Honestly, it makes me SICK the way other posters here are talking about Misty and Ron.

If they were even remotely suspected they would be arrested already.

Like I said in other posts, moments of tragedy either rip a couple apart, or make their bond stronger.

It seems Misty and Ron have grown closer.

They too are VICTIMS in this. I am sorry if some posters are so jaded that they cannot see that.

*I have posted my opinion before and have been flamed for giving a crap about Misty and Ron. So if you disagree with me, go ahead and quote me, but do not expect a response from me. This is how I feel after watching them and nothing anyone here says will change that.

I understand and respect what you're saying. My issue is that Haleigh has only been gone for a month and Misty is standing in front of the courthouse, grinning ear-to-ear like a happy little bride-to-be. That's strange to me. I don't begrudge them happiness and I would never wish ill-will on somebody - but standing in front of the courthouse, acting like your dreams have come true is weird. I promise I'm not flaming you. I just wanted to explain my perspective.
Also if it really IS about Haleigh, Misty should have just walked to her car - like Ron did and not talk about it. Especially not look like the most wonderful thing in life is happening to you.

And LE said they didn't know what the crime WAS. They can't arrest somebody for a crime when they themselves don't know.
:)

Ron didn't look so happy. Misty was all bubbly, her mother seemed happy too, and Ron walks past, and ignores them. I don't think they're off to such a good start here.

Maybe Ron hadn't wanted Misty to talk to the media. If he was upset I'm surprised that he didn't backhand her to the sidewalk or cuss her out as he is such an abuser.

(respectfully snipped) Swallowed the canary... lol (oh dear, it's getting late...)

I'd really rather not...

(bold mine) Have been turning this over in my poor little worn out mind... I'm also wondering about possible shared complicity. But if gf is guilty on some lesser level (of negligence eg), any guesses what else it is she may hold over dad?

(bold mine) Ok well and what if she's say 16, like when he first got involved w her and she never gets beyond the 7th or 8th grade and he does worse than call her a dumb b* when LE's not around or when they're behind closed doors and this is just a way for each to enable one another at best and conceal or exempt themselves from their respective culpability at worst? Should we still congratulate them then and throw confetti simply because it "pulls them closer?" Dad was angry long before anybody here or in the public at large had a chance to form any impressions, their suspicions were aroused based on his behavior. JMO

:bedtime:

:parrot:

Well if she was 16 when they got together that would put her as a sophomore in High school...not 7th or 8th grade, so not going BEYOND 7th or 8th grade would be HER fault, not Ron's.

And we can SAY alot of things...but it is all speculation. Sorry, but everybody and every situation is individual. Life is like a "choose-your-own-adventure", not an instruction manual. HOPING for the best is better than prescribing a set course of action based on what your particular reading of the situation is.

I hear what others are saying that one just might not know what they would do if their child was abducted.. perhaps.. but I feel I can say with 100% I could not plan any kind of happy occasion for a long time that did not include my child, my missing and ABDUCTED child. I would have trouble breathing.

If this child is alive, she is likely with some pedophile or sex offender and I am sure he's not planning anything joyous or fun with her.. I cannot comprehend how looking for your daughter turns into let's get married. How can they even think about that when they don't know if she is fed or alive. She cannot be safe because she was taken by someone who was not her parent.
I can debate the abuser thing another time, let's face it the guy lacks proper judgement, he left two young children in the care of a child and now I see it once again..poor judgement. That's how Hayleigh went missing in the first place.
No congrats here.

The great grandma is posting videos on you tube taking donations and giving Ronald's address to send the money to,this is unbelievable. So,they're getting married,Great grandma is setting up donations under the name barbibabies.I hope LE is taking note of the family. Why does he need donations,he's not looking for Haleigh. Is this for the wedding?

Amen!

I just cannot fathom planning some happy occasion while my baby was missing! How would it even be possible to focus on (what's supposed to be) such a sacred and special event in the midst of such tragedy?

Sickening!! :hopping_mad:

This is weird for me because I have always been a supporter of both Ron AND Misty, but I just watched the video interview with Misty announcing the engagement on one of the new channels.

Here is what I noticed: The whole time when she is asked about the engagement, she is nodding her head yes while she is talking. Then anytime she is asked about Haleigh, she starts shaking her head no even though her comments are meant to be positive.

What do you suppose that means?

Well maybe he would have but after that big tattoo he recently got, he just doesn't have his full strength back. LOL

Thank you for being respectful of my opinion.

In the newscast, the reporter did say Misty was sad and upset about Haleigh, but when they changed the topic to her engagement she got happy. They did NOT show the earlier part of the interview when she was upset.

OMG, are you really trying to pull a 70-80 year olds arrest record?

ITA about not acting the same way. I personally would be a depressed lump of a human being completely UNable to function. But that's me. I know people who would be anger incarnate. I have no idea what's going through their heads, or whether they have something to do with it. I just don't think the emotional reactions are quite as far off in THIS case as they were for little miss anything-but-clothes. I do think it's odd, but I also thought it was odd to read incest into the Caylee case and I bet many of the posters who though that are perfectly decent people. Me thinking someones actions are odd doesn't equal evidence.

I have a 15 year old who regularly babysits. Child services does not take children born to parents who are under 18. The local YMCA offers babysitting classes for kids as young as 12. Leaving children with a 17 year old while going to your night job is not bad judgement. I do still understand where you're coming from, even if I think this particular example of the poor judgement is a bit of a stretch.

You mean like the way people treated the Anthonys and anyone else involved in a way that scrutinised their every look , move , glance, eyebrow raise , what food they ate , how they wore their hair , whether they were skinny or fat ????

There is a case at the moment Renee Pernice - you might have heard of t ? Most everyone thinks her husband had something to do with the disappearance of Renee (including I feel 100 percent sure - the police) no body has been found either...

But he has not been arrested...Why? Because they need 100 percent fullproof evidence that the person committed the crime.. before they arrest

Just like with Casey.

So that they can not be released later for lack of evidence...

Just because Misty Ron or anyone else has not been arrested doesnt mean anything

And just because they have NOT, does not give anyone the right to rip them apart. They are victims too.

I think too many people are used to the Anthony case and just assume this is family related.

Haleigh's Mother: (this address is temporary)
Crystal Sheffield c/o Jamie W. ***highway 17 south, San Mateo Fl. 32187

http://www.findhaleigh.com/

This indicates that address is for Crystal Sheffield not Ron

Great Grandma said she was the last one to see Haleigh at 7pm.I have to look back and see what her criminal charge is,I can't remember. There's surely no way to verify if she really saw her at 7pm.Who's Jamie Watts?

Is this the person who was representing the funeral home that opened the account for Ron's family?

I totally agree with you and I was babysitting at age 11 and there are many kids that could handle this and demonstrate responsibility.
Perhaps I should have said that Misty does not seem to be the babysitter I would have chosen. Potential substance abuse issues, and other issues. Not saying she did not love the kids or that she hurt Hayleigh.

She just would not be my choice. She was much more than a babysitter, she was a fulltime surrogate mother. This was a home CPS or is it DCF visited on numerous occ in 5 months. I believe she was not ready for this role for a number of reasons but it was Ron's responsibilty, he was the custodial parent.
I think his choices resulted in Hayleigh's disappearance.

Do you have a link that talks about DCF being to the home numerous times in the last 5 months? I know they visited after Marie filed a complaint but I hadn't seen anything saying DCF has been there numerous times in the last 5 months.
