Why do you think he did it?

ETA: Also, I don’t believe for 1 second he has a drug addiction. That reeks of a con man’s concoction to gain sympathy from the jury and public to help him with the financial crimes. And the murder charges. I can’t remember if there was any independent evidence that he was an addict? This is the one area where I agree with the state’s characterization of his sympathy seeking behavior.
I think he did do drugs but I never believed in the severe drug addiction either. While it is possible to take that many drugs, but not without the side effects of weight loss, poor performance, etc. people would have known. Agree they were absolutely trying to set up the drugs made me do it defense. moo

I’ve always found it a bit odd when Prosecutors speak post-verdict and mention how “blood, sweat, and tears” went into building their murder case.

It’s minor but I’ve also thought the hugging and congrats like talk to one another after a verdict is also strange. No matter what, there’s no “winners” here. Two people lost their lives, one person was found legally responsible for their deaths, and countless friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who knows or knew of the Murdaugh family has their live forever changed in some way after all of this. And, of course, one man loses his freedom as a result of being found legally responsible for these heinous crimes. There are never any “winners” in homicide cases, there are “losers” all around. Always so tragic, and always so sad. JMOO.
These people work their asses off to get justice for victims. They aren’t attorneys to make millions, they do it to uphold the law. They don’t pick their cases, they speak for the victims. The are not celebrating WINNING they are celebrating justice! There is a huge difference. I hope that helps you see a different view. They have been away from their families in hotels running on fumes on the frontline in this battle. Their hearts broke everytime they had to look at that evidence some in person. They will be affected for a lifetime for what AM did to his family. The thought of him not being held accountable is sickening. They are celebrating that he can’t kill anyone else except himself.

Interesting. The case of the husband alleged to have slain Aan Walshe interests me. As does the long unsolved question of where is Jennifer Dulos’ body and what becomes of the girlfriend and attorney in that case. Might see y’all on those. Best to all that followed this sad tragedy story. MOO.

Today is the first day of the rest of your l̶i̶f̶e̶ sentence, Alec. Too bad you won't be able to pocket any creature comforts on your way out the door.

Bummer.

And I don’t suppose prison cots are designed for 6'4.

Sorry, not sorry.

Reserve me a spot, @Edvis. I'll be hopping aboard with my deviled eggs this morning at the Whistle Stop in Bugtussle, Alabama. (Don't blow by me!) I'm recovering from an all-nighter, spent hovering over a hot stove -- a burlin' dem eggs for today's celebration!
Always, were all sleuthing family now.

My ex BIL did about 30 to 40 a day. He ended up in the hospital, with the nurses saying they had never seen anyone vomit so much blood. He almost died. He is still alive and has gone off his rocker. He is physically abusive. My sister divorced him and his latest soulmate broke up with him because of abuse. He started off an alcoholic.

I couldn’t figure out how to post a link from this from The Independent so I just copied and pasted some of the article. I hope that’s okay. If you’re looking for the article just google Murdaugh jury. I also wasn’t sure about whether we were allowed to post a juror’s name even after they speak to the press so I replaced the juroro’s name with …

Alex Murdaugh juror reveals what led panel to find him guilty of murder

…. said that Murdaugh’s lack of remorse, crocodile tears and the damning cellphone video captured by Paul minutes before his murder convinced the panel of his guilt

The juror gave a glimpse behind the scenes of the jury room where deliberations took less than three hours before a unanimous verdict was reached.

Taking an initial poll as soon as they were handed the case, Mr … said that nine jurors voted guilty, two innocent and one was on the fence.

Mr … said that the holdouts had questions about the shotgun shells on the scene, after the defence had pushed the theory that there may have been two shooters responsible for the brutal murders.

But, utlimately, it took just 45 minutes to reach a unanimous verdict.

Not long into deliberations the panel asked for a monitor to view the bodycam footage from the first officer arriving on the scene.

After another vote, Mr … said “the evidence was clear” and – less than three hours after they first got the case – the verdict was reached.
