Found her. Juliet Teresa Turner went missing from Detroit in 2001: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/t/turner_juliet.html

I don't know if she's a good candidate or not. She's a bit too short at 5'2" and she's listed as blonde, though it looks bleached to me and darker at the roots. I'm not sure the facial resemblance is as strong as I initially thought, either. I attached a side by side.

On the other hand, she was living on a boat in Michigan before she apparently left her husband. She was 41 when she left in 2001, which would make her about 52 or 53 when Dolphin Lady was found.

I dunno. What do you guys think?

Another open case in Myrtle Beach is that of an unidentified woman, who was found dead May 25, 2013, on the beach near 24th Avenue South, authorities said.

"It's unusual," Myrtle Beach police Capt. David Knipes said of the woman not being claimed or identified. "We put it out everywhere to every national, international group and no one has come forward. Without having any identification on her or knowing where she's from, it's difficult"...

"It was just like she was dropped here out of nowhere," Edge said of the woman's case. "We had hopes someone would show up and want to claim her or be searching for her."

I can see why you thought of this lady and her resemblance to Dolphin Doe.
I looked at the photo and thought I can see Dolphin Doe in that photo of Juliet Teresa Turner.
Maybe it's the good dentals - The nose is different, but with the gap in years, its not impossible that Dolphin Doe had some surgery of some form.

I'm saying both yes and no - which means I cant call this one, but its a good find indeed.

Some of Turner's other photos show her nose as thinner than this photo does. I think surgery would have been noticed in the PM.

I'm inclined to "no" but I'm going to do some more research on Turner to see if the circumstances give any more clues.

Feeling sad to know this lady still unidentified. It seems so strange no one has come to claim her. There was a death in my ex husband's family last week. Young man only 39 years old. Died from alcohol induced bleeding. Sadly his mother had died only four months ago. He was homeless and that side of the family didn't know who should claim his body or make arrangements. His stepfather finally went ahead and planned funeral and got him buried in a military cemetery. What I am getting to is maybe someone would want to claim Dolphin Doe but is afraid they would then have to pay her funeral, etc.
I just felt so bad this young man was in the morgue for a week. So sad this poor lady has not had a proper burial

I have seen in other states near the border, that bodies often go unclaimed for the same reason as Strawberry Fields mentioned. They can't afford to transport and bury them. Just sad.

I've followed this case for a long time and every once and a while I do a search to try to find her identity and came up with this one. Let me know what you think! The missing person has a dolphin tattoo on the same ankle as UID, but also others not that were not mentioned as being found on the UID. Even though the tattoo facts don't match up exactly, it's hard to ignore the resemblance. She was last seen in 2007 and just reported missing recently. I left a message for the investigator several weeks ago and haven't heard back.

I agree there is a good resemblance there... until I saw the eyes. Jane Dolphin had blue eyes, Renee's are brown. That combined with the tattoo discrepancies make me thing she's not JD. Great find though! Nice work!

NamUs has the UID eyes listed as brown. This is mentioned a few times in this thread (only had time to quickly scanned posts up until page 9 or so) so not sure why the sketch doesn't match NamUs. I agree with you the tattoos do present a discrepancy!

That black and white photo of Deanna looks a lot like Jane Dolphin to me...

Couple of things to note on Joyanne Houk: She appears to have had a twin sister who died on Christmas 2003. (Almost exactly 9.5 years before our Dolphin Lady died.) It also looks like she was married at one time and had moved to Austin with her mother not long before she disappeared.

Arrest for public intoxication suggests she might have been drawn to the party beach scene. One thing: I assume her fingerprints are on file, but I've seen other cases where prints were on file and matches not caught that way.

Still thinking of Dolphin Doe.

Just wanting to add a name to list of possibles - though this lady went missing in 2008 - and there is no photo of her available.

Bumping for our Dolphin Lady. Was Googling and found this comment on a missing persons Facebook page. I don't see any follow up. Wonder if she ever contacted authorities?

OK, I am going to stick my neck out here........this was shared by a Pastor friend of mine that use to live in the area (Holden Beach).....he states that she came to his church for a little bit, and lived in a group home off of Seashore Rd. in Supply, N.C. My son and my husband swear this is the same woman who broke into our car last summer in the Foodlion parking lot in Supply. *******It may be worth locating the group home in this area and see if anyone there can i.d. her photo posted here. If she was here awhile some one in the H.B. area may know her; have the local news run the photo too!!!!! Hope this helps. We'll be praying for her family and loved ones.

It's been 2 years now and I can't find any updates more recent than a year and a half ago. So sad. Still thinking of her.
