ng bat found in hotel room with body

why would the family google his name?

Maybe when he moved her car he threw the bat out someplace. I thought the family googled his name when they thought she was kidnapped and the casino owner told them Joran Van der Sloot was the guy seen with her.

Stephany's other brother who was on NG show last night explained the Internet search while they were trying to find her.

If she was not drugged already, I would bet he made her suffer - entire body bruised. Then the final blow.

Perhaps, he was trying to stage a failed kidnapping. Maybe, date-rape drug was used>no screaming heard. So, if knocked out>he over-killed for purpose of staging.

I would bet the head whack came first knocking her unconscious, no screams...he just kept on beating her cause he felt like it, the b!tch deserved it, in his mind and the sights and sounds of the beating excited him even more.

I really hope she never even knew what happened, struck from behind, in the head and it was lights out.

they googled his name because when they realized she was missing, they checked with the casino owner (friend of the family), saw that she was with a guy, casino had a copy of his passport, and told the family his name. They obviously googled him to find out anything they could about the guy who was last seen with their missing daughter.

I don't have a link, but an article I read this afternoon said that JVS paid his hotel for 14 days in advance before he left town, and left instructions that no one was supposed to go in the room. These are NOT the actions of an innocent man.

vandersloot is the perfect patsy. you could really get suspicous about this case especially the fact, closed casket, buried so quickly, only one brother seeing body. i wonder who owns the hotel. perfect set up for doing a disappearing act.
I know i read too many mystery books. imo

Hi, Beyond Belief. I try to follow the evidence. In the Holloway case, I argued here for years that the evidence as we knew it did not yet justify a homicide trial and that cable media were rushing to convict not only Joran, but also the Kalpoes, the entire Van Der Sloot family, Aruban officials, and the Dutch justice system. Needless, I was somewhat in the minority. (And I am somewhat given to understatement.)

In this case, my mental prison doors haven't yet locked on Joran, but I find it increasingly difficult to explain the extraordinary combination of data that has rolled in. (Some of it, to be sure, has just as quickly rolled out.) At very least, why would he abandon Lima before the tournament that was the object of the visit; flee the country, dye his hair, and travel a thousand miles before he knew he was a fugitive? If he knew mayhem had occurred in his room, why did he falsely tell the hotel clerk that he would be back and then head for the border?

The funeral yesterday was too soon, and we are used to having our top notch forensics here, so now it is making me nervous too~Hopefully the DNA under Stephany's fingernails was taken before burial.

Are the Hollywood writers beaming in on this yet? What a film this will make!

Feeling the same way...believe me I want justice served for the crimes this man has committed (including human traficking) but I do not want him being some other murderer's scapegoat! This is all very strange!!!

It's too neat, too perfect, too much evidence much too soon. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. KWIM?

This is making less sense to me with each media report and every passing hour.

Makes perfect sense to me.

He's no patsy, he's a murderer...a double murderer at that!

Autopsy conclusions: blunt trauma to neck, head and back

We need the mystery man on the survelliance interviewed and pronto!

I'm not buying the mystery man. The only one to report that was some poker blogger dude who said a reporter told him while they were hanging out in front of the hotel. Why haven't we heard of it from any other source?

I hope they have DNA otherwise, it sounds suspicious.

From what I have read so far about the criminal trials over there they won't need DNA to convict him. He is seen with her, she is found dead in his room, and he fled the country. Forensics, mystery men, fancy defense attorneys won't matter... maybe years from now if he can stay alive long enough to get to an appeal. moo

epi- we heard stabbings, beaten, one eye out, tennis racket and baseball bat. Thanks for the clarification.

I wish someone would ask if there is film footage in the hall in front of room 309. I don't think there is, just maybe the front door. Remember its a low cost hotel.

He beat her with a baseball bat.

What a chicken ****. (self edited). I haven't been able to follow closely today. Has a COD been announced yet? If not when can we expect that or do we know when we can?

At first glance it sounds like a blitz attack don't you think? Beating with a bat, stabbing, and possible asphyxiation? The first two can be done without fatal results just depends on where he hit her or stabbed her.

This son of a gun is one sick puppy and how in the world has he navigated any portion of the world's societies is just beyond me right now.

Off Topic: But my teenage daughter knows about Natalee H. and recognized JVDS when he was arrested. All of my children's life's I've tried to teach them that there was no boogey-man when they were little and there really isn't monsters. She said Mom that's one right there. She is right.

My father, brother, enrique and I went to the casino. (video)
Yes, I am the one that identified my sister's body.
We are now still proud of her - she sacrificed her life to put this killer in jail! - Wow!

Please forgive me but IMO that is absolutely bizarre for a grieving family member to say. It's not as if she put herself out there as bait to catch a killer. Supposedly these people had never even heard of the Holloway case before Stephanie was killed and now their loved one is a martyr for Natalee?!

They are better people than I will ever be. I guess.

Joran is still not back in Lima?!
