I'm sad and surprised when I hear people say that a "non believer" has no beliefs or morals, because I know they do, they just might come from a different source. Hey guys, maybe we should just move on, it's just an opinion and another's opinion and another's. I mean I was raised a Baptist, now I'm not one. But I'm a Christian, but if someone doesn't like that , that's ok too. Now my son's a Catholic, and I might become one too. My family of origin doesn't really like that, to them Catholics are bad. But that's ok too. So what ? It's still America, ya know, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and all that ? Just sayin' . It's all good, it's America, the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. Sorry if I'm rambling, sometimes it all gets a little rediculous. Love you all :loveyou:

Let's just blame Geff for fostering this divisiveness and call it settled. His testimony was unprincipled and amoral. Perhaps we'll luck out and when all this is over JSS will issue a stern assessment of his performance that echoes the one he got in a prior trial. With even more luck, JSS will go on a veritable blitz and write similar "recommendation" letters for ALV and Phony-seca.

Welcome! It's always exciting to see Posts: 1 - and have another lurker join us! And yep, the jury is supposed to be finding mitigating factors that would substantially outweigh the aggravating one.

OK...happy to move on, but I appreciate the original poster having a discussion with me because I wanted to understand the post and the poster helped me do that, I thought that was what the forum was for but I will move on :loveyou:
 
I was just pondering a few things...

Anyone else notice in Juans response to Nurmis latest mistrial motion where IT said the defendant admitted none of the super secret AFFADAVIT witnesses planned to actually testify in person? Which means Nurmi lied to JSS and to the Court
Of Appeals when he pled his case to them. Wonder why he doesn't get punished?

This whole clapping/pretend clapping spectator. I wish they'd ban her before she does something even more stupid. We have 1 week left, why do ANYTHING to cause any trouble or drama? I find it hard to believe Travis' family, who always acts so respectful, is ok with this type of behaviour at court.

Thank you Dr Geffner for insulting Mormons. I hope Willmott and Nurmi spend their whole weekend stewing over THE WORST BLUNDER EVER.

Also just read in the American sniper case that started LAST WEEK, the defense rested. The prosecution rebut starts tomorrow and the judge excepts it to go to the jury end of next week. 2 weeks, a full trial, DONE!!!!!! Imagine that.

For those who have a subscription to BK's website, she has posted the Hearing in Chambers on 10/20 that led to JSS shutting down the courtroom. I am still processing all of it but I will say that this gave me a much firmer grasp on the DT's level of whining and JA coddling, as well as clearer insight into just how easily JSS gives in to JA despite her better judgment.

Oh yeah, and it was fantastic that Juan called JA out on tweeting things to the public yet is telling the Judge she is afraid and nervous that the public will respond hatefully to her testimony.

I agree with everything you said! JSS gave in on such a weak argument: JA feels nervous and doesn't want anyone to know that she is testifying. I haven't finished reading it (experiencing issues loading all of the pages), but from what I've read, I'm astounded.

ETA: Since my original post, I have read that JSS did state that she believes this was a manipulation and questions the true reasons behind this request. She genuinely was concerned that an Appellate Court would have found that JA was unable to present mitigating factors if she refused to testify.

Also, Nurmi has repeatedly made note of JA's psychological shortcomings. In text, they sort of came off as digs.

He basically said he didn't interview any Mormons (sky, chris, Lisa) because he thinks Mormons lie and that anything they had to say wasn't useful.

She even went so far as to tell the Judge threats were not only made against her if she testifies to certain things but TA's family as well, but JM was all over that and then she backed off of that particular lie when the Judge asked JM if the Alexander's had any concerns to which he stated they did not

I understand what you are saying MaLou but JSS knew when she applied the "test" that the reasons the DT presented were not sufficient enough to warrant a complete disregard of the First Amendment, hence she decided JA's concerns would be adequately addressed by sending the public to the overflow room--and JSS clearly knew this was a reasonable solution. Yet in the end, once the DT continued on, she gave in anyway.

I read the letter and just about pounded my computer screen. That's just really sick. Sorry, I can't think of a better analogy than it was written to drive the knife in deeper. I hope they pay per view her death.
