Police said something along the lines of "this is rare. This is a rare scene."

Could he just be saying a multiple homicide is a rare scene for the area?
Yes. Because it certainly is.

I’m glad they’ve called in other agencies, because this is certainly beyond the scope of a department of that size.

Following.
What a terrible day for the families of the deceased.

My guess would be a disgruntled employee, or a renter who had fallen behind and was looking at eviction -- and in that case, one would think eviction would be better than a lifetime behind bars ?

My utmost sympathies to the relatives of the deceased !

Not going to post for a bit as WS is acting up ... and most of the links/posts aren't showing up.

Ziegler said the public wasn’t believed to be in danger, but he also said police do not believe the suspect is among the dead. He said he had no information on a suspect and that police have no motive. Authorities were not searching any other buildings or locations.

“The crime scene is contained to where it’s at, and there is no evidence based upon what we see that the public at large is in any danger from what happened there,” Ziegler said. “It looks like an isolated incident.”

Why does it seem they always say that?

Because law enforcement believes that these people were targeted, and this wasn’t a random crime.

Unless they have a specific threat to the public, they rarely say that the public is in danger.

Due to the presence of surveillance cameras, and the targeted nature of this crime, I do think that an arrest is in the offing.

If the female owner is one of the deceased, then it is reasonable that a female employee is not one of the deceased.

Likewise, if a female employee is one of the deceased, then the female owner is not deceased.

That does make sense, but I wonder about saying the public isn’t in danger. I think you are probably right a suspect is in the works, and they are looking at people with a grudge.

Yeah. In some cases I question the statement in regards to there not being a public danger, but in this particular case, I take it at face value.

This appears to be a personal thing, a grudge, as you say. I’m leaning towards a current or recently fired employee.

I also like the idea that this could be an angry renter or something along those lines.
