I think Flores even suggested in the interrogation that Napoleon was known to be high strung. Even if he wasn't typically, I agree that he likely wouldn't have been acting OK if Travis was dead behind a door normally kept open. Even my aloof terrorist cats respond noticably to changes in routine...

I was thinking more along the lines of what her, her bff(MM) and his roommate may have got up to the night before... ski masks(probably came across old ones from Big Sur while snooping thru his stuff), the repeated references to one wearing jeans, "white" Americans, two people(one female) arguing "about her", etc.

It's like she was pulling up memories of past breakups with old bf's to make them all culpable, in her own mind, for her to have to have taken such drastic measures and thereby giving her the ability to pull off her lies with such conviction.

The camera bag may have been where it was found because messed with it. I think she didn't show up until the sex and she showed up with TA's camera. I don't think TA would have wanted to have her "hang out.' He sent her away right after the sex. This would have been consistent with his messaging and "our" general conclusion that he didn't want her in his life at all. I believe he was ashamed that he caved and needed to get rid of her and clean up ASAP. This must have stoked her rage.

She took his camera with her when she left. She came back with the excuse she had taken it by accident.

The camera bag was random because left it random. She stole it for a few hours and it was never back in the bag.

The roommate didn't hear or see her at 3 'cos she wasn't there. Unless I have the sex timeline incorrect.

From my going over TA's texts awhile ago, iirc Travis typically didn't get to bed before 2 or 3 AM, and when he stayed up on the later side he was most often awake and texting by 11AM.

He'd been having a really difficult time getting to sleep in the days before he was murdered, had only 45 minutes sleep on one of those nights. If on top of that sleep deprivation he stayed up until 4-4:30 AM on June 3-4, IMO it's entirely possible he slept in as late as noon.

My guess is she woke him up when it suited her to, after she knew his roommates had left, and after she had given herself lots of time to snoop texts on his phone, backspace on his laptap, read his journal, scout out the laundry room, etc.

I still think part of her plan was to keep him off balance throughout the time she was there, so he was entirely focused on what was happening with her, to the exclusion of answering texts or making calls, etc.

She says in her ninja stories that there was "blood everywhere, " yet she never saw either ninja stab Travis. Nah. There was blood everywhere because I think JM and Horn were right about the sequence of weapons.

I know nothing about guns. Is it possible she shot an unloaded gun while he was sitting in the shower? To terrorize him? And had the knife ready, so when he lunged forward, she stabbed him?

If not that scenario, I think he did lunge towards her and she stabbed him, but he didn't die immediately as she thought he would, that there was a struggle between the shower and vanities, that he managed to throw her off, that she stabbed him repeatedly in the back as he stared in shock in the mirror, that he turned and tried to block the stabs with his hands, that she kicked him in the knees and stomped on his feet during that struggle, that he was losing a tremendous amount of blood at that point and couldn't get back up after she succeeded in kicking him down, that he tried to crawl down the hall......

IMO she shot him after she dragged him back into the bathroom. I think that's where she had thrown (or left) the gun before she stabbed him, and that she shot him either because she heard post-death sounds or just because she felt like it, being the completely despicable, vile, vengeful, sociopathic murderer she is.

Still going with the 'just in case unknown accidental pictures surface' theme. I think that's what the had in mind when she made the following statements.

Letter to TA's family - .....He left the room, and without much thought I charged the female who was standing over Travis. I shoved her hard enough that she fell over Travis, who was conscious but quiet at this point on all fours with his right hand holding his head. The girl had fallen near the left sink, close to the trash can in the corner. I pulled on Travis.........

48 hours interview- ....She was in the bathroom standing over Travis and I charged her. I ran down the hall and I pushed her as hard as I could and she fell over him and landed near the sink. There's two sinks in the master bath. And he landed near the left sink, kind of near the trash can, close to the windows ....

I think the (or both she and Travis) fell near the trash can area for real. Maybe when Travis lunged toward her after getting shot or stabbed in the shower and struggled in front of the sink area?

She also claims she was in her bare feet in both the letter to TA's family and in the manifesto. Surely no accidental picture with female bare feet would exist. Therefore she is not the ninja with dark socks. (ummm.. I am having hard time explaining my theory in English)
 
BBM - K, I don't know if this will be allowed because of all the links, though tbh most of them don't go far because they're so old now, but this is where I had found the video way back when I first started sleuthing this case and why I believe it was JA that introduced it to TA's pc. Heck, for all we know he may never have even seen it if as I suspect it had been JA that had accessed it while hiding in his office waiting for the coast to clear.

You're saying she insisted on saying her own feet were bare so she wouldn't be identified with the killer in the dragging photo.

You are brilliant.
 
Val! Thanks for bringing up the likelihood that TA never saw that video. I've been coming to the conclusion the didn't spend much time in each other's company on that last day.

