North American Missing Persons Network seems to be a good source. I came across the name Marie Musial. Shes from Kings Co Bklyn Ny. Shes in NAMUS. #9584. No dental, no DNA, and no finger prints. Did she really live off the grid? Or are we dealing with lazy LE? Can someone bring her info here? Im not able to do it. Thanks in advance.

I definitely see some sort of resemblance

10 year gap between disappearance and date of murder. That's my concern with Marie.

Ya that definitely makes my brain rule them out but I suppose if someone wanted to not be found or they were some sort of prisoner it's not outside the realm of possibility. I know what you mean though

I don't think it has to be as nefarious as that. It is possible she had been missing for years~~before she encountered LISK.

More on Dina Shoemake. This info, imo, makes it unlikely she ever made it to NY.

👍I think it's really important to pay attention to that stuff. Not to be harsh, and I know anything is possible, but I've seen a lot of suggestions and even submissions that it's pretty darn obvious for one reason or another it's highly unlikely to be them. I wonder at what point is it waisting time and resources, or is it still important to suggest matches even if there's a .001% chance it might be them?

I'm with you on that. It seems like people are ignoring dates by 20 years and only looking at the sketch, which is probably a waste of time. It's too bad no one is willing to put any effort into looking for John Doe's identity, who was found 4 days after this Jane Doe. He has a medium-high chance of identification according to the namus case # 2725

I agree we need to check things thoroughly before submitting. Just curious, which submissions did you think were very unlikely (I have also seen plenty of suggestions that don't have much of a chance)? I only ask to better understand how we can all be more patient, careful and ultimately helpful.

The ones that stand out to me are cases that have a specific poi, some even jailed. The peaches case: when the person disappeared and was pregnant, but they disappeared long enough ago said fetus would be too old to be toddler doe. Also very dark skinned women or, jumping back to pregnancy, when women disappear and it's close enough to June '97 that they couldn't have a child old enough in that time.
That's just a few that come to mind. And I agree that while completely possibly the UP disappeared 20 years ago, it's not in all likelihood the most probable. Perhaps those should be bumped off the short list but not completely disregarded?

I agree. It sounds like timelines are the most commonly overlooked factor here. I personally put less emphasis on sketch matching than other factors because I've seen successful matches that had only minimal resemblance between MP and UID. I tried putting together a list of earlier suggestions (for this JD only) a few days ago. Since then a few have been submitted. I reordered the remaining ones here based on strength from what I could see. I'll try to keep this list running in the background so we don't lose track of anything possible but don't submit anyone without critically looking at all factors (because the suggestions will still be kept organized here for the future).

Bernadine Paul http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...bernadine.html Suggested by Mountain_Kat (IMO good match to submit)

Marie Musial http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/m/musial_marie.html Suggested by deedee21 (IMO not sure)

Tammie Jane Briley http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...ey_tammie.html Suggested by scotiansleuth 1/8/2017 (IMO not sure)

Susan Walsh https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/9841 Suggested by Murkywaters and deedee21 11/25/2015 (IMO not sure)

Lisa Ann Pierce https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/4490/4 Suggested by fieldnotes 1/24/2013 (IMO the timeline doesn't fit -disappeared in Nov 2000, investigators think JD was there since Sept 2000)

Kathryn Elizabeth Collins http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...s_kathryn.html Suggested by BigCityAccountant 12/22/2016 (IMO unrealistic but not implausible timeline -missing from Texas since 1981)

Billie Jo Hughes https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/10177/5 Suggested by BigCityAccountant 1/8/2017 (IMO too tall)

Monica Lynn Appleton http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...on_monica.html Suggested by Hotpotato 1/8/2017 (IMO unlikely she made it out of Texas alive but you never know)

Dina Shoemake https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/986/32/ Suggested by Hotpotato (IMO also unlikely she made it out of Texas alive...)

Maria Andreana Fogu http://www.doenetwork.org/cases-int/1792dfita.html Suggested by BigCityAccountant 12/18/2016 (IMO long shot geographically -missing from Italy in Nov 1996)

bessie created this forum for us so we could keep track of all of our submissions in one spot. It's easy to refer to before making a suggestion. http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?326826-Submissions-*NO-DISCUSSION*

We know that. I think western artist was just discussing/listing his ideas that we can bounce off each other. The point is that rather submitting people with a high probability that they aren't the UP, that we discuss it here first.
