Baez said that about Casey needing to steal out of desperation because he knows that no matter how stupid the statement, there are those out there who will at least consider it a possibility. He hopes people will come to excuse Casey's thefts as something she was forced to do to survive after she had to flee in fear from her home, poor thing.

IMO Baez is counting on people basing their opinion on the media coverage. The media covered the thefts from Amy, since she became a convicted felon for those. He is not counting the general public reading all of the discovery and the many, many thefts long forgotten. Those thefts were never brought into the trial as evidence so to him, they don't exist and are insignificant. Remember at the trial when they were brought up to him when the jury wasn't there and he said "it was her own mother!" like Casey had every right to steal from her because she was entitled to that money. And of course, she couldn't get a job because she had to protect her daughter from her father 24/7 so she had to steal because she couldn't possibly leave her with him. If someone is not fully aware of all of the actual facts of the case, its easy for a liar to make it make sense, and Baez and CMA are very accomplished liars. MOO.

I just wish everything could have been laid out bare for the jury. When you see the entire picture its obvious. Cell phone activity, computer activity, thefts, everything. It paints a very different picture.

I wish Amy nothing but the best as well. She fell for the charms of a sociopath but reality is many people fall for such charms at some point in their lives.

Maybe he didn't realize it but she didn't buy any necessities with this money- she stole out of "desperation" to buy beer, a push-up bra, sunglasses and a hoodie....IIRC she stole from her grandmother to pay her excessive phone bill.

If I recalled correctly wasn't she going to her parents and stealing food to take to Tony's?

OT sort of...i just pulled up TMZ (normally never do that but this MJ stuff is disgusting) and about the tenth story link down had a picture that i swear looks just like George A. I thought OMG it has started. But it was John O hurley. Dead ringer for George.

Defendant? No, I was focused on the, evi, errrr, lack of evidence. I, like justice, am blind to who the actual defendant is.

You must have missed it, since you were so focused on the defendent?

I can feel my blood pressure on the rise. Amazing how some small insignificant things can feel so bold as to make assumptions about me as long as their identity is hidden.

My dislike of Jeff Ashton has absolutely nothing to do with my feelings about Jose Baez. My dislike for Jeff Ashton is he didn't do HIS job in a slam dunk case; and for that reason some one most here think murdered her daughter was set free.

Because Jose can't stand Ashton. Therefor those that support Jose can't stand Ashton. If Jose says the sky is green, there are those that will argue til the end of time that the sky is in fact green. Ashton made it clear that he had zero respect for Jose which is something that Jose can not stand. Jose has to make sure that his peeps tell everyone how horrible Ashton is while Jose is a fantastic lawyer that stands for the rights of the wrongfully accused.

MOO

FCA did a horrible job of being a mother. But no condemnation.
CA and GA did a horrible job of being truthful witnesses. But no condemnation.
The jury did a horrible job. But no condemnation.
JB did a horrible job of defending his client and it was only the horrible job done by the jury that got him his desired result. But no condemnation.

My post had absolutely nothing to do with you. But then you already knew that. My post was dealing with things on Amazon that some of us have been talking about. I'm sorry if my post may have upset you, although there are plenty of posts that upset me here as well. I tend to go past those posts and move on.

I agree.
What I saw when the remains were found was not a Casey falling apart from grief - what happened was she realized with a shock that the Jig was up...

That is exactly right! There were other finds that were suspected to have been associated with Caylee. She never flinched! When they found Caylee at the end of the street, she was beside herself!..........not because of grief but, because she knew she'd been caught! That was my point. That's why I got angry. Sorry I didn't make myself understood the first time.

With respect, I don't understand.
You say "slam dunk case" - sounds like you think she's guilty.
You say "some one most here think murdered her daughter" in bold - sounds like you think she's innocent.

That is the kind of stuff that raises my blood pressure. Seems like, to me, that your goal is to bait. Just not sure why. IMO

IMO Casey was upset and distraught because Cindy had failed her yet again. Cindy didn't manage to get Dominick Casey to find Caylee and move her before someone else could find her. Darn that Cindy, once again messing things up so that Casey would be found out as the liar and murderer that she really is.

MOO

"I have to say I think Caylee is overrated. Yes, she ended up dead in a swamp being eaten by animals but that's no excuse for her putting her poor mother through a long arduous trial and then having to be a pariah ever after." GMAFB.

Where is this quote from? The book? Who said that? TIA

BBM: That is what Jose is counting on. He knew he could say whatever he wanted and at least some of the people woud buy into it, if for no other reason because they do not know any better.

That's why some of the best sleuthers in the world are here...to expose the lies via documents to the contrary. It is more than just a public service; it is something positive for little Caylee who without Websleuths and others like us would be lost in all the games people play.

I do not believe it is a quote, but was Miss Plum interpreting what Baez thinks about this entire situation. IMO it sprang from his quote about Amy H. and how he "never liked her" because she "stabbed Casey in the back" with her testimony.

Ugh....it's all just so putrid. He lurves his poor little Casey because she is so nice and everything. Nevermind she killed her child, no one will ever be able to accuse her of testifying against a friend in court!

Jeff Ashton didn't lose the case, the state lost the case. Jeff Ashton was not the only attorney on their team. And as a poster recently brought to our attention if Mr. Lamar thought Jeff Ashton was doing such a terrible job why was he not removed. Afterall Mr. Ashton was already planning on leaving when he was asked to stay for this case. I doubt if Mr. Lamar thought Jeff Ashton was not capable of doing his job Mr. Ashton would have been gone long before the trial. Jeff Ashton's knowledge about the forensic end of the investigation was very impressive. Had he been able to give the jury a picture of the highlighted area of the trunk that we have seen lately posted here KC would have NEVER gotten off. It's clearly a child's body and not Mr. and Mrs. Squirrel who died in her trunk from an overdose of acorn pizza as JB would like us to believe. jmo

One of the things that stuck out in the depo with the shrink Dr.D is that casey had told him the reason she stole from amy was because she needed money to get her own place.. food and get this *diapers*

that one had me screaming at my puter..

I think the real reason JB did not like Amy was that she was.........gasp...."honest". Bad for business when you are a defense attorney. lol jmo:seeya:

BBM Well, I guess Mr. Ashton did not make that clear, where it counted, in a court of law.

All three prosecution attorneys could have hit all twelve of those jurors in the head with a 2 x 4 and they still wouldn't have gotten it right. These statements thrown in Mr. Ashton's direction as to why the verdict results did not come out correctly leads me to believe they are personal.........nothing more. Millions upon millions of viewers saw the same thing you did, yet you single out one attorney from the prosecution table. The only one of the three that has no love for Mr. Baez yet has never kept that a secret.

Just my perception and always JMO.

I agree with you. We have the best and I am so in awe.

BTW, I don't know if you were referring to the old song or not, but it sure rings true.
