I know this has been mentioned before, but I still don't know the answer. Do we know if DB had access to a vehicle that night?

And what is the bottom line regarding the dogs sniffing on the vehicles?

The family car was there AFAIK. JI had the van at work.

Didn't realize that the brothers house was within 10 minutes either (reading old tweets by Spellman of CNN)

Locals mentioned car access to the river (I guess where the grain elevator is) and that it wasn't as accessible as the map leads you to believe. Plus, assuming she was taken by car, she would have to be in there in a way to not have dogs get hits in the car.

I am also very curious about the storm drainage that runs along the back of the houses at Lister and comes out near 210 and the area near the grain elevator at the end of Brighton.

I don't know if I can link here, but a local walked it taking pictures along the way. It is walkable.

Very early on, when there was repelling in one of the searches, where was that? I can't seem to find that answer. TIA

It IS walkable, but what you are seeing is DAYTIME possiblility. There is absolutely no comparison as to what the area is like back there between daytime and night time. There is absolutely NO light back there and very rough terrain. The only people who would be able to accomplish this at night and leave no evidence (LE was all over that area within hours) would be somebody that knew the area by making a habit of being back there getting around at night. I don't think that includes DB at all. Just last night my dogs were barking at something back there and I could not even see 20-30 ft back there and there was nearly a full moon shining. If you were to be walking back along the creek, there is the tree canopy blocking out any possibility of any light and the leaves had not fallen yet much by then. Then you have to factor in the fact that it would not be fast at all and there are sticktights, nettle, poison ivy and just plain mud and water that would be very noticable to LE when they processed the house when whomever got back to the house. Like I have said, what looks good on google, is not reality of doing this at night. Even though the river is close, actually getting down to the actual water in the pitch black is not going to be easy nor quick at all. Google just does not show you the terrain and obsticles even in the daytime, let alone in the pitch black.

The area rapelled down at was not at the river. It was almost directly west behind the house just to the north of NE 34th & N Jackson.

Let's also don't forget...you've got to cross 210 and hope that no one is coming and going to and from the casinos so 1) you aren't hit 2) they don't remember seeing someone dart across a four-lane highway with a median just hours before a baby goes missing and the media and highway billboard signs are saturated. Oh and that highway happens to be near the baby's home. I nearly hit someone running across I-70 recently in broad daylight. That stuck with me. I can't imagine someone darts out in the dark and then a baby goes missing and that NOT sticking with you....

Honestly, not to open a new bag of worms, but are we sure the dogs did not get a positive hit on the vehicle(s)?

I would guess not, because no vehicles were seized as evidence.

would it be possible to never even get on the bridge but go underneath it? The bridge here that crosses into Ky has steps going down to the river on each side of the bridge.

Where is Baby Lisa?????

I don't think LE towed the car to the forensics garage so that would lead me to believe there was no HRD dog hits on the car.

My guess would be if and big if...there had been a hit in one of their cars...it would have been mentioned in the search warrant.

Now whether the cars of others close to them were searched is another question altogether.

If dogs didn't hit on the car, and it would take an hour to travel by foot and comfortably dump a body in the river from the Irwin home, then I'm beginning to believe Lisa's body is either outside the searched perimeter (but close by), or inside the searched perimiter but missed.

Are there any swampy areas around that tend to smell bad?

OR, there was no body!

Yes, you can walk through the storm water drains.

ETA-Woops, I'm not sure what bridge you are talking about. What I'm talking about is that somebody doesn't have to cross 210 near Birmingham. They can walk under 210 through the storm drainage.

I think I believe that BL and the phones are not together. I think it's possible they went in different directions.

MOO

You have to go down Birmingham Rd to get under the bridge. Otherwise you would be climbing straight down a very steep, long, brushy embankment in the middle of the night.

Did the person taking the pics of the drain actually go down there or just show pics from the top? What you failed to notice is the more than 20ft sheer embankment you would have to get down while carrying a baby in the pitch black and navigate the depth change of the creek when it changes over to the concrete when it crosses under the highway. This IS possible in the daylight, but I dont see it happening by a person who has never done this at night before all the while, carrying a baby. There would also be obvious evidence of this trip if walking in the creek. There would also be the sticky clay mud the area is known for about 10-20 ft back from the edge of the river one would have to cross to even get to the water. It WILL suck your shoes off in an instant. The riverbanks were in very bad shape at the time and very undercut from the flooding. They more than likely would have crumbled underneath anybody on them.

There are pictures taken from down inside of the drain, so I'm assuming that they actually went down in there. I'm not sure that they continued past 210. I just looked at the pics again, and it looks like there are pics from that side. But I think they might have went around some how. It's hard for me to tell, since I've never actually been there. . lol! I don't think they made it all the way to the river because it was the day that man was hit on the tracks and LE was down by the grain elevator place.

I'm just trying to figure out if it is at all possible. .. no matter who. . maybe without Lisa, but just the phones. . .idk. :waitasec:

I keep going back to the statement that DB made early on (and I can't remember the exact words) - she "didn't want to look in the back yard because of what she was afraid she would find." Something about that statement is really odd. It's part of the reason that I continue to think that either Lisa or the phones were close by and DB just said this to possibly cover-up in case anything was found there. I don't know why or how...but it means something in this puzzle.

I know this sounds like an odd statement to some. However, I understand it perfectly. I might have felt the same way, or have said the same thing in this situation.
I would not have wanted to look in the back yard, for fear of seeing my baby dead, or seriously injured. I just could not have dealt with that scene, just no way I could have. I would have sent my husband to look. So I understand her saying this.

I totally agree and have stated that before.

It is odd. Why would she be afraid of the back yard, but nowhere else? I tend to think it's your option B: it was a cover-up in case anything was found there.

But if the baby is seriously injured in the back yard, a parent would surely want to overcome their fear to save the child, right?
