My understanding is that the list is ONLY for those who are Safe and Well.
So keep an eye on it, hopefully someone will tell them about it and they will register. :seeya:

Oh, thank you! They're not on the list. So I take that as a good sign.

My BIL works at the college. I'm not sure the name of it, but I heard earlier that they were setting up some type of center for people in need there, so he MAY be busy. That's why their land line went to voice mail, I hope!

My sis works somewhere in OKC and won't be home until Wednesday. I tried her cell and immediately got voice mail. That's why I'm thinking the line where she is is out.

I've texted my niece twice and not received a response. I'm hoping it's just the phone lines. Although, she hasn't been reliable at times responding to texts, I would think she would now. No response yet, since 1:45 PDT, which would be 3:45 there. I THINK!

Thanks again,
fran

Praying for all affected! :please:

Per CNN
40 more found dead. This raises the death toll to 91??

Whoa I missed some reports or that # is incorrect.

"I feel like no matter what I do it is inadequate." - Commissioner Bryan - Oklahoma County

A lot of first responders are finding out that friends, family, church members have lost everything.
They are unable to go help those people because they are there responding to this disaster.
Potential for explosions, cars stacked on building, natural gas in the air.
We cannot have people down here until the area is released by authorities.

OH NO IT'S 40 MORE

PRAYERS

May God give strength to all those who have suffered as a result if this disaster. I'm sick at heart about this. Especially about the little babies.

For any who wish to know what it sounds like inside one if these things, here is a link to audio/video of the experience of people who barely survived inside a beer cooler during the devastating Joplin MO tornado. It is horrible to hear.

To set it up, a young man and his friend were driving at night when they kept getting ever more urgent tornado warnings. They pulled over into a gas station/ convenience store. Once in, one of the young men began recording on his phone and kept recording. It is astounding.

You can't see too much because it is dark but the terror of the moment builds and builds. It becomes quite loud.

Listen for the convenience store worker lady talking with someone else about where the tornado is, how close, how màny people are in the store and where to place them. You start to hear thunder booms and children crying in fear.

Then you hear the beginnings of the building shaking and breaking apart. The doors/windows blow out and everyone rushes for a beer cooler. Listen for people praying, crying, reassuring one another, wondering where their husband is or if the person they are laying on is okay and how long it will last.

It seems to go on forever. You can hear beers falling on them as they hang on for dear life. This is the most intense video I have ever "seen". It is incredibly terrifying and moving. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQnvxJZucds&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Here is an aftermath video showing where they were during the tornado. The hair will rise on the backs of your necks when you watch it. Utterly horrifying: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-P4P68YyNM&feature=youtube_gdata_player
That was unbelievable! I could barely catch my breath while listening.......it's a miracle those people survived. Thanks for posting that G.

Nurse helping in the search just said 24 children recovered from the school...
1 body still not recovered.
Makeshift morgue in the cafeteria at the school.

The building collapsed on top of the children in the school and the water pipes broke...
and they drowned in the main hallway.

Seriously? The main hallway? :tears:

I don't know... because we know that 20 children are included in the original 51.
However, we do not know if that includes children still left in the school or if they are only counting them once they arrive at the ME's office.

They aren't being very clear...
The ME just said he was awaiting 40 more bodies.
Is that the 25 children at the school + 15 others??

So is that 51 + 25 children + 15 found now??

Or is this 40 additional... on top of the ones in the school?
I have no idea.
I just fear this is going to top 100 dead bodies... with almost half being kids. :tears:

Prayers to you and your family, Fran! I have family in Moore and we posted on Facebook and sent messages. When one of our family members heard the other one was safe, they sent a message out. It wasn't for hours and hours before I could speak to my cousin who lives in Moore and that was still, only via Facebook. He was able to send out a few text messages, but without my service and the fear of phones going out, they are limited.

Sending you and your loved ones many prayers!

Yes headed to the OK ME...
I am so sad.
ME expects # to rise but hoping it won't.

:( so sad to hear this.
Thank you ginger~snap.

How far away is the closest town where these folks can find a place to sleep, food, etc?

I saw an interview with a first responder on TWC. He said at least one teacher put her kids before herself. He said they pulled a car out of the front hall of the school and found a teacher under it. He said there were three kids under the teacher. He broke down crying while he said "Good job Teach."

Brand new Severe Thunderstorm watch in Moore.
I hope nobody drowns from the storms in their storm cellars or basements waiting for rescue.

Under a car... OMG.

We've heard several other stories like this.
Some from the kids themselves.
At least 3-4 teachers I have heard about today.
I hope those teachers survived. :please:

I know, I had already heard those reports so I factored that in.
We still can only place about 35 of the fatalities.
The rest, we have no idea.

omg. Now I really understand why the gas stations around here lock up when the sirens. blow...
To think I tried to run into one during a storm...
Luckily the tornado took a turn and it never hit where I was... It hit about 3 miles away.

That was horrific. But wow... Those guys were incredible!

Oklahoma County Commissioner Bryan is back on about the Plaza Towers school.

http://www.koco.com/news/oklahomane...at-5/-/9844008/10990302/-/g0okba/-/index.html

About an hour ago the Governor came through and decided it was only a recovery effort.

Commissioner is still hopeful that other children will be located with friends or somewhere else...
There is still kids that are unaccounted for at this time.

(Does that mean there are 40 missing and they've only found 25?
Or does it mean that they just haven't identified those bodies they've found?
What does "unaccounted" for mean?)
