Disappointed in the movie, which was way too short and chopped up. I thought the casting was unrealistic. Couldn't they find actors who looked more like the originals. GA in particular must be furious that he was portrayed as overweight and shleppy. I stopped watching it in the middle to come on here, which in itself shows that it was not very good.

Really? That's ridiculous that anyone would say that. Those people are not the intelligent, witty people who come here. Please.

Sorry if I missed it elsewhere, or later in this thread - but oh yeah. Beaz blasted Websleuths in his book by name. He trashed the sites/it's users. I guess he was the one with egg on his face later though.

I have not watched the film yet (work), but I have it DVR'ed and will watch it as soon as I get the chance. I have read every post and I see how much it has upset people again, but, I believe that is a good thing... in the long run. It's okay to remember how utterly angry we were that day. We need to never get rid of that anger because the day we do... she wins. I want her to feel this anger every moment of every day of her miserable life.

Even without watching the film yet... I will never forgive this jury. I don't care what they say. There was more than enough evidence to convict her. I will never trust their word on how or why they came to their decision. I believe something far deeper went on between all of them. And they chose a two-year-old baby forever being denied justice for whatever it is they chose in exchange. I am not speaking of bribery or even jury tampering... but, I do believe they thought they would be much more famous and get a lot more money if they did not convict her.

MOO

Is it just me or does this look like a rerun that we have seen before? When I hear Gayle King's voice, I can remember it. The preview says it's 61 minutes. Even though it says it is a 2013 show, I wonder if this is an old tape with the new founded evidence of foolproof suffocation added in at the end?

I really felt like the George and Cindy interview was from the first 48 hours Hard Evidence they did. There seemed to have been past and present versions of Jose, unless he was rapidly losing and gaining an entire head's worth of weight (I think he took the loss of hostess a little hard, maybe?)
And Ashton deff was present day with a goatee and weight gain.

But while they mentioned the foolproof suffocation in the opener, did I miss them actually talking about it?

IMO Rob Lowe was a casting choice that was right on, also CM. plus, according to his many comments, RL's heart is in the right place. the LDB actress was too bland and did not present the "fierce" appearance of her RL counterpart. didn't care for those who played JB/GA/CA either

guess I'll mosey on over to 48 Hours and watch Picture Perfect/Trial of Jodi Arias

And while I didn't watch a lot of the trial until the end, I've watched a lot of clips and read Jeff's book and LDB's wardrobe choices in this movies ticked me off. Even in Jose's book he mentioned her red suit being a shocking new choice for opening statements. So that suit (which was pink in this movie) lost all impact. Blah!

OMG, the diner scene where Lowe is excited about millions of people watching him? I think they got him confused with another attorney who was loving the attention.

They are making it look like the prosecutors were really out there, and baez was the reasonable one who was discrediting them. This is making me sick. Am I over-reacting? They are making baez look like he is the reasonable one and he is picking the case apart, when it was really the defense witnesses who were not credible, and Jeff who humiliated them. Maybe I'm not far enough into it yet, but so far, it is all backwards.

OMG I totally agree, the movie was horrible ,but it did make me understand more why Casey was not convicted. If that is the impression the jurors got they're really not to blame IMO.The prosectution was asking "where is caylee?" set on Casey being guilty without ever letting anyone know why they were so sure and the defense was given the answers.I KNOW Casey was guilty because I'm a member here and saw all the evidence. If I watched this movie or if I was on the jury I would not have convicted her because I would have had reasonable doubt...
I feel kinda bad for George, lol,I bet he thinks he's a pretty smooth player type of guy and they portrayed him as a fat old mentally dense poppa...

I thought the movie was pretty good. I had forgotten most of it, but I don't know the case like most of y'all do. I only followed the trial as it was going.

I think Rob Lowe was pretty good. I also think the guy that played Mason was pretty spot on. The rest of the characters, blah.

I must admit, I cried a little when they walked into Dr. G's autopsy room and all the bones were spread out on the table.

I like how they showed Ashton and Linda having discussion about the "ifs" in this case. I also like how they showed Ashton saying something about Casey's lies are just good enough to question them (when Ashton was staring at the swimming pool at his house and talking to his wife)

I was disappointed, but, not surprised. I was not expecting much. Not only was the casting unrealistic, the acting was very poor.

I agree. The movie was pretty bad. BBM-I don't know what you mean by the bolded?? I fell asleep before the trial started.

