I've got a "Who's Who" question.

Roll back up to post #805. Exactly who is the dark-haired woman with the glasses?

For no good reason, I have always assumed she was Sheila's, OP's mom's sister.

Apologies if this has been answered already; I'm just playing catchup having been distracted by a large caseload at work.

The dark haired lady that was in court most days is Diana Binge nee Bekker, Oscar's mother's sister and mother of Graham Binge.

People ask me all the time what I think of Pistorius now that I have probed somewhat into his character and life story. What I think is that he is a man of extremes: that he is driven and brave, fearful and insecure; that he is courteous and kind, rude and egotistical; that he is crazily romantic, asphyxiatingly possessive; that he is intelligent and self-contained, stupid and hot-headed.

It is Steenkamp’s tragedy and his burden that the brief events of that night of criminal madness will define him forever, destroying the reputation he once had and scarring his conscience until the day he dies. Chase Your Shadow: The Trials of Oscar Pistorius by John Carlin is published on 17th November

I've been thinking about how much mail OP is probably receiving in jail and wondering how the jail staff is coping with it. My guess is that it coming in by the bushels made up of old fans, hate mail, and those strange women who invariably come out from under their rocks to meet/marry jailed killers.

I spoke here once before regarding there now being a specific psychological term given to such women. <modsnip> That stuck in my mind and makes me smile every time I think of it. It's so suitable imo I didn't even bother to do a google for the real term.

Pistorius didn't love Reeva: Steenkamp
NOVEMBER 20, 2014 3:05AM

Mrs Steenkamp said she did not believe Pistorius loved Miss Steenkamp, 29, claiming he saw her as a "trophy"... She said the couple had been arguing "all the time" which she thought was unusual for a new relationship... "That was a slight warning... She kind of hid it from us in the beginning."

Hey guys... #RS is coming out tomorrow and there are a few special Websleuthers included in the ebook :) To those who shared their thoughts, thank you! We truly appreciate your heartfelt words.

As usual, Nick and I are very honest about our opinions and feelings... some of it will be controversial. The book is a tribute to Reeva and the way that we have done that is to create a narrative that examines our shortcomings and disappointments in life, including the painful reality of death. And exploring our dreams (some personal stories will be shared) and ultimately recognizing the importance of really living right now, not just existing, in this very short span of time that we have on Earth.

We hope that it inspires you and would love to receive any feedback that you'd like to share. You can check out a brief excerpt here:

Congratulations Lisa, you have done an incredible amount of work on this case which is very much appreciated. I look forward to reading your book. Thank you.

I was sitting in a nail salon today and asked the girl next to me where she came from as I could not recognise her accent. Her reply was that she came from Mozambique. We then talked about South Africa and how corrupt it is. She told me that she was hoping to settle in Australia due to the corruption in Mozambique too. I then asked her what she thought about the Oscar Pistorius case and she said that she thought he was guilty of murder but there would have been corruption in South Africa in this case where if you have money you can bribe people to say what you want them to.

I then asked her if she had ever seen Oscar Pistorius in person. She replied that she had seen him at Easter in 2013 sitting in a first class seat in a plane going to Mozambique and she was shocked as she had thought that he would not have been allowed to leave South Africa then. She told me that this was definitely true as she had no reason to make it up. Obviously the media had not done its homework as this could have been a big story for them.

.. then again, the fact that it wasn't reported on by the media suggests to me that she was either mistaken about the time (and confused it with his trip to Mozambique later in the year) or she was telling porkies, because there is no way the media would've let that one slide .. they would've been watching him like a hawk.

Pistorius was sentenced to five years jail last month after being found guilty of the manslaughter of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. An application by state prosecutors to appeal the conviction and sentence is to be heard on December 9.

According to reports, Pistorius was moved to the heavily-guarded B section suite of six cells from the prison hospital wing.

He is reported to have been forced to move cells at least twice, including once when another remand prisoner deliberately flooded a communal bathroom in protest, posing a slipping risk to double amputee Pistorius.

