And I might add... there is NEVER a time in any investigation, when you can say that you have told them all you can tell them... not until the case is closed, and the missing person has been found, dead or alive. That investigation does not truly end until whoever is responsible is tried and convicted. Only then can you truly say you have done all that you can to help.

A young person who is making comments like that needs grief counseling, IMO. 40+ years would be a long time to be depressed to the point of disabilty.

I don't think they give SSDI to people with depression. It's treatable, with medication and therapy. IOW, it can be cured. True, it does take time, but he can't keep on claiming being depressed as an excuse not to work, as young as he is. Sooner or later, he's going to have to get up and go to work.

All this concern over Ron C's surviving children reading what others have said about him someday via the internet will fade in comparison to the records that speak for themselves as to the "man" that RC's is/was (or perhaps more appropriately, "the man that he wasn't" . . . In my opinion). Apparently he seems he$$ bent on adding to his legacy - or should I say, he could care less, in my opinion, what his surviving children someday know, read about or think of him - RC and RC only is responsible for how his children choose to see him someday, not you and not me. That seems to have worked quite well where TN's & AS's are concerned but do not volunteer me up or offer my services as an additional female scapegoat/enabler to aid in the continuation of carrying responsibility and blame that should be solely RC's to carry! I have one son who is RC's age and another who is a couple years older - I worked too hard to raise two responsible, compassionate, decent and law abiding men, men who have NEVER had any conflict with the law whatsoever, to allow anybody to try to put the responsibility or blame in my lap for the outcome of how RC's children view him someday. If RC's cared enough about how his children viewed him/or would view him someday, I can think of a dozen things right off the top of my head that he would have, could have and should done differently - his most recent arrest is just another example of how much RC's cares about what his children will think of him someday . . .

The views expressed here are my opinions only and do not reflect on anyone else . . . JMO

The difference is between public and private.

Any reckoning that R or C’s children, if they feel the need to do, could have been private.

Now posts on this board can affect everything from college admissions, employment, friends and so on.

You may not want that on your lap but it is.

It wouldn’t make Ron or Crystal better people for posters to be concerned about they posted on the net but posters themselves would be better people by doing so.

My appreciation goes out to the posters who are sleuthing in a reasoned and knowledgeable way.

I have followed WS for years and cases have been solved on this board because so many care despite the socioeconomic conditions of many of the families. You all are inspiring!

All in my opinion

If this is still an ongoing investigation, there could be new information that needs to be clarified. I see no valid reason whatsoever why he cannot go and talk to them. Where is the logic in thinking there is nothing else he can tell them? Does he even want Haleigh to be found? If I were in his place, I would be running to talk to them every time they asked. I would be cooperating to the fullest and I would make sure that my spouse... who was supposedly the last one to see Haleigh, the one responsible for her safety and well being while I was at work, the one who claims to love Haleigh like her own child... is available for questioning as well.

I have an idea...why doesn't ron and misty agree to be hypnotized first so that even the most minute detail that maybe they sub consciously forgot during all the confusion or from all the stress could be brought our....Ron, Misty please do this for Haleigh!

Didn't it take Elizabeth Smart's little sister several months to make a connection about the man who took her? You just never know what might come up. I wonder if they have tried hypnosis with Misty to see if there are details that can be made clearer.

Edit: Ok DenVIP that's just creepy that we had the same thought at the same time. Must mean it has some merit, though.

Not that it matters as it relates to finding HaLeigh, but yes, you can receive SSDI for depression, my mother has received it for approx 15 years for depression. She spent about 8 years in and out of hospitals first. I can not agree that it is treatable 100% of the time...

Sorry for the O/T, my post was only meant as an FYI lol, I'm not saying Ron is eligible for SSDI...

I'm all for giving him a little Sodium Thiopental (Pentothal)...Misty too..
IMHO...Might as well give it to all players involved... We would get the information we want, people would be cleared, and justice for Haleigh would be served...JMO

If Ronald qualifies for SSI then I want to be the Pope or at the very least Toms Girls assistant.....you tell me who has a better chance? Just my opinion and thoughts

I don't think Crystal, who is grieving too and has a baby to care for, should have to go to work to send money to Ron and Misty while they sit there not working. She needs as much time to grieve as they do. However, I have known people who have suffered tremendous tragedy in their lives, and NOT ONE of them took off six months from work. They took off for a while and went back to work to support their families. In fact, I have heard them say that it was good to get back to work because it took their mind off their loss. I guess what I am trying to say is that if you are going to give him a pass to grieve, give the mom a pass too.

Not sure what you mean, do you think she shouldn't have to pay the court ordered child support?

I had a friend say to me that was a good drug dude....so my guess is they both just might go for it!!!

IIRC it was close to 9 months before she said something.....

Yet another issue by which we will hear lengthy discussion on how it couldn't have been him/the Croslin's are just setting him up/it's a lie/ etc etc etc.

But it did make the news so........

OMG..Hopefully it was just a little mouse.. Seriously though how far down in the sewer can this go?
Some of these people just may make the mafia looks like Boy Scouts.
Last I heard they just send DEAD fish..

BTW.. I detest rats..JMO

What I find more than a little strange and unnerving is that in the area where the Cummings lived there were 66 SOs. However, they were all interviewed and cleared in a matter of days. Now does it make sense that the LE can't say any member of either family is cleared after 6 months?

Did they give lie detector tests to all 66 SO's. Did they call them back in for interviews, etc. I would think this would be the LE's first line of attack and not the families. Maybe if someone in the family had a previous charge for being an SO, but to my knowledge this is not the case. IMO

PUTNAM COUNTY, FL -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says they are investigating another incident that may involve Ronald Cummings.

Cummings has been the subject of attention this year as the father of a missing girl for whom there has been an Amber Alert for over six months.

The PCSO says Hank Croslin, Jr., filed a report last Saturday about a dead rat in his mailbox.

He told deputies a neighbor saw Ronald Cummings putting something in his mailbox around midnight.

Cummings was arrested last week following an altercation with Croslin, who is the brother of Cummings' wife, Misty.

The sheriff's office says the incident is not tied to the search for 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings. Her birthday is Sunday. She disappeared after going to bed on the night of February 9.

What a sick thing to do, but at least this time there is another witness to the incident who has volunteered information. It is not just a he said/they said issue. By the way....tampering with a mailbox for any reason is a FEDERAL CRIME.

If it can be proven that Ron C is responsible for putting a "headless dead rat" into a mailbox, he could be in a world of trouble with the Federal government..
And thats not just my opinion, thats a FACT.

They aren't going to clear anyone in the family because it tips their hand too much to the perp. At this point stress and innuendo is what they are working with to leverage cooperation and communication. Until they have some forensics to work with the next most likely outcome will be someone in this pressure cooker talking.

And statistically speaking 66 sex offenders or 300 sex offenders the odds of this being a stranger abduction are 1 in a 100 on the high side. If any of the SO raised their radar during questioning they would have kept tabs on him to see if he led them anywhere. I don't know if it is national or local law but part of being a SO on probation is that you have to let the cops in and you have to come in for questioning. No hiding behind your rights. If a kid comes up missing in the neighborhood the cops are coming in and you are coming down for questioning should they think you are a bit overlynervous when they come to ask for your alibi.

I don't think Haleigh was taken from the house. I think it happened somewhere else, that Misty really may not know where she is, but isn't being forthcoming about where she was. No crime scene and no reliable statement of the events leading up to the event..... tough case until something breaks loose.
