That's interesting...I'd heard of lazy eye, but never really knew what it was exactly

Also, Charles Cullen, the Angel of Death nurse had a lazy eye! I just finished the book "The Good Nurse" -- good read.

My right eye is lazy. About 10 years ago, I wore prism eyeglasses to correct it.

Damn straight....from the article

I will not detail the history of her relationship with Alexander, the grisly murder, her numerous lies, her “amnesia” about the details of the murder (while being able to remember the minutia of her sex acts with Alexander), her preposterous claims of being a domestic violence victim (while there is ample evidence she stalked and terrorized Alexander) and her equally preposterous claims that she felt degraded and abused by sex with Alexander when her sexts, voicemails, etc., to Alexander give new meaning to “enthusiastic consent.”

Rant tangent: If women don’t want to be “used for sex” then they shouldn’t use sex to try to get men (or women) to be in a relationship with them. These are usually the same women who serve the freaky deaky sex up on a platter straight from the get-go. That’s like being a drug dealer who complains the only time someone calls is when they want dope. If that’s what you’re peddling, don’t blame the customers.

And please spare me the happy horseshit about having low self-esteem and men “taking advantage.” There are women who do the same thing to men for money and status. If you don’t want to be “used for sex” then don’t use sex. If you decide to roll the dice and have sex without love and commitment, then be grown-up enough to live with the consequences of your choices should you not get the pay-off you want.

It it a 2 way street. Sex can be used loosely eg "friends with benefits" or for love. (Spouse, partner etc).

The problem with Jodi is she could not distinguish the two.

Travis made it clear he did not want her for marriage after sending her packing back to Yreka. imo

Happy Sunday everyone - speaking of Gus Searcy - was it ever confirmed that he actually did know something about Jodi Arias that "could help or hurt her" and if so what was it?

That's good news that we'd have a vaccine so quickly...

Hi, yes it is. My grandfather died in the Canadian Army from this flu.. I read a lot about the flu on the internet. The flu was terrible as so many died.:please:

Great post! I agree with everything you said here.

If I were on that jury, being faced with 4 people who potentially believe in some of the abuse claims, these are exactly some of the points I would bring up.

There is no way in heck that somebody who is legitimately being beaten would ever peek in to her boyfriend's windows, break in to his email accounts, sneak in to his house unexpectedly and all of those other insane shenanigans she did, for simple fear of him finding out and beating her even worse. I mean seriously, just think about that for a minute. I would have fought this point pretty strongly in that room.

I am a Keurig snob too. And then Dunkin Donuts k-cups were invented and everything was right in the world :)

This article's got it all except ALV, unless I missed that. Thanks for posting and passing along. A perfect take on Arias and her sociopathic hijnks during her penalty phase performance, and must read for a certain foreman!

Also from the article:

“See things for what they are” = “Believe my persuasive blaming and victim-speak and let me get away with murder.” Arias seems to have expected the jury to believe her contradictory, hole-ridden testimony as opposed to the evidence.

She banked on jurors believing her emotionally charged ******** instead of the facts. But why shouldn’t she?

Lots of women get away with murder (sometimes literally) in Family Court and Criminal Court every single day. Just look at male vs. female conviction rates for similar crimes and who the winners are in the majority of Divorce-Custody Lotto cases. In that respect, I suspect Arias does feel like she’s getting a raw deal for being convicted of a crime she admitted committing because she’s a woman and should, therefore, be exempt from the consequences of her aberrant behaviors.

“Here I am in my redhead stage. Here I am in my blond stage. Here I am skiing. Here I am in Palm Springs. Here I am on a terrace — it’s on the ocean, but you can’t see it very well on this screen. Look at me, look at me! Look at meeeeeeeeeeeee!”

“It was never my goal to malign Travis’ character. It was my goal to preserve his reputation.”

******** and WTF, WTF, WTF, WTF. She recounted their sexual relationship in graphic detail and in unadulterated predatory braggadocio. She tried to put him on trial for liking what some people consider to be kinky sex.

“I wouldn’t even harm a fly (or a spider.)”

This is one of the last lines from the Hitchcock thriller, Psycho. You would think someone on the defense team would have mentioned this to her. Too bad she didn’t show Travis the same compassion she shows spiders.

“Please spare my life. Not for me, of course, but for my family.”

This part left me especially incredulous. “In many ways, my family has suffered a loss, too . . . their hopes of welcoming me home someday were forever dashed [when I was convicted].” Unless Arias’ family lives in the same self-centered, unreality bubble she does, how could they even think that was possible? Again, this was all about Arias and her suffering with cursory mentions of the Alexanders’ suffering.

