It's not making sense in the area, it it's well traveled. The truck looks completely burned out especially with tires completely missing. I think there will be further details as this evolves. So sad and devastating for the mommy, especially this time of year.

Unless it was an electrical and/or gasoline fire, I can't see how else it would've started......the truck doesn't look like it hit another car or object.

But you'd still have time to pull over and get out of the car quickly. No car would suddenly explode.....and I don't think this one did.

How strange he phoned his estranged wife/partner before calling 911 for fire rescue and paramedics.

I wonder if there is an issue surrounding custody....I hope he didn't do anything stupid to 'get back' at his wife.

MOO.

According to this news article, the name of the person who made the call to the mother is redacted in the police report. It does not say it was the father who called.
Ah, that puts a different spin on things then!

‘She could hear their child yelling’: Report details moments leading up to father, daughter disappearance

If I am reading this correctly, the wife gets a call from someone (redacted) who says her husband slid off the road and wrecked. The wife then calls her husband, he picks up - she hears her daughter yelling - and then the phone hangs up? She tries to call and text again, but gets no response.

Perhaps “redacted” was on the phone with him when this happened and “redacted” called the wife?

The timeline seems so long. He and his daughter's mother spoke in morn, ate somewhere, then to go to the library, then to see his mother. This seems to have happened in the dark, the awful event. These would be daytime things I have the impression. No 911 calls to police, fire found. I don't know that area at all, but maybe for some reason, it is secluded, that no one saw this truck burning, but then I thought I read it was in a swamp. No one saw a thing? How would he be sure that no one would come along. I just have awful feeling. Not having any reference to how that highway, area is, I can't picture how things would be. The autopsy will tell the story maybe, the terrible sad part. Beyond sorrow for the child's mother, grandmother, family, all that loved her. Her father as well if some terrible event happened on it's own.

The Calhoun County Coroner says an autopsy for Jason and Michelle Murph is scheduled for Friday. The coroner says Donnie Porth told WIS News 10 no foul play is suspected at this time.

while the print version of the article shows the name of the caller to wife is redacted in the police report, the video that accompanies the article states wife received the call from Jason about a wreck, the call is then ended (either he hung up or was disconnected) and she called back, got no response.

I guess the fact that the mother begged him to call 911 disturbs me, making it seem like some threat had been acted on, such as a custody dispute revenge.

On the other hand, maybe she was simply worried and distressed, as anyone would be to receive a call under those circumstances.
Maybe she thought he hit his head and couldn’t think to call for help.

This definitely makes the most sense because if (redacted) had visibly seen them go off the road and wreck, why wouldn’t they have stopped to help? Definitely seems like they (redacted) were at another location and either on the phone with Jason or maybe received a phone call from him after the fact? Maybe he was disoriented and that’s why the mother was “begging” him to call 911, because he didn’t seem like he was understanding what was going on/sounded out of it? So, so sad.

"Quentin Murph, Jason Murph’s cousin, expressed confusion and sorrow on Tuesday when speaking to WIS.

Quentin Murph said the two were heading from Blythewood to Orangeburg to visit Jason Murph’s mom, but they never made it.

He said he is confused about how the two ended up in the location they were found in because the area would not have been on the route to their destination."

Either got lost, or deliberately took a detour and alternate route.

MOOO just on the facts as I know them.

Jason's wife gets a phone call from him about having been in a wreck, in that call she hears their daughter yelling/screaming. She tries to discern if Jason (who may be injured, have a head injury or concussion) has called emergency responders. The call is then terminated, either through Jason hanging up or dropped call. Wife tries to call and text but receives no answer or response.

I suspect Jason was injured, possibly with a head injury. He manages to make a call but it is to his wife not 911. The call is disconnected and shortly thereafter Jason and Michelle succumb to catastrophic injuries.

JMO, but articles saying things like:
Jason Murph’s wife said she did not know where he was and that he hung up on the phone and refused to pick up. She could hear their child yelling in the background, the report says.

She sent text messages to Jason Murph where she begs him to call 911. He does not respond, according to the report.
‘She could hear their child yelling’: Report details moments leading up to father, daughter disappearance
are not factual but pure speculation by reporters. Jason's estranged wife and LE cannot know if Jason "hung up" on her and then "refused" to answer. Not answering a phone or texts does not indicate refusal to answer. It could just as easily mean was "unable" to answer due to what proved to be fatal injuries.

Until something is released by LE that indicates something other than:

Porth [coroner] told WIS News 10 no foul play is suspected at this time.

I think this was a tragic accident that affected many :(
