A 13-year-old girl called for help following the boy's fall. The teen, Rebecca Zahau and Max Shacknai were the only ones in the residence at the time. Corbin said the girl was Zahau's sister.

Interesting!!

The bolded sentence "Corbin said the girl was Zahou's sister." was NOT in the original article when released. Wonder why this change-up in the local Coronado Patch article when it has been established that it was Jonah's daughter, GS, in the house at the time?

Does Rebecca even have a 13 year old sister?

ETA: This could also be a typo - we'll have to see if it's corrected

Yup - fast forward to 2011. Traffic on the bridge on a weekday morning is going to be bad (leaving the island). I suggested 30 minutes for a 12 mile drive - but it could be anywhere from 20-40 minutes.

Mel

What about in the wee hours of the morning?

Hmmm puts a different angle on things if this is true. Any other article mention Rebecca having a sister? Or are they confusing her sister for Max's older sister?

Confused.

No matter how innocent you are, if you're going to speak with the cops about a potential homicide, get lawyered up.

Has anyone seen a statement by Jonah concerning the death of Rebecca?

Nope .... I asked this earlier and no one said they had seen one. I find that really strange since the claim is that she lived with him 2 years+.

I posted quite a while back that in one article it said Rebecca was still alive when the firefighters arrived.

It would seem very difficult to confuse a very blond, fair skinned 13 year old as a sister of Rebecca. (Of course unless adopted, by marriage, etc)

Coronado Patch is a website local to Coronado, a very small, exclusive community.

This change appears to me to be blatantly deliberate.

Haven't heard anything about a 13 year old sister of Rebecca.

One of the videos [sorry don’t know which link] has a man talking about being unclothed and bound can be messages in a suicide.

Recognition of subjugation and so on.

With all its beauty and history Coronado can be, in the chill of the early morning, the expansiveness of the ocean, the grey of sand and fog, somewhat bleak or at least in the view from a tiny RV parked at the strand.

From a mansion where only two days before life was grand and now with Maxie gravely injured under my watch and a long cold shouldered night in a landmark home now a grief unbearable.

Naked and wrapped like Prometheus the fresh hell every morning would bring was ended herself sacrificed.

The gym guy mentioned Rebecca was very physically fit but walked with a permanent limp like someone who had a blister on their foot and couldn’t put full weight on that side.

I wonder if she was in pain on an ongoing basis that can be very exhausting mentally.

Just thinking…..all imo

Things that make you go hmmmmm!

I guess I'm wondering who would/could verify what other child was there and where did they get the story it was actually Rebecca's sister now.

Ok,I am going to play devil's advocate. Go ahead and get ready to whoop me you guys. Rebecca, from everything I can surmise is a survivor. I might go so far as to say a tough little cookie. Mentally i will go so far to say ....she had to be a bit Machiavelli to achieve what she desired. A person can tic off a lot of people by being ambitious. Even if she snapped from the stress.... I just cannot see a person with her makeup choosing to destroy herself in such a humiliating way. But, and I say this with well earned humility..I have been wrong.:slap:

Sheriff Dept (SDSO) has maintained Rebecca was the ONLY person home, that *** left for SC an hour before the "accident". They FINALLY reported yesterday *** was there. Coronado PD (CPD) made one early statement it was GS. Now I see Coronado Patch says it's Rebecca's sister.

A neighbor saw 2 females (RN & GS)taken away in a cop car, after Max fell. GS told the kennel owner "her son" was in a coma & "her daughter" was injured. She has no daughter.

One more thing, *** called 911!
Where was RN? JS? Max was not breathing, no pulse, when medics arrived & revived him. No one performed CPR?

These conflicting reports have been bugging me. Something's been telling me GS is in the middle of this.

Everyone says Max "fell", a neighbor said a "chandelier fell on him". Late Friday night, the day he was declared brain dead and GS "leaked" it on Facebook (why???) another search warrant was served. LE brought a ladder & examined the chandelier. They also jumped up & down on the first staircase landing, like they were doing a reenactment.

DOJ accompanied CPD & SDSO. Don't know what branch, probably FBI (the sheriff's former employer). They need that kind of expertise in this case. Just don't understand why they're leaving the "accident" investigation in the hands of inexperience - CPD, unless it's by design.

Any thoughts?

I guess Jonah has a teenage son by his first wife? For some reason I thought it was two daughters. I can't post links but it appears Jonah and Rebecca attended his Bar Mitzvah together about 4 months ago.

The lawyer showed up AFTER they found Rebecca hanging from the balcony Wednesday morning. At that point, we only knew a young boy was injured Monday. I think he came to see Adam, who was being interrogated by police, and was denied entry. It was still a designated crime scene.

NONE! Her sister said he was "devastated" or something similar, that's it.
Her sister also said she seemed "OK", everything was "fine", when she talked to her Tuesday night. How could she be "fine" after Max got hurt the day before? RN's family is glossing over this with superfluous statements that make no sense.

Thank you so much for this. I am glad the DOJ is involved but can't help wonder why the local CPD is handling the boys death. I have to also wonder if some family PR machine is giving out misinformation?

Sounds like they were told Max jumped off the landing to grab the chandelier?

Not sure what you mean? Are you suggesting that perhaps the boyfriend came back to the house? The bridge is wide open say from 9PM - 4AM. Work traffic starts about 4:30 - 8:30. I would think LE would be able to find his car on camera though, as this is a popular jump bridge with lots of cameras, and if he (or even Dina for that matter) tried to scoot back home for a few hours, they would be pretty easy to spot - IMHO.

Best,

Mel

Where did you see/hear the bolded statements? - Do you have a link?

TIA

My vote is "blatantly deliberate". It was ***, as CPD originally stated. Sounds like she stepped in deep doo doo, and daddy's paying. Maybe that's why they left the "accident" investigation in the inexperienced hands of CPD. So they reach the same conclusion they did on Monday - "an unfortunate accident".

There was too much effort put into making everyone think RS was the only one home. I was almost convinced it was suicide, that JS sent her packing and she retaliated by staging her own murder. Now, I'm wondering if she was being silenced. Something happened Monday, that they want no one to know about. I never thought I'd say this about an LE investigation, but everyone can be bought for the right price. I've just never been this "up close" to the life of a filthy rich egomaniac. Scary.
