I generally don’t like the idea of blaming others for someone’s poor decisions but it sounds like JK was well over the line and should have been noticed. That’s just my opinion and I have known/know people who can drink a lot without being obvious.

Although she was initially denied bond, her attorneys, Christopher Gramiccioni and Nathan Williams, have filed a motion asking for bond set at $100,000.

As part of that bond, the attorneys have suggested that Komoroski attend and complete an inpatient rehab program before going to stay at her mother's home in New Jersey, where there would be no access to alcohol or a vehicle.

The attorneys also slammed the portrait of a 'villain' that they claim the media have concocted of their client.

'Certain media reports paint a picture of the accused as an unrepentant villain who ostensibly had a history of partying behavior, extrapolated from handpicked photographs posted to social accounts appearing to depict the accused attending a Halloween party or socializing with friends while in college,' read the motion.

Komoroski Complains in New Jailhouse Call Record

This woman is a piece of work. Even in recorded jailhouse calls, all she's talking about is how this has impacted HER. The most infuriating thing she said was "my whole life is going to be over". As opposed to Samantha here whose life is actually, literally over because of decisions she made. I do appreciate her father basically telling her to suck it up though.

But I get the feeling Ms. Komoroski isn't used to taking accountability for anything - MOO of course - and now that the state of SC is forcing her to, it's a bitter pill to swallow. And no, you don't drive drunk and kill a passenger how she did and just walk away. Wonder how long it'll be before reality sets in on her?

Hopefully, those calls will be part of her trial. "I just want it all to be over." Yes, dear, it is all over for Samantha. I'm waiting to read she is related to the Murdaughs with that attitude.

Perhaps the prosecutor can ask that question to Samantha's friends. After playing the calls, call them to the stand and ask "And how many times did Samantha call you after the accident and get to cry on your shoulder?" None because she's deceased due to this defendants actions. Nothing further, your Honor.

Sorry, but I am not seeing much regret for the result of this young woman's choices that fateful day.
Nor have I read where she apologized or expressed deep remorse.
Imo.

Many years ago, an elderly friend of my grandparents passed and his widow said that as a snowplow driver for a large city, he accidentally plowed snow over and tragically killed two young children who were playing on the other side of the snowbank.
It was deemed to be an accident and he wasn't charged.
His widow said he never really got over it !

How horrible that this lady died on what should have been her happiest day .
Cannot imagine the depths of grief her new husband is enduring, let alone her family.

Rest in gentle peace, Samantha !

I wonder if Komoroski would have lashed out at anyone who attempted to stop her ?
Maybe people feared to confront her ?

That’s why I’m so interested in her doings in the hours before. I would think if the were making trouble in those bars she would have been bounced. This girl did some real deal drinking somewhere and somehow.

It takes a bit of doing to get to a b.a.c. of 0.261. I wonder, did she take off from work early that day, go to Folly Beach for lunch, and start drinking then? She could have had 3 drinks in each of multiple watering holes, making it hard for bartenders to keep track of how much she'd had.

I suppose the (civil) trial(s) will clarify the matter.

In a video, WCBD News2 discusses the lawsuit by mapping out Jamie's bar-hopping path that evening, which started well to the north of Folly Beach at the El Gallo bar and grill on Daniel Island, and ending with the crash.

With the ease of using an Uber app, and the relative inexpensive ride, there is zero excuse to drive impaired. You know when you have had too much to drink.
She seems like a functioning alcoholic who not only did not know when she had had too much, her life in the fast lane made her totally oblivious to the existence of any limits. The sky was the limit for her--until suddenly it wasn't. MOO

I have to agree. She had been doing this for a while and really didn't even think about it any more.
