I think that’s on the Murdoch family (as in Rupert Murdoch). Very confusing—the trailer advertises the “empire of influence.”

I showed off my high level grammar with “add” too. Thanks, I just heard it and typed. We all are better off that I’m here and not actually making decisions with cases.

Could this relate to Judge CM?

South Carolina circuit court judge Daniel Hall has issued an order severing defendants in the Mallory Beach wrongful death lawsuit – the highest-profile civil action linked to the ‘Murdaugh Murders’ crime and corruption saga.

Hall’s order also set October 10, 2022 as the trial date for the case against the first defendants – convenience store czar Greg Parker and his Parker’s Kitchen chain of gas stations.

Hall ruled without offering any justification for his decisions. His notification (.pdf) – filed in Hampton County early Wednesday morning (September 7, 2022) – merely indicated he had reached his decision after “careful consideration.”

Beach family attorney Mark Tinsley – who opposed the severing of defendants in this case – told this news outlet he was in the process of weighing his options with his client. Tinsley did not rule out filing an appeal of Hall’s order in the event the judge declined to reconsider it.

Here we go again: <snipped>

Arthur Badger Jr. became a single father of six on January 28, 2011, when a UPS truck drifted across the center line on U.S. 278 in Allendale County.

In an instant, Donna Hay Badger, 35, was gone. Arthur, who was driving, remembers every moment of the collision that caused the death of his wife and partner of 12 years, but he doesn’t like to talk about it.

Arthur’s attorney, Alex Murdaugh, negotiated a multi-million dollar settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit against UPS in late 2012.

Then came the betrayal. In the years following the wreck, Murdaugh, along with former Palmetto State Bank CEO Russell Laffitte, quietly stole more than $1.3 million from Donna Badger’s estate, where the settlement money had been placed, according to state and federal indictments.

Murdaugh stole his money, lawsuit says. Then, companies got his children’s millions

There is absolutely no bar low enough for these scum in suits!
Stealing from 6 children who tragically lost their mother
Are they even human?

As they go through what must be a long list of cases in which Alex represented clients in settlements, I wonder what the final number will be. If he had ever represented me, I'd be asking a lot of questions right now.

Cowboy “cousins” Jerry Rivers, 39, and his friend Spencer Anwan Roberts, 34, were indicted Aug. 19 on charges that prosecutors say involve possibly being part of Murdaugh’s alleged drug and money laundering pipeline in the Low Country.

Murdaugh now faces a total of 90 charges of financial wrongdoing, including recent allegations that he was involved in drug distribution and money laundering across several counties here.

Locals speculate that Murdaugh’s alleged drug operation was bigger than anyone realizes.

“I’m going to tell you something,” another man at the gang member’s house told The Post. “Alex Murdaugh is running half the drugs in this county.”

So the writer of this must be reading here? At least it appears to mention early posts from here.

The part where Smiths sister in law recalls ES as a straight up hard working guy until he met the opiate addiction is a common story. So common.

Thats an interesting comment about LE trying to stir in “The Cowboys” to muddy the water too as that can’t be discounted. There’s no quicker way to throw a narrative than pointing to a black gang rather than anything the cops could be doing.

This tale of the old drug smuggling operation and the Ms “running half the drugs in this county” may have some truth but it’s suspect. I’ve heard these same old lines about every successful person in my area for decades. They are always “the dope man”. Many times these things are said due to jealousy.

The headline is a bit misleading. The state is requesting reciprocal discovery.
<snipped>

The motion also requests that:

  • If Murdaugh intends to rely on the defenses of insanity, mental illness, entrapment, or duress, he must give notice within ten days.
  • If Murdaugh intends to introduce any sort of alibi defense, then he must notify the state within ten days and release the specific place or places that Murdaugh claims to have been at the time of the murders, as well as the names and addresses of the witnesses he intends to rely on to establish that alibi.
  • If Murdaugh intends to rely on the defense of necessity, he must give notice within ten days.
  • Finally, the motion adds that under Rule 5 disclosure laws, Murdaugh's defense team has a "continuing duty" to disclose additional evidence, material or witnesses.
it is not clear when Judge Newman will rule on the motion.

While no trial date has been set for this case, Murdaugh's team has submitted a request to the state courts administration for a January trial date.

Atlanta-based financial firm Forge Consulting is threatening to sue Alex Murdaugh and Bank of America over Murdaugh's alleged use of a fake "Forge" bank account to steal millions of dollars owed to his associates in legal settlements. Murdaugh set up the account at BofA.

Murdaugh used that fraudulent "Forge" account to steal more than $3 million from a pair of settlements owed to the sons of Gloria Satterfield, his longtime nanny/housekeeper, according to lawsuits and criminal charging documents. He disguised it to look like a real Forge account.

The SC State Grand Jury is now firing back with a counter motion of its own, filed Thursday, Sept. 8, as a "Motion for Reciprocal Discovery and Disclosure of Evidence." This motion demands that Murdaugh's attorneys provide to the state any materials they plan to use as evidence in the trial, as well.

Wow, I had no idea that prosecutors could get materials relating to their strategy and evidence. I thought only the State's evidence was subject to discovery.

I thought information in a courtroom was pretty much everyday dealings. I just don’t trust anybody who seeks to control so much information that’s in the public’s interest. It’s just concerning from several angles.

The company is making their point and getting some headlines but I wouldn’t expect them to spend much chasing money they will never get. I don’t think BOA is losing sleep over this and will probably pay very little.