That prisoner was Etienne Kabila, who is awaiting trial for plotting to overthrow the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The plot was led by his half-brother Joseph.

Krejcir's lawyer Piet du Plessis told MailOnline that Pistorius was arranging to have his own exercise equipment moved into the prison.

He believed prison authorities made the decision to move Krejcir's equipment after becoming "over-sensitive" to reports in the South African media that his client was enjoying a luxury lifestyle behind bars.

Oscar’s uncle ‘wants to take him to Moz’

Less than a month after he paid R1 million bail money and was allowed to go home, Pistorius now wants more freedom.

Since his release Oscar, 26, has stayed behind closed doors at his uncle Arnold Pistorius’ home in Pretoria.

He had to hand over all his firearms and agree to not leave the country or drink any alcohol.

Speaking through his personal assistant, Arnold said being stuck at home is one of the first bail conditions Oscar wants changed.

“Oscar stays with me and when I travel I’d like to take him with me,” Arnold told the Daily Voice.

.. but that doesn't prove or disprove he travelled there at Easter 2013, though .. it's just what we already know, i.e. that he had that clause rescinded from his bail conditions (along with a number of other ones).

June Steenkamp is an attention seeker, that cashes in on the death of Reeva.. She has no respect for the death..

Don't know what "~rsbm~" means but with the rest I agree.

And it wasn't as if his going to Mozambique was a secret. Even before OP's appeal mid March 2013 to have Bail conditions relaxed Arnold Pistorius said he would like to be able to on business trips take OP to his farm in Mozambique to get him out of the media spotlight for a bit so the press hardly had to do any homework to know that once OP's bail conditions were lifted he was likely to travel there even if it seems he took a year to actually go there not going until Xmas 2013.

IMO it seems a coincidence that Easter Sunday was March 31, 2013 and the Appeal Bail Hearing at the Pretoria Court was held on March 28, 2013. On March 12, 2013, Uncle Arnold told the media that he would like to take Oscar with him to his farm in Mozambique when his passport was returned to him.

My guess is that the family had already planned this trip for Easter and did not want to leave OP home by himself. Roux could have assured them that there was a strong likelihood that OP would win his Bail Appeal so they could have even caught a late flight that Thursday night or early the next morning on Good Friday to Mozambique as Uncle Arnold might always go to Mozambique for Easter. Roux had probably already helped him to be able to get the right documents and permission to travel on the assumption that he would win his Appeal. It is quite possible that on Good Friday many journalists may not have been working or away themselves and no person who recognised him decided to report it to the media.

It all makes sense to me. The lady who told me is intelligent and studying her Masters Degree in Business here in Sydney and was returning from Europe but had to fly into Johannesburg first to catch another plane to Mozambique. She had to walk past him to get to her seat in First Class. She had no reason to lie about it.

I think that could be a fake Barry Roux twitter person tweeting that. I do not think that the real Barry Roux would have the hide to twitter that.

YOU'VE BEEN FRAMED... or should I say CONNED!

Well, 'spose someone has to fall for it because otherwise whoever sets these accounts up wouldn't bother unless they actually drew the unsuspecting public in! Or do you really believe a reputed officer of the court would post such a badly written and unconscionable statement about a grieving parent?

Before believing everything you read it's very wise to first check it out and in this case you can easily check the account on twitter from which the tweet emanated at https://twitter.com/Barry_Roux where you can read clearly that the account is merely a PARODY!:

June Steenkamp interview on BBC2 Newsnight last night

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04pvk01/newsnight-19112014 @ 29:34-35:21

She hopes he can get on with his life and wishes good luck to him if he can.

Unless he can bring Reeva back...........which he can't ...........she's not bothered about his life and what he does from now on.
Very diplomatic from a grieving parent...............hat's off to you June and the rest of your family.

Dignified and humanitarian in the extremist of circumstances.