I still think she equivocated on the time she arrived because she gave EF the time on the computer and then realized it was off by an hour, so she had to change it in subsequent lies.

Last text sent by Travis on June 3: to Maria, at 2:02 AM, telling her goodnight, about an hour after she had texted him to say goodnight.

Driving time, Pasadena to Mesa: about 5 1/2 hours. Don't think she'd want to be caught speeding, so that's probably an accurate amt of time, maybe slightly less, but 5 hours at minimum.

Time she left Pasadena: She called Ryan at "9 or 10pm" according to the HLN timeline. Was a more precise time for the call ever provided? I don't remember...

If she left shortly after 9 (after talking with Ryan) she could have arrived as early as 2:30-3AM, if she left after 10, she'd have arrived closer to 3:30-4.

The Daft video was viewed more than once, beginning around 4 AM.

FWIW, I researched the Daft video a long while ago. The Harder, Faster song was extremely popular back then, which helps explain why there were so many YouTube videos of folks dancing to it.

I actually can imagine Travis watching some of the videos and thinking they were funny. The - not so much. She doesn't seem to have a sense of humor, and she sounded very disdainful and dismissive every time she mentioned the video.

Shown the dragging photo by Flores: "that is not my foot!" And the fact that even after she "confessed " to being there, she still (necessarily)distanced herself from the photo by replying to Flores---"i don't think I had those pants with me...I don't know."

Yep...maybe the genesis of the 2 ninjas story was trying to explain away that one photo. Better, that Ms. Einstein remained in denial for years about just how absurd and transparent her ninja lie was, lol.

Awww, I'm not sure about the brilliancy.

But yes, and one ninja HAD TO BE female because of the accidental photo. The other male ninja was just added to make her story more believable. And thrilling. Only in her sick head though.

Photo of ceiling 5:31. 14 (44 seconds later).

JM: Were you fumbling the camera then, was it hitting the ground near the shower then? : “I don’t know. Yes. Well, it rolled, but did it take this one then? I don’t know.”

But that’s when TA became very upset (True, eh? Because he’d just been attacked).

He made movements towards (me), then picked me up and body slammed me. He wasn’t chasing me yet; we were right next to each other.

As a result of being body slammed, I hit my head and got the wind knocked out of me. I was very much in fear at that point.

I was able to fight him off. He was standing next to me, next to my shins. I rolled, was able to get away, I began running down the hallway, I didn’t turn around when running down the hallway.

I didn’t have the knife at that point. I have no memory of ever having the knife.

Then I went to the closet, and grabbed the gun. I went back into the bathroom, gun in hand. He was in that linebacker pose, coming after me. “That’s when the gun went off.” The bullet hit him in the head.

He fell, kind of on top of me, well, kind of to the right, not directly on top of me. I was in fear for my life. He was screaming things at me, including “fking kill you, bytch.” I recall that.

After I got up, after he threatened my life (kill you bytch), then the fog rolled in.

Cornered on time and sequence, the agreed with JM that the dragging photo had to have happened BEFORE she shot him. (CQ video, minute 14.40).

Though…says later that she doesn’t agree with/know that the dragging photo shows TA’s throat slit.

It's funny, really, that she obviously refused to fundamentally change her ninja story. Minus the ninjas, and tossing in a loop de loop through the bathroom and closet in order to claim self defense, much remained the same, including her refusal to acknowledge stabbing him, and the convenient lapses in memory.

An interesting line from the 's delusional "manifesto," which she did write while still in Yreka, and did autograph for folks in jail with her, and which she did ask to have copies made of, in case she became famous.

Fame was on her mind after the 48 Hours interview. But.....so did she seem to be thinking over possible alternatives to the ninja defense, maybe after being told by a cellie that the ninja story didn't seem.....believable?

In the manifesto she writes (in a section about evidence):

" If it were a crime of passion, then , of course, there would be a lack of premeditation, but the people who did this had a gun, at least one, because I was staring down its barrel."

Never ever ever was she going to be other than a victim: if not of the ninjas, then of Travis.
 
DH and DS are en route home, just a few hours away, my self-indulgent week of sleuthing whenever I want, for as long as I want, ends. :(

For the sake of the argument (and leaving aside any and all arguments about yes or no sex that day ;)), let's say they did have a sexual encounter of whatever sort, and at the time indicated on the photos.

I'm guessing that Travis typically would have taken a shower right afterwards, and that she anticipated he would that day. But he didn't, and he didn't for hours afterwards, which is kind of curious in any case, and maybe a problem for her, as it meant risking roomies returning (as one did), and further delay in reaching SLC.

Maybe it was because of TA's seeming hesitation to shower while she was there that she thought up the idea of flattering him about the work he'd done on his body, and of taking photos in the shower.

She also could have initiated the sex in the office...he was checking email at 4:54pm to speed up the shower process. If they had office sex at 5..,,,shower pics began at 5:22