Just caught up reading all the comments. I was really disappointed in the movie. I guess I forgot it was based on Jeff Ashton's book, which I read and thought was very good, but I wanted more of a story, more "poetic license". I wanted to SEE the story we all believe. I wanted to see the fight between Cindy and FCA. I wanted to SEE George and the smell in the car. And most of all, I wanted to SEE FCA murder Caylee, apply the duct tape and throw her poor little body in the trunk and then go make out with Toni. I wanted everyone to SEE her throw her away like trash in the swamp. Then EVERYONE would see the true horror of what FCA did. Those who didn't follow the whole abomination of this case still have no real idea.

But back to what we did see, I have to chuckle at how many scenes were in restaurants, cafeterias and lunch rooms. Makes it look like all they did was eat and drink coffee. I also think it was somewhat slanted making the prosecution witnesses look foolish, like Dr Vass talking about the divining rod out of a coat hanger, made it seem like he was the nutty professor. If I knew nothing about the events and saw this movie, I can see someone believing it was the correct verdict. I think the whole thing lacked drama and passion.

One other thing. I've been following the Jodi Arias trial and there has been some talk over who is more evil, more heinous. Jodi or Casey. IMO, CA wins by a long shot. She murdered her CHILD. Her own flesh and blood who she should have given her own life for. Instead she took Caylee's life. She looked into those big brown eyes as she placed that duct tape, as John Ashton said, one piece at a time! JA's attack was much more brutal and savage, but she had no emotional attachment to him. And I don't mean to minimalize the taking of his life, but to kill YOUR CHILD to me seems so much more horrendous! I hope they both meet in HELLo!

BBM: I am curious : What is your reason for having "reasonable doubt" ?

It was an open and shut case for me on Day 31 : what "mother" -- or father -- does NOT report their child MISSING for 31 days ?

Only a GUILTY mother/father would NOT report their child missing for 31 days !

And add to that the millions of LIES told by CA ... etc ... Y'all know the rest !

JMO, and I know many of you may "disagree" ... BUT I do NOT feel sorry for George at all : he "made his bed and he has to lay in it" ! He had AMPLE opportunity to tell the TRUTH, but he "bypassed it" ...

George did NOT stand up for CAYLEE ... and it makes me furious that NOT ONE Anthony stood up for that baby ! And I sure wish the movie would have focused on this !

And JMO, I believe Mr. Ashton was "duped" by George, and he should NOT have "trusted" George as much as he did ... Mr. Ashton is a "gentleman" and did what he could ...

Rule #1 : NEVER trust an "Anthony" !

RSBM

I suspect one day somebody will make a movie with the full details.

IMO, I think the movie was just told from Ashton's point of view. I think the parts of the trial we were seeing were probably the parts that stood out the MOST in Ashton's mind on what damaged the case for them with the jury.

Well I've just watched the movie and the behind the scenes after. The movie played out like a B rated flop. None of the actors were right except maybe Rob Lowe. Sure was a let down. The after show was much better and enlightening.

I didn't get to see either program, so thank-you everyone for your comments, it sounds like a dud.
Reading all the past stuff reminded me of all the strange characters that emerged during the search and trial.
Joy Wray
the Milsteads (where are they now)
River Cruz
Mort (the camera guy)
Leonard Padilla and co.
The guy at court who was asked to leave
The friend of CA who got caught in a bitter divorce
The woman who falsified search records.
Could it be any stranger?
I'm sure you could add to the list!

I meant to say the opening statement by the prosecution kept asking "where is caylee"?,as if admitting they really have no clue what happened ,whereas the defense told the jury a story that could be believable if you don't know all the facts like we do here.....

I soooo agree with your feeling that GA had Ashton duped.

In fact I agree with your whole post.

Thanks!

As I posted yesterday, I didn't watch the movie because the Red Wings season opener was on at the same time. I've read through the Websleuths comments and appreciate your candid remarks. Not sure I want to spend the time watching the film. I was totally invested in the case and watched most of the trial while posting here. Following the disappointing verdict, I put the case and Casey behind me and don't really care to revisit the sordid saga. :moo:

....not necessarily IMO,I am sure Casey is guilty not because of her lies and not reporting her missing but because I know her phone pings,I know every minute of what was going on June 16th,Caylee simply could not have drowned during the time the defense claims but the prosecution did not give us any of that timeline so if I was on the jury I could have been sucked into believing it happened as they said.....btw even IF it would have happened as a drowning accident I'm sure Casey wouldn't have acted any different, she would not have called 911 and she would have done anything to hide what happened from Cindy IMO

Wow, I love this idea! Wouldn't that make a much better movie? I hope somebody decides to make it.
