Rebecca Nalepa - suicide or murder? #3

But, I could never tell if it belonged to them or neighbors behind them.
If there are neighbors behind them.
Also, have not seen a pool being mentioned in any of the descriptions.

The pool belongs to the neighbors behind them. It's connected to the other house's patio and landscaping.

Hi! Thanks I stand corrected...it did happen on a Monday. There had to have been a housekeeper/nanny on the premises I think. I would say yes more than no... the man is really wealthy, this is a historical landmark property - he's not going to allow this property to deteriorate and look shabby.

I agree. 27 room and yard work for the summer crowd....can't imagine RN doing everything (cooking, cleaning, nanny, gardner, etc...)

I posted an earlier video that showed an older gentleman loading 3 suitcases in his car (not sure if it was on Monday or Wednesday); it said 2 people where staying in one of the questhouse...they were escorted on and off property by private security....

Lawgirl,I believe you are spot on about GS calling her dad after the accident. If it is true,and that RN told the kennel owner her daughter was also injured. Then,JS would have been even more alarmed with both children injured. I cannot even imagine DS reaction ...all I can think of is she was distraught and panicked. At this point I think both JS and DS would have anxiety and be totally besides themselves. An explosive situation fueled with emotions running so high. I am now going to make my point ,most homicides are committed by people who know the victim and are crimes of passion. This case fits all of that criteria to a T. If ever there was a murder scene that was done by a crazed angry person this is it. :twocents:

The thing about the housekeeping is we don't know what this families future plans were. HK, if they had worked on the weekend, they may have had Monday off, and would be back on Tuesday for the party. After the accident they may have been told to not come back until later. Also, the mansion may have had many rooms closed off if they're not being used. From what we know, only four people were staying there at the time of Max's accident. We don't what their plans were to return to AZ. JS may have wanted his kids to grow not being waited on hand and foot. I live in a historic house in a neighborhood that is on the Nat'l Historic Registry. Of course, we have no help, but it's not hard to upkeep.

You're right. We don't know. This was a vacation home so perhaps they were only there for a short period of time and no housekeeping was necessary. We don't even know if Maxie was there on that fateful day only? His mom has a house close by.

As for Rebecca, perhaps she knew nobody was around (housekeepers) so planned her suicide knowing nobody was around. We don't even know if she knew AS was there do we? Where was the guest house?

Summer crowd? Correct me if I'm wrong but the alleged party is just speculation at this time, right? I haven't seen anybody come forward ( party guests) to say they attended a party at the house the Tuesday night.

Seriously this case feeds inquiring minds at every possible angle - no matter how you want to approach it - you have something to work with. I expect they will make a movie out of this someday. Every character is suspect. The crime of passion bit is absolutely on target. Thanks for the input...I agree!

A timeline of events at the historic Coronado mansion that resulted in two deaths the week of July 11, 2011.
July 11: Max Shacknai, 6, falls inside the home suffering injuries that would ultimately lead to his death.
July 12: Rebecca Zahau calls a local dog daycare company to arrange for care for her dog so she could join the hospital vigil for her boyfriend’s son Max.
July 13: Adam Shacknai calls 911 at 6:30 a.m. reporting the discovery of a nude woman hanging from the second-story balcony with her hands and feet bound. Once emergency crews pronounced the woman dead, Coronado police requested the help of San Diego County Sheriff’s Department homicide investigators.
Jonah Shacknai’s company Medicis released a statement asking that the family’s privacy be respected.

Thanks for the timeline. The fact that she called the local daycare for the dog suggests that she wanted to be at the hospital with JS. For whatever reason, she was probably told she was not welcomed to stay and perhaps DS blamed her for her son's death because she was the alleged "caregiver" at the time. Who knows what sort of accusations were being thrown at RN. Maybe even from JS himself.

She may have been so overwhelmed with guilt and fear that she decided to take her own life.

I'm really starting to believe it is what it is. Tragedy struck that home. Accident and suicide.

A neighbor living nearby the mansion witnessed paramedics hurrying to save the 6-year old after his fall on Monday. The neighbor did not want to be identified, but said, "We saw them all in the entry working on this person. I just said my little prayer, and I turned around."

On Wednesday morning Rebecca Nalepa's body was found naked hanging from a balcony in the mansion. Police say her hands and ankles were bound. Investigators have said Shacknai's girlfriend's death and his child's serious fall are *not* connected. The neighbor we talked to says she frequently saw the boy at the Hotel del Coronado Sports Facility.

The neighbor said, "The child was familiar with the house. He's athletic. He swims--playing in the pool alot."

i think what they are referring to is how this person is seemingly defending JS, and their join date is this month, with only 4-5 posts. i do not believe personally that it's likely this person knows JS. but the PR machines wheels have been turning.

I thought it was confirmed - NO PARTY. LE said they are still checking into who could have been at the house the night before other than Rebecca and Adam. Complaint by neighbors of loud music, police only released records up until July 10th though IIRC.

Sorry for the confusion; only meant by "summer crowd"....since it was used as a vacation home and the town was full of "zonies"/vacationers that they would want the house/yard to look well taken care of. No, I have not seen anywhere that the party planned for Tuesday even happened......:crazy:

Okay, thanks. I too do not believe JS had anything to do with this and didn't view the post as defending him so much as stating we really don't have much to go on. I hadn't paid to attention to the number of posts or the join date, just so just wondered why. :waitasec:

1,000 apologies .. I have now gone back to that original video and extracted the correct sequence from it ... here is photo # 1 ...

as can be clearly seen you make out the straight dark line coming from the middle of the balcony and hanging down which when it hits the darker tree it is a light line running down which I have marked.

Here is photo #2 (a close up of #1) ...

Which shows that hanging rope dark where it is against the house and light where it is against the tree in much sharper straighter detail.

..his accident was called in @ approx. 10 a.m. july 11th. ( his death wasn't reported until the 17th.--although his sister G had the R.I.P. maxi on her f/b on the evening on the 15th.)

..i would think on the 13th that she would be doing what she could to support jonah?

..i'm just not buyng suicide at all.

..fortunately LE has expedited forensics---which should be in by friday...we'll learn a lot more then.

I'm guessing that was her plan. On the 12th. she called the dog daycare to have them watch the dog because she wanted to join JS at the hospital. For whatever reason, it seems she didn't. The 13th. she was found dead.
