“The lead singer of indie rock band Frightened Rabbit has been reported missing.

Scott Hutchison, 36, was last seen at the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry at around 1am this morning.

He had been reported missing from Dennistoun, Glasgow, by his family and concern is growing for his welfare.

Tweeting from his official account about two hours before he was last seen, the singer wrote: 'Be so good to everyone you love. It’s not a given.

'I’m so annoyed that it’s not. I didn’t live by that standard and it kills me. Please, hug your loved ones. I’m away now. Thanks.'

Hutchison sent some “worrying” tweets the day before he disappeared. “Be so good to everyone you love. It’s not a given. I’m so annoyed that it’s not. I didn’t live by that standard and it kills me. Please, hug your loved ones.” Shortly afterward he added: “I’m away now. Thanks.”

Oh, dear. I can completely understand where he is coming from. The lack of caring in this world can be overwhelming.

The family of Scott Hutchison, the singer-songwriter behind Scottish indie-rock band Frightened Rabbit, have reported him missing, the BBC reports. Hutchison, 36, was last seen this morning at the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry, Scotland, around 1 a.m. UK time. He is believed to have left for the nearby city of Edinburgh, where police are appealing for information on his whereabouts.

Inspector Graeme Dignan told the BBC: “We are keen to locate Scott as soon as possible to ensure he is safe and well and would urge anyone who can assist with our ongoing inquiries to come forward. If you believe you have seen him since the early hours of Wednesday morning or know where he currently is, then please contact police immediately. I’d also urge Scott to get in touch with family, friends or with police, to let us know he is alright.”

Thank you for the above link, gregjrichards. From the link his brother Grant, who is also a member of that band, posted on Instagram:

"Has anyone seen my brother/bandmate/best friend? He's in a very fragile state and has been missing since last night and we're all incredibly worried..."

"...His phone is with the police. If somehow you are reading this Scott then can you just let someone know you're safe please? We love you very much."

Hate to read that he does not have his phone with him. Not a good sign at all.

My heart really goes out to his brother and the rest of his family. How very scared they must be.

As a local and someone who enjoys the band this has been on my mind all day. It feels unusual that he would be staying at a hotel in South Queensferry when he lives in Glasgow; the fact that it's close to the bridge is hard to overlook.

I've been thinking about this song a lot today. I don't think it's supposed to be a sad song, exactly, but I'm afraid it will turn out to be too appropriate. I hope that I'm wrong, that he just wanted to get away for a while, and that he comes home safe soon.

Hearing about a bridge in close proximity made me think of Richey Edwards, who I was just thinking about the other day when I listened to Motorcycle Emptiness.

I didn't even know Stuart Adamson had died :-(

The pain in those lyrics, combined with the pain in the recent tweets is obviously a reason for serious concern :-/

"In particular, the two people who crossed the Forth Road Bridge from South Queensferry at 1.10am may have useful information and we are extremely keen to speak with them.

"Similarly, we would also urge others to come forward if they have any other information relevant to our investigation.

Meanwhile, Grant Hutchison, Scott's brother and bandmate in both Frightened Rabbit and Mastersystem, spoke to Radio X about the search, as Stereogum reports. "Just come back," he said in a direct plea to his brother. "There's nothing so insurmountable that we can't figure it out together and help you to get better. We're all here for you, and we all love you very much. You can see the support online, as well. Then just know that everyone loves you very much, and we just want you to come back and be safe."

Definitely not the bridge, looks like a hotel lobby to me. I hope he’s found safe, the Forth Road Bridge and the newer Queensferry Crossing are both scarily high :S
