Simpsonville woman charged with homicide by child abuse has SC teaching certificate suspended

"
On Jan. 21, the chair of the South Carolina State Board of Education considered and ordered that Ariel Robinson’s professional educator certificate be suspended.

According to the Order of Summary from the Board of Education, Robinson has held a valid professional educator certificate and has over three years of educator experience.

She has reportedly not worked as an educator in South Carolina since 2019.

“The SCDE has reason to believe that, due to the serious nature of this allegation
of misconduct, Ms. Robinson may pose a threat to the health, safety, and welfare of
students who may be under her instruction, and that emergency action is required. After
considering the evidence presented by the SCDE, the Chair of the State Board finds that
Ms. Robinson’s educator certificate shall be summarily suspended until a due process
hearing is held and/or this matter is otherwise resolved. The SCDE is directed to serve
notice on Ms. Robinson of the summary suspension, as well as the possible suspension or
revocation of her educator certificate.”

ONLY on FOX: Biological mom fighting to be involved in funeral plans after police say toddler was killed by cooking show contestant

"We were told by officials that the family court judge assigned could decide who gets custody of Victoria's body at any moment.

Casie says she is doing what she can to share her story, own up to her mistakes, but make a plea to the judge here at family court to let her in.

It's been 13 days since the Greenville County coroner says 3 year old Victoria Rose Smith was pronounced dead after deputies responded to a call to a Simpsonville home. Casie Phares says that was her daughter, who she signed her parental rights away to before they were placed into foster care."

Family member: System failed Simpsonville child who died in abuse case (greenvilleonline.com)

The biological family of a 3-year-old girl who police say was killed while in the care of a Simpsonville couple is feeling anger as well as grief.

Victoria Rose Smith, who lived with Jerry Robinson, 34, and Ariel Robinson, 29, in Simpsonville, died from multiple blunt-force injuries after being found unresponsive at a residence on Sellwood Circle on the afternoon of Jan. 14, according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office.

The Robinsons were each charged with homicide by child abuse, which carries a sentence of 20 years up to life in prison. They are being held in the Greenville County Detention Center without bond, according to jail records, and neither had an attorney listed in online court records as of Monday...

'She was sweet as could possibly be': former foster family remembers Tori Smith (wspa.com)

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA)- According to Greenville County coroner Kent Dill, three-year-old homicide victim Victoria Rose Smith had been a foster child.

Smith died Thursday, according to the coroner. Jerry and Ariel Robinson would charged with homicide by child abuse five days later. Warrants stated they were responsible for the victims care and welfare.

“She was sweet as could possibly be, so it makes no sense how somebody could hurt her in any kind of way,” said Alan West. West said his aunt was the baby’s foster mother for nearly a year before she went to live with the Robinson family...

Just saw this. What a sad horrible case. I checked out ARs ig- the pics she has of VRS are very sad and telling. Literally this abuse was going on for months... multiple pics of VRS with a black eye, some with bruising on the neck, she’s emacited in all of them. It’s so sad to look at the pics provided by the bio and foster families prior to March 2020. A total difference in everything! Weight, emotions, everything! I’m shocked that AR wasn’t mandated to take this child to a doctor for a checkup because anyone who is trained would have seen this abuse miles away. Very sad.

I have seen some ugly videos as well. ( UN-approved sites per WS ) It seems that AR was a wanna be comedienne, along with winning the worst cook in America and being an educator. RIP little Victoria Rose. And prayers up too for the 4 other littles in that home.

Something is off. I’ve watched videos and all the children looked happy and well taken care of.

Really? You must have seen the opposite to what I have. Foster mums SM photos/videos says otherwise to me. Poor girl looked malnourished. Even more heartbreaking when I found photos before she was in this woman's care and she looked so healthy.

Looks like AR treated her like a little doll, the hairstyles (some looked like could possibly have hurt with the red marks), the outfits, showing her off more than the rest.

Disgusting people.

(Also astounding to learn of tv series: Worst Cooks in America)

O/T This thread is about the little girl who died at the hands of these two child killers, but if you haven't ever watched "Worst Cooks", it might be helpful to know something about the Food Network reality show. I watched the first season or two and thought that most of the "recruits" were sincere in their desire to learn basic culinary skills. Early contestants included engaged young woman who wanted to be able to cook for her future husband. Newlywed who wanted to be able to host Thanksgiving for her husband's family. Single men who wanted to be able to cook instead of eating fast food all the time. The early seasons were more about learning culinary skills and actually cooking. There was usually some drama, a fire on the set, someone getting hurt, etc., but nothing compared to what the show has become. Now, it's all about the drama, the individual personalities of the "recruits", interactions with other contestants and the show's hosts. Contestants seem to be cast on the reality show to see how ridiculous they can be  When I read that Ariel Robinson was a wanna-be comedienne, it was obvious that she was cast on "Worst Cooks" because she would be unbridled with funny antics and raw humor.
