According to the police report, Randa Massey, 20, was walking on Ocean Boulevard near the BlueWater Resort around 4:30 p.m. when she heard what sounded like a van "creep up behind her."

Massey told police two men jumped from the van and tried to pull her into the van, but when she elbowed one of them in the face, she broke free.

Both cases look very similar. Maybe the same blue van was used. Is there any info on the make and model or size of the van? If this van can some how be found, or tied to anyone in MCVille, or a cell number in the Tower Dump... how many blue vans belonging to shady characters could there be?

yeah its a lot of work, iv done it before not for a cime or anything it was actually for servicing and to do with some data laws over here

but the easiest way to find this information would be to already have the cell numbers somehow

The Myrtle Beach metropolitan area had an estimated population in 2019 of 480,891. that is without spring break attendance which could make it swell it says an extra 100,000 people attend for spring break festivities so you are talking about just under 600,000 people and their cell phones, also lots of systems work through sms and phone calls, think back to base alarms, security for businesses and heaps of other services throughout town emergency systems automated systems etc

which if this cell tower is the one which serves the inner most portion of town yeah it could be insane trying to reverse engineer the information they need

you also have to consider 9pm is prime time for spring break its just about when everyone is getting ready to continue their partying through the night so it would be considered peak time for sms's and phone calls

not trying to shoot you down just trying to work it out

From what I can understand from the Tower Dump news article, I think LE would request the numbers from the carriers only for the areas and times of interest, and not the entire city. This would likely narrow down the numbers.... but who knows... but with the age of google and all the new high tech stuff I can't believe any size of data would/should limit a child abduction case.

we're back to the original issue, hopefully they know what they are looking for , because we can't limit to an geographical area towers can be hit from many miles away some phones can even be forced to use specific towers

the only way to do it easily would be to know what you are looking for or send a subpena to the telecommunications company for records for XYZ person and correspond those results to the tower dump

i kinda wish we could find out if it was done and what information if anything they were able to figure out from it

Its been awhile, but they did locate all the nearest towers. its back in the older threads. one tower is about a mile from ST'S trailer and the stash house is 1/2 mile from ST's trailer. I have see his trailer, stash house, and the tower. Very familiar with the area. They had some pictures some specialist did showing Trianglations of the towers.

I've heard the same.

When this case hit, I was living in Columbia. Locals there had told me "don't go to Myrtle Beach". At the most, people from outside of MB might go there for a concert then they leave.

I prefer the beaches near Charleston, especially during the off-season when it's peaceful and cheap.

I’ve lived in Myrtle Beach for 16 years and lived about an hour away for the 23 years before that.

MB has definitely lost some of its appeal over the years. It's not nearly as wholesome as it was back in the 80’s, but I think the same can be said for most places. However, I’ve never heard/seen any mention of sex trafficking since I’ve been here and I’ve certainly never seen any discarded needles lying around anywhere.

As you mentioned, the boulevard area really changed after Burroughs and Chapin tore down the MB Pavilion. There just aren’t many family attractions in that particular area anymore, other than a few beachwear shops or beach/water related activities.

A majority of the criminal activity that occurs on the boulevard is gang related and the perpetrators often don’t even live here. Many are residents of Greenville, Chesterfield, Summerville, or Robeson County. The city continues to hire more police officers and have amassed a network of nearly 1,000 cameras and plate readers. Unfortunately, it’s extremely hard to prevent violence that is perpetrated by offenders who aren’t known to law enforcement and when the original disputes originate elsewhere.

According to information from the Myrtle Beach Police Department, the members had an ongoing issue in their home community, traveled to Myrtle Beach, and “continued their conflict with reckless acts in our community.”

Myrtle Beach police announced late Monday that they arrested Anthony Griffin, 17, of Pageland, Quandre Tyson, 20, of Pageland. Both are charged with seven counts of attempted murder.

Police also announced that Dewon Cole, 18, of Kershaw, who they said is active duty in the U.S. Navy, was also arrested in connection to the shooting. They said he is in custody in Norfolk, Virginia and is awaiting extradition to South Carolina.

Six Lumberton men charged in the Sunday shooting on Ocean Boulevard that left four people injured were in court Tuesday.

The Memorial Day shooting is the second of three shootings to take place in the area within a week.

Greenwood resident Kemian Masonte’ Reese, 22, is charged with murder, unlawful carry and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in relation to the Monday shooting of Cadric Elmore Jr. at 15th Avenue South and Ocean Boulevard, according to WMBF News.

“For the 3rd time in one week our community has been violated by gang violence from outside of our borders. They brought their rivalries and disputes to MB to fight and that is not acceptable,” a Monday statement by Myrtle Beach Mayor Brenda Bethune reads.”

I don’t buy some activists’ claims that gangs provide a surrogate family for their members, many of whom come from broken homes and lack parental guidance. The bottom line is people in groups are emboldened to commit crimes they wouldn’t otherwise commit. Horrific, inhumanly cruel crimes like what happened to Brittanee Drexel. Human trafficking, especially sex trafficking, is largely the realm of “gangs”. I don’t think trafficking gets the attention it fully deserves because many people don’t seem to know what the word “trafficking” means. Let’s call it what it is: slavery. And “sex trafficking” is commercialized rape. That means it’s not just the traffickers who are a problem, but it’s also the many clients they cater to. To me, human/sex trafficking is one of the worst crimes a person can commit, and should carry the same stigma as rape and murder. Until the punishments start matching the crimes, it will continue. Sadly, it’s too lucrative not to.

all of what you said is true but at the same time, what you say "activists claim" is also true. its not a defense of their actions. most grow up in fractured families and lack guidance from early on then fall into the gang life and commit crimes. its just a fact.

Thanks for sharing this article, as it’s the first I’ve heard about it. It’s good to know the community is staying vigilant and that suspected cases are being reported to the hotline.

Horry County covers A LOT of area — it’s the largest county in the state. Factor in the roughly 19 million people who visit MB every year, and I’m not surprised to learn they had the highest number of reports last year. Although, none of that negates the seriousness of the matter and the stats are unsettling (to say the least).

I saw the special coming on this Sunday and decided to come back here and refresh myself with the feed. I think it's been years since I have read Britt's threads. THIS piece from Chad wasn't something I ever remember hearing at all. I also don't remember them ever releasing it either. Very shocking. The part about RM too- years ago I had been in NC/SC for an event and talked to LE who told me that ST was def NOT involved in that case. This just burned me to hear.

On a diff topic. In refreshing myself I noticed a lot of people had a hard time thinking that Britt could be "grabbed" by someone and wondered if people forgot about her vision issue. Here's an article that touches on it. Also, does anyone else remember hearing that ST's son had an issue with his arm(partial amputation maybe?) where this vision problem would also make it easier for him to grab her because he would have to come up from behind. It would also make me think he wouldn't ever do it alone. Just some random thoughts is all.
