Sure, but they have to have grounds to secure a warrant due to probable cause. Think Warren Jeffs. Here is a good article from this year about the compound in SD.

Lawmakers Going After FLDS Polygamy Compound in South Dakota – Rolling Stone
Any idea what the probable cause could be?

The Senator is asking people to: ''. Call South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and tell her you want the Warren Jeff's compound in Pringle to be searched for Serenity. "

What good will that do if there is no probable cause? Wouldn't/shouldn't the Senator know that?

So the child brides aren't all girls who have been born to women who live in the compounds? There are young girls who have been kidnapped from the 'outside' and forced to become brides?

It's rumored. I don't know of any case where it was actually true.

I'm not thinking she's actually there, just that if people have heard the rumors, that might be why they are pointing to the compound.

I guess it wouldn't surprise me if the Senator is basing her probable cause on rumors. She was driving around today while doing one of her FB live episodes. If you did that in my state, you'd get a citation for distracted driving accompanied by a $100 fine.

In the comments on the Thursday night video where Lynne talks about the compound, she replies after being asked about probable cause for a search warrant.

I know the FDLS is known for child brides, abuse, sexual abuse and all that. I hadn't heard about them kidnapping outside girls either. Still none of that adds up to enough probable cause for a search warrant regarding Serenity without some evidence of the compound members attempting to kidnap young girls, someone seeing FDLS members around BHCH, or something else that ties Serenity and the compound together in some way. So how would contacting LE or Governor Noem help push for a search help? If LE had evidence of FDLS involvement, I hope they would have already gotten the search warrant and searched the compound. I get people don't like what the FDLS does or how they operate but that doesn't mean LE can just violate their constitutional rights without evidence.

It guess it is also possible LE and/or the Government are already watching or investigating the compound for other things. SD is pushing for birth and death records from the compound so maybe they are looking into other known issues too. Maybe LE already knows Serenity isn't there and they just aren't going to disclose that in order to protect whatever investigation is going on regarding the compound, if there is even one.

I still don't think the FDLS compound is involved in this at all though.

All MOO

FLDS has been accused in the past of kidnapping child brides, girls as young as Serenity.

Just sayin'.

I don't think that they kidnapped Serenity. She is not their "type". Not reared from day one to be docile and subservient to men. She would be more trouble than she is worth.

They have plenty of their own young girls to prey on, they kick out the teen boys as soon as they can, the "trouble makers".

I was out hiking yesterday, and saw many big pine trees, if it was cold, windy, I can see Serenity going under one of those trees, hunkering down, falling asleep...and there are so many in that area. Maybe with dogs they can find her someday.

The missing Amanda Eller who was lost in Maui has been found alive. Dogs alerted that she was barely on a trail. Or maybe they only alerted in the parking lot.

In fact, she walked for miles and miles.

So the dogs were really wrong with this case.

This makes me wonder how useful the dogs have been with Serenity. Now I am not sure that she was not missed.

I believe Serenity is out there in the woods and wandered farther than people thought possible or hid someplace when she got cold/scared. Lost people often seem to be found a couple miles outside the search radius in cases like this. I also would not rule out that she climbed a tree or climbed inside a hollowed out tree to hide. Searchers are probably not looking UP-- they would mostly look down at the ground at this point. The dogs alerted to the presence of decomposition but couldn't find her. I think she is there, but hidden in someplace unexpected, or just a little farther away than the searchers thought possible. MOO.

I thought about the possibility that she may have climbed a tree to hide, although I don't know exactly what the trees are like there. At any rate, I wonder how she would have stayed up a tree from then until now. There have been a number of storms with extremely high winds that have passed through there since she went missing, which I think lessens the possibility that she is "up". I find the idea of being in a log more possible, because it has the added benifit (for her at the time) not only of hiding, but of sheltering her from the high winds that picked up day. But at this point, I would think the methodical search would include looking into any small spaces they find.

A lot of the trees in that area appear to be pine trees. She wouldn't have climbed one of those because the needles are brutal on your hands. As for the other trees, seems like it would be a difficult task since she was wearing snow boots.

I could be wrong but I've long believed that Oct - April snow cover hampered the usefulness of the search dogs. Serenity was a 9 year old child, and these are small remains to recover. MOO

I think some years down the road, someone will be out walking their dog, and he will bring back a human looking bone. Our dog brings back the craziest things, I am never prepared for what weird stuff he finds. Once it was a coyote head.

Yes, and with wildlife in the area, I'm sure there are plenty of remains (bones) in the area that would be about the same size as a small child. The only hope they may have, is finding her clothes or boots which will take a long time to degrade and would not have been eaten by animals.

I don't know what happened to Serenity. I do know this entire case was off to a very wrong start and findings show this, whether intentionally, negligently or otherwise, much is in a report and it is a published "fact".

Other than that, there are few facts that we ourselves have any evidence of.

There are three likely possibilities imo, with possible variations of each.

Something happened at the home. (Whether accidentally or criminally as possible variations)

Someone abducted her whether stranger or someone known from the roadway. (Or from the home, parking lot, etc. as variations)

She ran into the woods and died there. (Variations, found a farm/outbuilding and died there, etc.)

Thanks to the wrong start, we may never know imo. Maybe we would not anyhow hard to say, but we will likely never know.

Her body may be found one day, the odds of it telling anyone anything are slim. If they do find her in the woods, to me it will not eliminate other possibilities at this point unless something very definitive shows otherwise when found.

I would love to believe that she is being held by some good hearted person but the likelihood of that seems pretty slim to none.

All jmo and yet pretty much fact imo. Not a slam at the home, parents or anyone, just fact and possibilities.

Feeling a bit negative about it all and with no answers that will ever come which is how it is looking and imo, always has looked. I guess we can all be left to what we feel the most likely scenario is.

I still pray and hope Serenity is found. She has turned into one unforgettable child for me, even though I realize we do not "know" her.
