IMHO 50 seems a little light for a count. I will check my phonebook when I get home. There are atleast 10 I can think of in my general vicinity (5 miles or so)

Right across the Holiday Inn Express (MW) there's an ABCO facility

Looks like their loading ramp is on the hotel side. It would be a good idea to keep a cam watching the ramp. Any local would be interested in talking to the guys? Don't forget a "f... off" is a probable response.

Well, except for the victimology, except for the fact, that the killer made those phone calls only in one case, except for the fact, he was pretty controlled for a drunk guy and except for the fact, that the lawyer Cohen changed that statement in the last 48 Hours episode ... it has all hallmarks of a red herring. Something, smarter SKs sometimes dangle in front of the gullible to cover their tracks.
Victims

There were 162 homicide victims, the majority of whom were female (77.2%, n = 125; 22.8%, n = 37 male). Most victims (70.1%, n = 115) were Caucasian or African American (26.5%, n = 43); 2 percent were classified as other (three Hispanic, one Korean). The mean age of the adult victims was 26.1 years (SD 0.70). (Fifteen victims who were 14 or younger were not used in calculating the mean age of victims, to prevent skewing the results.)

Most of the homicides (58%) in our sample were committed by Caucasian offenders against Caucasian victims, and the great majority (83%) of offenders targeted victims of the same race. Only five (13.2%) offenders exclusively targeted victims of a different race. The specific racial composition of offender and victim was as follows: the 25 Caucasian offenders killed 94 Caucasians, 4 African Americans, and 4 other; the 12 African-American offenders killed 39 African Americans and 18 Caucasians; and the Asian offender killed 3 Caucasians.

Does anyone have any insight into Newsday's relationship with Nassau County versus Suffolk County?? I can't tell if it's just me or do they favor Suffolk County and seem to be kissing politicians asses while quick to highlight faults in Nassau.

FIELDNOTES, is it getting that obvious? For one thing Nassau is under the rule of the GOP. The best way to attack an administration is to attack the a PD. Former Dem CE Souzzi is a highly paid consultant for Cablevision/Newsday. The rumors have already begun that Suozzi may run again. But you should be mindful that Newsday and Cablevision don't need that as an excuse to bash NCPD.

Newsday can keep up its image of being the Liberal rag that it is by bashing NCPD and keep the "RICO" and GANGBANGERS - the SCPD out of the public eye. I mean only in the past week the SCPD rescued a duckling family, and my gosh, a baby deer.

PAL, you hit the nail on the head.

BTW, I think the GB4/SG cases have been pretty much solved on this Board. The problem may well be is a certain well known person connected to Newsday may be running around with the usual suspects.

REVIEW OF THE FACTS:

1. Young lady named SG, a known escort is commissioned to provide services for Oak Beach Resident Joe Brewer.
2. SG spends up to 3 hours with Brewer and unidentified others.

3. Brewer said SG was not brought there for sex.

4. SG leaves Brewer's home and spends 22 minutes on a call with 911. The content of that 22 min conversation differs on who you are expected to believe has the best version.

5. Retired detective writes a letter to Newsday stating he heard the tape and tells us there was nothing on it that indicated she was in trouble, or even excited.

6. No one has heard the tape in the public sector. they won't even give us a bleep, bleep, bleep version of the tape.

7. SG's body is literally been put on ice since her body was discovered.

AHHH HAAAA! You are a republican!

Mr. Dolan is a republican. He owns Newsday.

AHHH HAAAA! You are a republican!

Not directed at me, but I know I'm one. I remember going to Newday's offices on a fifth-grade school trip; even then I was a budding young GOPer, and I remember seeing the "Vote Row D - Liberal Party" bumper stickers plastered to newsmen's desks. Some things never change, I guess. Political corruption knows no party on Long Island, though; whereas Suffolk Republicans had (or still has) mob connections (I'm thinking Tony Pace et al), the Democrats are no day at the beach either.

I think, Wayne Williams, Lemual Smith, Lonnie Franklin, Anthony Sowell, Gary Carlton and some dozen more would disagree with you. They were all SKs and all black. And who is the only one who actually calls African-American "******s" all the time? Another African-American. So ... that, and the victimology indicate an African-American unsub.

I do not think the LISK is African American.

Adler I started a construction connection thread....please feel free to ask me anything you wanna know.

Thank you, LINative. I'm getting caught up on reading here, and just thinking. This is a really great idea for a thread.

This one is a little out there but here it goes...I've always thought the killer might live in Massapequa. The gilgo 4 are dumped right over the county line in suffolk along with the manorville bodies which I think was done to skirt county jurisdiction. Since Massapequa is the last town in nassau that over looks the south bay before amityville starts suffolk, it comes to my attention. Could some of the houses along the bay have a great view of ocean parkway with a telescope?

We know some folks who have a house on the bay, my husband visited often when he was a teen. He says that you can see gilgo and tobay clearly. Lots of those houses have three stories. Even jones on a clear day.

Eta... I asked him if he had ever learned of the massacre and the history lesson that you posted being that he was born and raised in massapequa. He knew nothing of it...but he isn't what you would call a book worm.

You dont need no telescope......Just gotta be High up Enough to offset earth curvature (an no fog also helps)

Thank you.... I got a bit of reading to catch up on.

The community is definitely slower between labor day and memorial day This was what I was looking for.....sorry "Reply With Quote" was being painful. This quote from you was on page one post number 14. Can you tell me what's different in the area that you have observed during this time period...anything any thoughts what ever comes to mind....thanks.

Is there any particular fishing that is undertaken in winter in the area? - as opposed to the warmer months.
or special bait hunting undertaken in the area during this time? .....thanks

Anybody remembers or heard a fuss in Manorville around late 2007 (October perhaps?) ... Possible discovery of human remains, kept low profile, a cordoned off area, CSI trucks coming and going perhaps, maybe not very close to Long Island Expressway but Sunrise Highway.
