Dylann Roof doesn't think crime scene photos should be disclosed in trial (with clip)

"...Another development Thursday, the government filed a motion requesting the court to prevent the publishing of certain pieces of evidence.

“The government requests that a very narrow subset of the trial evidence – namely, the evidence depicting the deceased victims at the crime scene – not be posted on the internet or made available for copying," one of the motions said.

The judge said he’ll review that motion. He said it’s something that “gravely concerns” him.

By the way, Roof was also asked about those photos.

“I don’t think they should be disclosed,” he said."

Very informative, IMO.

His possible defense- there is none, IMO,-

-a "martyr for his cause"- Hmmm- sounds about right to me. That's why he wants to be his own lawyer, IMO. He can try to spout his cause in court. Crazy.

Some misguided, IMO, people do agree with him. I hope they will not be on the jury ( incognito maybe?).

Jury pool complete at 67 in Dylann Roof federal hate crimes trial

"CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Jury selection in the federal hate crimes trial for accused Emanuel AME Church shooter Dylann Roof concluded on Friday evening with 67 prospective jurors, three short of the target.

U.S. District Court Judge Richard Gergel said law allows for a pool of 64, and he was satisfied with the group of 67.

That means the process would continue next Wednesday, and attorneys would empanel the final 12-member jury followed by opening arguments. Roof has motioned for a delay in the process. However, Gergel has not responded to that request.

A day after asking for an extra 24 hours to prepare for jury seating and opening arguments, Roof now wants to push back next week's trial processes until the end of the week.
In a motion filed Friday, Roof said "the unusual proceedings of the past three weeks" and quick rate of jury selection has not given him enough time to prepare motions in limine..."
