They said they are currently concentrating the search efforts in neighborhoods around the school.

The sheriff’s office said members who are asking to help in the search are asked to not get out of their vehicles to begin searching “on foot” as there are K-9 units on the ground who operate off a scent.

I am glad that mom was able to get there quickly so she can search with them calling out for him. Sounds as if he is at his most verbal with her. Also very happy they've got the k-9s involved so quickly. They've asked nearby residents to check their property and any ring cameras and other surveillance.

How did this even happen? He was a little kid, little 8-year-olds aren't supposed to be able to get out of school, we're not talking about teens skipping class. Poor kid, and I can't even imagine what his family is feeling right now.

RIP little one my thoughts go out to his parents & friends.

How long had he escaped before the school noticed?

autistic children especially those non verbal are often obsessed with water.

In these cases as soon as you notice them missing you’re best off running to the nearest body of water as that’s usually where they are heading.

How did he get through the fence? This was completely preventable.

Schools aren't built like prisons and student aren't treated like prisoners. It's very sad this happened. He snuck away. Imo
