Clowns sighted in McDuffie County, parents worried

Reports of clowns hanging around residential areas in South Carolina have been making national headlines. And now, reports of clowns are coming out of McDuffie County.

Chief Deputy Ronnie Williamson says the McDuffie County Sheriff's Office has received two calls reporting clown sightings in the county. At 11:46 p.m. on Sept. 11, a caller reported seeing a clown standing on the side of State highway 221 between Hobbs Road and the Jefferson County line. And on Sept. 13 at 6:37 a.m., a caller reported at clown chasing children from a school bus stop in the area around Davis Circle.

Chief Deputy Williamson says the sheriff's office is taking the sightings seriously and will press criminal charges once the suspect or suspects are caught.

In the state of Georgia, it is illegal to wear a mask, hood or any other device that conceals the person's identity while in public or on private property without the owner's permission.

Somewhere there is an entire thread about juggalos being 'involved' or suspected, in various cases.

IIRC, there were several cases in which the Person Of Interest was an Insane Clown Posse fan/Juggalo. For example, the live-in boyfriend, of Billie Dunn, the declared suspect in Hailey's murder, was a juggle, and had a collection of macabre death masks and serial killer memorabilia.

Also, there were assorted juggaloes surrounding the Hayley Cummings mystery, and a few more cases that I cannot remember just now.

I haven't read through the thread completely yet so I hope this hasn't been asked, could you provide the websleuths link for this juggalo thread? I'm curious.

There has been action in the Flomo Klown case.
Makayla Smith, 22, of Flomaton was arrested for making a terroristic threat in connection to the case, which is a felony.
Escambia County (Alabama) Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy, Mike Lambert, says there have been several copycats and rumors circulating around the Southeast region Friday, with people saying they have seen clowns. However, he said, "we know we have the creators of the Flomo Klowns."

Calhoun County Chief Deputy Matthew Wade said a 16-year-old was arrested Monday after being accused of posting under the name "Billy the Klown" that he planned to shoot up Saks Middle School.

The teen is being charged with making a terroristc threat, which is a felony. Wade said the sheriff's office plans to go after everyone making these threats and additional arrests are expected.

Police later said they did not believe the threats were credible, but said any person found to be causing the evacuation of buildings, disrupting school activities or terrorizing another person will be prosecuted for making terroristic threats, which is a class C felony.

The first report was made Monday morning around 4 a.m. when passersby told police they saw the alleged clown standing in a wooded area off Edwards Street. Police searched the area, but the clown was not spotted by authorities.

Kentucky police have arrested a man dressed as a clown lurking in a wooded area amid a wave of clown reports in at least six US states.

Jonathan Martin, 20, was charged with wearing a mask in a public place and disorderly conduct in Middlesboro.
He was found at about 0100 EST (0600 GMT) on Friday in "full clown costume" and mask crouching among trees by an apartment complex, according to police.
