouldn't convict the murderer back then. Aruba is the past, Peru is the present.

Also why should the planned extortion sting story take front page here when we have a murder? Let's not put Beth's name ahead of Stephany. She's the victim this time.

Let's just hope Joran Vander Sloot is sent to jail in Peru to face the kind of justice he deserves!

That's interesting, because last night I heard he robbed her of 5k, so I thought the same thing then.

I watched the show Girlrilla posted about Peruvian prisions. Joran is SOL if the cell blocks are organized by home neighborhood. But I think his size will serve him well, along with his access to money, and even his soccer skills. It won't be a pleasant place, but he'll survive.

I see. Of course the details are not in the criminal complaint, but I don't see anything yet that states VDS threatened or coerced Beth in some way. He has something she wants, of course - knowledge -, but it's not actually hers. It's his. If she wants it, she has to pay for it.

Unless causing emotional distress by withholding information unless paid qualifies somehow? I'm not sure I've ever heard of a prosecution for a scenario like that. Interesting.

I assume that the charge is that he is holding the remains, in effect, as a hostage from her family.

Bashing of Aruba makes zero sense to me-in similar circumstances, with no body, I think it's a safe bet no one would be put on trial in US either.
