I couldn't resist. At 5:32PDT, even #Nurmi's sister will be letting balloons fly in memory of #TravisAlexander pic.twitter.com/hoqR3eEImh

Dani, your story really creeped me out, too. If you read the book Helter Skelter you may remember a story about plans some of the family had about finding someone to kidnap from a casino up there called the Pass Club. I don't remember the details but it scared me to read that because my mother was a compulsive gambler and the Pass Club was her second home all during my childhood. To this day, over 40 years later, I can still remember the phone number because I had to call her there if I needed to find her. To think that she could have been a target of Manson and his family was chilling.
I grew up in Los Angeles and I remember one time when me and a bunch of friends were joy riding around in the middle of the night and we decided we wanted to drive by the Tate home since I had never seen it. I'll never forget driving up there and when we got to Cielo Drive I tried to turn down there and my car would not go. It was literally like we were in the presence of evil. I'll never forget that feeling, like a darkness was on that street. I know they have torn down the house and even changed the number on the new house but you couldn't pay me to live there. I could not even make my car turn on the street it was so frightening. It is almost as if the murder had left an evilness behind.

Hi Rosemary :seeya:
I can certainly understand how you feel that way!
Last I heard Kyle had gone back into the hospital with a high fever, how are you two doing now?

Hi MM :seeya: Kyle had blood and platelet transfusions yesterday afternoon into the night. He also has been getting a shot every day to bring up his White blood count.
The Dr. came in earlier and said his counts were coming up, but slowly. Today is the only day he hasn't ran a fever, I am grateful for that. They are also going to try carafate for the sores in his mouth and down his throat. He has GOT to start eating and drinking.....I certainly don't want to see him have to get a feeding tube.

This floor is definitely heartbreaking. There is a baby, she looks about 13 months old, and she has cancer and Down's Syndrome. She's the sweetest little thing.

Absolutely and completely FING DISGUSTING that they chose THIS DAY to release this "statement". The whole lot of them are disgusting. To release this on the 5 year anniversary of TA's slaughter is reprehensible!!! So not only is Jodi trying to rub salt into TA's family so is her horrendous DT!! They simply won't let TA rest in peace, or his family.

I'm furious at the timing of this "statement".

ITA.... They are sickening and they let the killer run the show....which makes me even sicker that 4 jurors had sympathy for the PREMEDIATED MURDERER....WTF
They find her guilty of M1 and say they don't believe her lies BUT they believe she was abused...Wtf...sorry to the 8 who had it right but Jesus Jennie, what did those 4 drink or smoke?

"Today Arias’ defense attorneys, Kirk Nurmi and Jennifer Willmott issued a joint statement in an exclusive to The Arizona Republic.

“If the diagnosis made by the State’s psychologist is correct, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office is seeking to impose the death penalty upon a mentally ill woman who has no prior criminal history,” they wrote. “Despite Mr. Montgomery’s recent statements to the media, it is not incumbent upon Ms. Arias’ defense counsel to resolve this case. Instead, the choice to end this case sits squarely with Mr. Montgomery and his office."

BS BS BS BS WTF WTF WTF WTF

I never thought Borderline Personality = Mentally Ill?? How are they allowed to make that leap??

She is not mentally ill....borderline personality is a personality diagnosis...DeMarte might come back on just to smack JW into place again.

:seeya:I can't believe dani logged off after a story like that!! Not riveting!! That was completely crazy, I was stressed out just reading it!

Didn't log off…just had to get my "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune" fix. :blushing:

Bringing it over............:

When you're born there, eh, it's not that bad! As pre-teens, we go riding all day in 112 degree heat, just had to know where the water troughs and ponds were. No way to communicate if something happened, our folks didn't even ask where we were going. I can't ever remember any children drowning or getting dehydrated out in the boonies when I was growing up. Everybody knew how to swim and how to survive in the desert. And if you got hurt (and boy did we ever!) you wiped off the dirt and tears, pushed your hat down a little lower to hide any up and coming bruises, and tried to hide that limp. Really, unless you had a bone protruding out of a body part, wasn't nothin' but a cake walk. :floorlaugh:
I bailed when I was 29........just too much of everything, not just the heat!

I always love your stories too! My parents lived on a Navajo reservation as missionaries the summer before I was born, I can't remember the name... And my grandfather's family were cattlemen and horsemen, so a lot of your stories pull together memories of things I've heard from them! Thanks!:seeya:

Last one and then I'm really going to bed, I swear. This was played at my cousin's funeral a few years ago (he was 28, automobile accident) and I think it's such a beautiful song. Count your blessings folks....life is short and you never know what tomorrow brings. :eek:fftobed:

(Didn't mean to be a downer...carry on with the Sidebar fun! lol)

I remember the Pass Club. Went there for their famous sandwiches a few times. Forty years ago was about the time I lived in Simi. Did you live there, too? I left in 1978.

Do you know about the stories of Simi being a Cancer Magnet and the cover up the government orchestrated about Rocketdyne? If you lived there and want to know more I can provide you with links.

Your story about your car makes me think you were actually in the presence of Angels, keeping you away from the EVIL.