Much like Steven Alexander who, in his victim impact statement said he doesn’t want to see Arias anymore, neither do I. If the next jury gives her life instead of the death penalty, let’s hope part of the sentence is NO MORE MEDIA INTERVIEWS. NO INTERNET ACCESS. No intermediaries giving interviews on her behalf and no intermediaries blogging, tweeting and selling Arias’ outrageous tee-shirts and crappy “art.” If the jury really wants to punish Arias, they will put her away for life and prohibit her from any media attention with no chance for parole. No Geraldo interviews. No interviews of any kind. Nothing.

Scrounged thru boxes, found the electronics cords, hooked up the TV and DVD player *all by myself* and found season 4 of Sex and the City and enjoying a fine Sauvignon Blanc, my girls, Stanford, Alan cumming as dolce or gabbana after a freezing cold shower as our gas isn't turned in til Monday sitting in the most comfortable recliner I may have ever sat in (thank you Alfonse) belly full of Chinese takeout and trying for the world record for longest runon sentence known to man. :seeya:

I'm a total Sex and the City junkie. Have watched those episodes so many times, they never get old :) My friends and I used to get together at each other's houses all the time to watch. Good stuff!

This article sums up just about every single frustration we have discussed, I loved it!! I'm also glad to see another person observed her odd run for class prezie!! My only wish is that someone would have shot off a few spit balls at cmja before she finished the allocution...:seeya:

This made me laugh.

My husband found a crashed airplane from years ago while hiking in the hills above our house. Now everyone who comes to our house gets to see the pictures (on our big screen t.v., no less) and gets a guided tour into the hills to see it up close and personal if they want to. :floorlaugh:

I think that inner 12 y.o. is always waiting for the chance to make an appearance in a grown man.

I'm one of those people who gets excited about hurricanes.... And I have to tell the truth about germs, specifically viruses... New viruses are about the MOST exciting thing there is in my world...
I'm a virologist, and since HIV came along and we slammed it, things have gotten pretty slooooow for us virologists...
:seeya:

Would love to talk to you! I was a virologist Emory University in Atlanta (in my previous life/career!) which is right next to the Centers for Disease Control. I still to this day remember the meeting at CDC in 1982 I believe or perhaps 83 or 84.. Where Epidemiologists, Infectious Disease Control and virology specialists all over the world came to this one meeting. It was the first presentation of patient zero. I am very much into genealogy. And the presentation was just like a family tree. The flight attendant from Canada (patient zero) who had kept a journal of all of his sexual contacts was at the top of the tree.

All of his sexual contacts, and their contacts and so on... were put in a tree, like a genealogical tree, and each of those individuals were color coded to mark whether they had the same symptoms. at this time there was no test for AIDS only symptoms. there was much discussion if the virus jumped from African green monkeys ( as sex is very * free * in Africa), or perhaps it was some result of sniffing glue or some drugs!

I could go on and on and on.

As a result I contacted a very close friend who was a journalist and I said this is a story that somebody needs to write about... this is huge! he never did. he did not understand or perhaps believe what I was saying and thought I might be calling wolf.

There is a book about it, which outlines the race of different institutes e.g. the Pasteur Institute, CDC and the WHO and others and outlines some pretty serious allegations that I believe are true. The name of the book is "And the band played on".

There was also a movie made after the book. I read the book and I watched at home the movie with a friend one time. My friend was very irritated as everything few moments I would stop the movie and exclaim how I knew the players and the real back story behind what was going on.

Nice to meet you and know somebody else other than WS'er Joypath who shares our background.

I left the field many many years ago but that experience is a remarkable part of my life.

Wow! I still remember little stories about AIDS before they started calling it AIDS...it was about a mysterious illness that 20 or so gay men had in SF.

From 20 to millions...that's why viruses like Mers-CoV get my attention. That and all I read about Spanish flu...what a tragedy that was...

You were part of history...I just now downloaded And the Band Played On, and will start reading it tonight.

Travvie visited Samantha in SoCal the end of May. He made her take that picture of them together. The motive was that Travis rejected her and she couldn't handle it and he would have no other. That has already been decided. She would be the last person he ever had sex with too. Black Widow.

A very somber scenario, and one I think plausible.

Wasn't going to click "Thanks," BFF, as that comment seemed sorta insulting to men. Then I looked at DH right across from me playing what amounts to a video game, very happily. :drumroll:
