HE had only lived at that apt a few weeks I seem to remember and her flatmate had gone home to her family for the Christmas holidays. She was alone. If this was her first time living away from home, Heather would likely be a bit lonely coming home to an empty apartment. After the bosom of a loving family environment, a quiet apartment could be quite spooky.

If it were me I'd be thinking of all the people I could talk to at this time of night, as a distraction if nothing else. Then I'd go on social media and post my thoughts. That done, what next? Heather could have gone out rather than stay home after that.

Sitting at the PTL could have held really good memories for her. If PTL were a safe place, I know I'd love to be by the water as dawn approached - to listen to the frogs and birds and nature wake up. It would cheer me up from any loneliness I might have been feeling. That's all conjecture of course, from my perspective.

I dont suppose the apartment complex has CCTV? In the entrance hall? Or even better, throughout the common property? ie hallways, stairwells, outer areas etc

I asked this question a long time ago. First answer I was told 'no', but from someone who drove by and tried to spot cameras.
Later I read there may have been cameras in the parking lot. :banghead:
At the time, it sounded like a scare tactic to me but I'm hoping it proved to be true.
Here's another example of a question where answers are difficult to come by.
Someone should know the answer to the apt. camera question imo. For instance, the roommate would know imo.

Really though if these places are rented out to vacationers, they'd better start putting cameras around the grounds and in the hallways (like a hotel) because there's nasty stuff happening in Myrtle Beach.

One would think even the property manager or "on site" custodian would be able to answer that. Or the Owners Corporation or Strata Manager? Surely a quick phone call would suffice?

You pretty much described how I pictured things going from the beginning. The only difference in my thinking is that because she was lonely, I think she wanted to be around people (person). That is what I think made her leave the condo.

Verified: Heather Elvis has been missing since - umm - Tuesday, no I meant, Wednesday, December 17th - umm - no, I meant, December 18th. Yes, Wednesday, the 18th (based on hearsay as we've not seen any supporting data).

Verified: HE's car was noticed parked at PTL on Monday - umm - no, sorry must have been a mistake - umm, nevermind we don't know for sure. But, it was discovered at PTL late in the day, umm, I think - on Thursday, December 19th. Yes, Thursday, the 19th.

Every detail is like pulling teeth. We know Heather is missing and that her car was found at PTL on December 19th.

We don't even know the last time she was at work. Some thought Sunday, I heard Tuesday, etc.
One (that be me) would think someone would be interested in narrowing down the most specific timeline possible as to her comings and goings leading up to her date.
I'd like to know if they drank a lot, if HE was high when she got home.
If she was 'happy' she may have been prone to wallow over emotional problems involving bfs when she turned 'sad'. Still, if her date went so well, why?
Maybe because you can't immediately go to cuddle mode with someone you just met?
Cuddling doesn't really match one of her other known options either.
Would it fit with another option that may have been available though?

After a successful date, why not fall into bed and go to sleep?
One reason is if someone was bugging you, true.
Was life always chaotic/dramatic like that or did something unique happen on December 17th that caused additional or renewed confusion?

Did her mom see her when HE picked her mail up on Tuesday prior to going on her date? Did HE share with her mom lots of info about her upcoming date?
Did she speak to her mom after her date ended because of her excitement earlier?

So many questions due to info that was put out in the beginning but just seemed to disappear. No confirmations or answers given.

Who contacted HE during or after her date? Was she contacted or did she?

From the little verified info I know (info with no facts attached - verifiable by phone data and possible other means that I haven't seen), there seems to be one logical scenario if the people/person involved are murderers despite the other situations going on in their lives.
I mean, is whoever nuts enough to trade salvageable parts of their life/lives in for life in prison? :dunno:

Or is someone watching this whole case play out (well, not play out as it hasn't yet) while sitting back thinking they have everyone fooled who is following this case including LE?
BBM: It is entirely possible that LE wants them to think that, and why it has been as it is. Just a consideration.

I do believe that the questions you ask here have been asked by LE and answered and LE knows the information. Sure WE would like to know the answers, but it's really not our business. None of the answers to those questions would make a difference in the public's safety.

And as an aside, the 20 year old who used to live with us called today and needed to babble at whomever was handy in the house for about two hours about her date with her knew guy. So for me, nope, don't think it's unusual at all for someone not to want to fall into bed after a successful date. For at least the 16 year old and 20 year old girls I am familiar with, they just want to talk about it, no matter the time.

Nice intro, BTW.

What is that? What is HE holding? Is that a person? I'm serious, I'm freaking out.

Well, ive been searching furiously for a contact person at the apartment complex, to no avail. I've even tried to access a copy of the building plans to see whether cameras were to be installed. Does anyone know who and/or which property manager looks after the complex? It's quite simple here in Australia to find this out at the click of a button. Not so in this case, but I'm probably doing it wrong, or something.

Does anyone know where I could find statistics on the estimated population in an area like Myrtle Beach without internet access ?

Are you trying to find out how many people are without internet access in an area like Myrtle Beach?
Sorry if this is a dumb question I was just confused by your question.

I didn't try calling the place (I believe the units are individually owned or maybe mixed* as well) but I tried looking up info about the complex, considering they rent out temporary units to families and thought security info might be noted on their advertising or rental listings.
Couldn't find anything written about security so figured there isn't any security offered. But can't say 100 percent that's true.

*By mixed I mean people who buy units for the purpose of renting them out.

I believe her father said in an interview that she had lived away from home prior to this recent apartment, but that she had only been there a few weeks. Will look for link.

I did exactly the sane as well. One would think that security (if any) would be a selling point.

On NG, Heather's mother said she did not know if the complex had any security, which I found a little surprising. Only because my mother would have known, lol.

It looks like a very "well to do" building and I'm AMAZED that it doesn't appear to have security.

Locking up in about 10 minutes or so, everybody.

Good morning!

Many of us have seen both copies of the police report. Let's pretend we haven't. Where would be looking? Who would we be looking at? What if time and energy is being spent in the wrong place?

But we have seen it. And what it showed matched my theory from before we did. So not sure how to go back in time to "before" especially when LE is not talking. Their prolonged silence makes me think they have POI's. JMO

If we had no other info, I'd be looking at a back of house restaurant employee with whom she did not actually have a relationship.
