Colleton County Sheriff’s Deputies has resumed the search for three missing children in Smoaks. Two girls, 2-years-old and 4-years-old, and a 3-year-old-boy have been missing since 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9 on Bent Gate Ln in Colleton County.

The search was called off shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Thursday morning so detectives could rest.

Thursday’s search consists of an ATV, a search plane, a helicopter and men on the ground.

The mother and grandmother of the missing girls said that they know the kids weren’t playing in the woods because “that’s not what they do.”

The 3-year-old boy was last seen wearing a green shirt with camouflage sleeves. The shirt had orange trim around it. He was wearing blue jeans and blue Sperry type shoes with Velcro straps.

The 2-year-old girl was last seen wearing a pink shirt with light pink shorts and had on black boots with fur on the inside.

The 4-year-old girl was last seen wearing a pink dress and had on black boots with fur on the inside. The girls are sisters.

Earlier, officials said the children may have wandered away. The children's guardian, Willie D. Williams, believes they were taken.

"I know somebody got my kids," he said. "They're not in the woods, they're missing."

Wilson said the kids came home from school, did homework and went outside to play before they disappeared.

Officials say the two girls are sisters and the little boy is their cousin.

At least the weather has been relatively warm and dry. Praying these babies are somewhere together and safe.

anybody pulled up a map yet? On my way to work but hoping for no nearby bodies of water. They are so little :(

If you go to the video from two hours ago, the reporter said the guardian was with the children, turned his back to talk to a neighbor, and the kids were gone when he turned back around.

Why would anyone take 3 children? One wouLd be hard enough to hide, but three would be extremely difficult IMO.

Unless the perp had ulterior motives and my mind does not want to go there. Here you have a 3 and 4 year old who are at a very imaginative age. Let's hope they were pretending and wandered without knowing the way home.

Well if they're quoting the "legal guardian", I'd say a parental abduction sounds like a possibility here.

But...2, 3, and 4 year olds have homework?

Lt. Shane Roberts said the children, Mya, Eugene and Shamyra, were playing in the front yard but when their parent/guardian went outside to check on them, they were not there.

After looking at photos of where they went missing from, IMO, if anyone was outside with the children, they probably would have seen or heard a vehicle if they were abducted. This is a very rural area on a dirt road it appears.

Annie Taylor with WCBD stated they spoke to the guardian, and that was what he told her as she reported it. Miscommunication maybe?

I believe it, I'm just pointing out inconsistencies in the families' stories, not faulting MSM at all.

It's amazing, what you learn on these missing children stories from across the country. The three children usually took a school bus - around 7 a.m. apparently every school day. A two year old, takes a school bus to school and then comes home and does homework. *baffling*

So the guardian appears to be her great-uncle, and he was outside with neighbors, who presumedly can verify the children were out there playing when they were suddenly gone. My guess is, they all wandered off.

Prayers that they be discovered safe and sound this morning.
