I think they have a tentative ID. Just doing more tests to back it up.
The lab can test the remaining hair to see what, if any, drugs had been given to Caylee and for how long a period of time. We will find out is Casey had been drugging little Caylee for months or just a few times. JMO
Isn't it likely that hair would have been recovered from the A's residence?
I'll bet LE has had hair samples for a while. They may not date right to the days when Caylee disappeared, but they should be recent enough to show traces of long term drugging if such a pattern existed.
In a high profile, prioritized case, DNA testing can be done in as little as 12 hours.
I agree. I do wonder, tho, if they have told the Anthony's.
I think ID is back. Held back due to crime scene and until ME determines a COD.
:waitasec:<snipped> ... I watched one of the videos a few days ago of the sifting of dirt and the one woman was chatting away, smiling, looking at her co-worker as she pushed the dirt around on the screen. The defense has a right to make sure they are paying attention to what they are doing so they don't miss anything.
It looks to me like they had a tentative ID within a few hours, based on the skull and teeth, cause of death at about 24 hours, had the initial DNA done late yesterday and will probably not announce until about afternoon on the 18th. If not, they are obviously holding back just to put the defense team in what they believe to be their "proper place". I think it's cruel for them to withhold this way. And from what I understand, other states allow observation by the experts from the other side, even work together. If they didn't I believe they should. They told the media they had a tentative ID then told the judge they didn't. But no one seems to have a problem with that. I think they have the initial test results back and it is Caylee. But I think they are double, triple and quadruple testing everything in addition to running every sort of test possible to determine COD, past history of possible drug exposure/abuse and possible DNA testing of who the father really is. I think they are going to make sure that every 't' is crossed and every 'i' is dotted, and then they're going to recheck it again. They want to ensure this case is going to be water-tight.
