Hey guys. My sister lives in the area and drove by to get a feel for the lay of the land. She has dial-up, so she isn't a memeber right now, but she emailed me this to post to all of you:
"When you exit of I-85, you turn right onto White Horse Road. This places you in an area of empty buildings such as a closed McDonalds. After about one block the mother could have turned right onto a Frontage Road. This scenery is hard to imagine from busy White Horse Road. It is country again immediately after turning, almost nothing but trees on each side of the road, no houses. About a mile from there, is a stop sign where you turn right on Jacobs road and there are no houses here either. If you turn or look left at the stop sign, you see where the boy was murdered. There is a drive way that is grown up and abandoned except for what looks like a lovers parking spot. This is all over grown with weeds. To turn left turn would place one going by where Devon was killed. This is about twenty steps from the stop sign. IF a man ran from this point, he would run through about a block of undergrowth and weeds and would be in the back parking lot of an older Waffle House that is set back off of the road. It would be an easy pick up spot if someone were waiting.
I too have my opinion about the mother but somehow I still hold out hope that a mother did not do this. A man serving time in prison for non support comes in contact with the type that would do anything for a fix. It would also be easy for a man to say he is not my kid why spend my life supporting the child of this woman. Hopefully some good will come from this and we can all be more aware of the needs of children and what goes on around us. Open our ears and eyes a little more and be helpful while a child is living. All you sleuths keep up the good work and hopefully this will be solved soon. I think it will be solved."
