Escondido Police Need Help Locating Suspicious Man
Police: Too Early To Know If Connected To Dubois Dissappearance
Police asked for the public's help in finding a 20-something man who has been offering rides to girls walking home from school in the Oakhill area.
Three girls reported that a man in a small white compact offered them a ride home, said Escondido police Lt. Bob Benton.
In each case, the man approached the girls just after 3 p.m., he said.
It is too early to know if these incidents are connected to the disappearance the Amber Dubois, Escondido police said. Amber, 14, was last seen walking to Escondido High School more than two weeks ago.
One girl was in the 1400 block of Oakhill Street, and another was at Boyle and Rose Street, he said. The other location was unavailable.
When the girls declined a ride, the man drove off, Benton said.
The may be a Honda or Toyota, he said. The partial license plate is"5W00" or "5WWM," Benton said.
The man was described as a white man in his early 20s, with eye glasses and short dark hair, Benton said.
Are there any links regarding the former 13 yr. old victim or anywhere we have more info on here. I am wondering how he lured her to his house years ago?
I've wondered since this came to light if Lindsey Baum may also have been one of his victims. I donno how to go about sleuthing if he ever lived in or closer to her area. Rest In Peace Amber. May your family find comfort and peace.
In some media report, there was a mention of Amber's body being found near the spot where another young woman was found a number of years ago--1989? 1999? Did anyone else see that article, or am I hallucinating?
Attempted kidnapping - JAG looks quite a bit like the composite: http://ag.ca.gov/unsolved/pdf/1007%20Attempted%20kidnapping.pdf
possibly through conversation JAG found out about the FFA or the lamb and he said he was the one with it for sale and do you (Amber) wanna go see him now?I don't really know where to put this as a lot of the threads here are very specific to one topic but I am very curious as to how JAG (if he is the killer) or the killer if it is not JAG lured Amber. She was already so close to school, there were people all over the place you would think if he tried to force her into a car someone would have seen or at least heard her screams for help. Amber was always described as pretty shy and also intelligent. It is hard to imagine her being tricked somehow and going alone with this guy somewhere.
I think of Chelsea's attack as being a blitz attack while she was runing but she was out in a pretty unpopulated area. I think he would have had to be more careful with Amber considering the location.
