The 36-year-old woman abruptly departed from Ridge Meadows Hospital last week and has not been seen since Nov. 23, where she was spotted in the 11600-block of Laity Street at approximately 1:20 a.m.
Harbowy is described as a Caucasian female, 5’6” tall, 170 pounds, with brown/red hair. She was last seen wearing a grey Nike hoodie with black logo lettering on the chest, black Puma sweatpants with lettering on the bottom left pant leg, and black and white Nike running shoes.

A Maple Ridge family is desperately searching for a woman who vanished 13 days ago after security escorted her out of the Ridge Meadows Hospital.
The family of Rebecca Harbowy told CTV News she was left on a dark street, alone, in the middle of the night, and hasn’t been seen since that evening.
According to family, Rebecca has a drug addiction and had been trying to detox at her parents’ home, where she lives.
But that afternoon, she became very confused and disorientated and was saying strange things and not making sense,” said Debbie Harbowy, Rebecca’s mother.
An ambulance was called, and after paramedics checked her over, Rebecca was taken to Ridge Meadows Hospital.

This story is infuriating to me. I have struggled with addiction many years and have gone through several rounds of detox at hospitals. I have never gotten into a physical altercation with staff, but I’m sure there were times I was less than cooperative. I’m thankful my hospital staff saw through the addiction and detox to the person inside, and treated me with care and respect, instead of just tossing me out on the street….during DETOX!!! How horrible, and how upset her family must be. I don’t even know how I would deal with this happening to my loved ones….I’d be absolutely fuming. Ugh.

I hope, in this case, that this is a relapse and she’s just holed up somewhere and will eventually be found or come home. It’s certainly better than the alternative.
