Small Details that are interesting in the Cooper Harris case, #1

I wonder how long to turn car off and gather stuff and leave the car. I know I leave my car running in the heat when I have to get stuff, pulling the key at the last moment.

Im more irked at the det, report about the lunch time trek to the car. He made it seem as if he had his head in the car and turned to look at Cooper and he also made it seem like he was watching the guy that passed his car.

Im kind of really ticked about it. If the evidence is there, fine.. But don't make stuff up or embellish it.

I think, after debating with myself for a few days, that when Stoddard said [modsnip] was "completely in the frame" that he DID NOT MEAN (necessarily) the DOORFRAME, but rather the frame of the video... In other words, you could see all of Ross as he tossed the bag inside, NOT that he put himself or even his head inside the car door.

Do you think the 15 seconds included that? I guess we will need to see. I just included the time from when my car stopped until I exited the car. That was how I interpreted the comments, but I guess others could read them differently.

See post 1272 (sorry, it isn't letting me quote). Stoddard says the "about 30 seconds" is from the time he has parked until he leaves the car, so should not include pulling in and parking.

They did not arrest him on the spot. He was arrested several hours later, right?

He was DETAINED immediately and arrested later than evening.

Right, at the scene he told a female officer "F*ck you!" when she tried to gather information from him (in the meantime he's on the phone talking, but stated he wasn't talking to anyone - according to him). She took away his cell phone, put him in a police car, tried to talk to him but he was "combative" with the police so they took him to the station to question him. After 5 hours of questioning him and other police at his HD office looking at this computer, he was arrested.

Apparently a newspaper giving an inexact time, is reason to call a detective saying "around 30 seconds" a liar. That's pretty much the gist of the the "embellishment."

You know, if Stoddard had intended to deceive, he could have said "Less than a minute". That is TWICE as long as he DID say, and would still be completely accurate, while conveying the impression [modsnip] had waited LONGER to exit.

It is NOT about Georgia! States decide the age of consent, and MOST states allow consent at 16 or 17 years old.

The Feds decide what constitutes child *advertiser censored*, and they decided it would be under 18 which applies to the entire U.S.

People act like it is "some crazy Georgia thing" and it isn't. Here is a list of age by state:

I didn't see anywhere in the article that RH specifically wanted to take Cooper swimming or on a slide.

After carefully evaluating the various cruise options, Ross chose the Carnival cruise lines because it had a kid-friendly atmosphere which included a waterslide. That sounds to me like he considered the waterslide a feature that would occupy the child. Am I missing something?

Earlier I posted several links that were posted on websleuths RH inappropriate behavior forum. Also, the age of consent being different from the *advertiser censored* age was discussed in great detail on this forum a week or so ago. The links I saw and all the discussions in this forum said there is a difference in age for consent in Georgia which is 16, but the age for *advertiser censored* charges is 18 which would mean RH could be charged for *advertiser censored*. If this is incorrect please post links.

I did not have any intention to say or mean anything derogatory about the state of Georgia. I am sorry if that is what you thought I meant. I am very proud of the fact that I was born and raised, until going to out of state college at 17 years old, in a small West Central Georgia town. I am very proud of my Georgia background and 90% of my relatives still live in Georgia.

That seems to single out GEORGIA as a state who's laws do not make sense when in fact MOST states have age of consent laws that differ from Federal child *advertiser censored* laws.

Strapped into an INFANT seat set at the TIGHTEST possible setting.

Glad we are on the same page! I am proud to be GRITS Girls Raised In the South! My adult children who were born and raised in Texas probably know as much about Georgia history and Gone With The Wind as they do about Texas history. If anything is said derogatory about the state of Georgia, I will probably be as quick as you to challenge it! Sorry for my miscommunication and choice of words.

I would think it's incredibly disrespectful to be on the phone when law enforcement shows up and then to remain on the phone...beyond rude. IMO I don't care if the Pope is on the other end.

I had a car accident. I was waiting for LE and called for a tow truck while waiting. I was still on the phone with the insurance company when LE arrived. They waited patiently for me to finish.

Unless one of your loved ones was injured or dead from that accident, there is no comparison to this situation. I don't think it was out of line for LE to immediately want to talk to the parent of the obviously dead child lying on the pavement. If I was the parent of said child I would be begging everyone in the vicinity for help, not chatting idly on my phone, but that's just me.

Their question to her makes sense to me. Cooper didn't show up so they were surprised to see her there. Why would she be there? "What are you doing here?" (Don't you know your kid wasn't dropped off?) makes more sense than the response you've typed. I can see them saying that ("Hey L! We missed Cooper today; is he sick?) if they just ran into her somewhere on the street but not if she showed up at the center.

I guess it is the kind of thing you'd have to hear to decide.

Typed as it is, I read it as kind of rude. But it may have been more like "What are YOU doing here? Did you need to pick up/drop off something at the office?" (For example).

I guess if I were the staffer I would have used a different greeting, like "Hi, what can I do for you?", assuming she knew Cooper wasn't there and that she had other business like dropping off the check, or changing his enrollment, etc.

I know in the big picture, it's a small dab, but it nags at me.
