Source of the tip? #2

Amber's mother and stepfather were doing there own surveillance of sexual predators in their neighborhood. John Gardner was one of them. It said she almost got in trouble with the law because she was sort of trespassing or possibly violating someone's rights. Do you think it is possible that maybe they actually followed JAG to the casino area (the scene of the crime) a few times? And just maybe they just recently gave that info. to the police after JAG was arrested? IMO that would explain LE wanting to protect their source of the lead.

Was the scene of the crime for Amber at a casino? Apologize for not knowing all the details on this case..

From what I gathered the remains were found on an Indian reservation and someone here said there was also a casino on that property. She was not found at the casino.

crikey for all we know he had a map to make sure he could find the exact location in the future when he went back to check the spot. It really could be anything. He may have kept a journal who knows.

LOL. We know diddly-squat. I'm done until more comes out.

On JVM last night, the fact that his psychiatrist evaluation years before when the maximum was recommended was due to the fact that JAG would never take any responsibility at all for molesting the 13 year old.

I'm thinking no way he admits to where he left a body.

I love the theory that something (map, address, maybe photos) on his computer led the investigators. If they brought dogs to the immediate vicinity, maybe the dogs would lead to the exact location of her body. Could still smell her clothing, etc.

I'm now leaning towards he not being the source of the lead, yet he may have very well done the crime

Lots of GPS ideas. A couple of points.

1) A GPS is accurate to within 2 FEET with good reception. Geocachers, and hikers (i.e. me) have found that the GPS is more accurate than the maps loaded onto the GPS. Two GPS's will almost always show some variance. For example if I hide something at, say, N33 35.653 W117 43.787 according to my GPS, your GPS readings maybe off by a "tick". (Yes there is really something hidden at this position ).

2) GPS tracks are captured by almost every GPS. BUT the tracks are over-written over time / travel. I doubt a car's GPS would still have the track from a year ago.

3) For JAG to have some flavor of a GPS point on his computer he would have to visit something like Google Earth and entered a waypoint, or have a handheld GPS and associated software like MapSource and uploaded a track and/or a waypoint.

ETA: The above describes the your average "over the counter" GPS using the 24 satellites placed into orbit by the U.S. Department of Defense. There are GPS "technologies" which are accurate less than inches, for example, those used to measure how many inches a city moved after an earthquake.

I guess I was just going on what I have on my own car I have some aftermarket addon called an 'alpine' (also plays dvds and cds) my car is a 2005, has a touch screen and every time I turn the car on it gives me the address of where I am at that moment and also there is a menu option. That lists the last 1000 address where I was at in chronological order. So say I see a cute chineese place id like to try in a shopping mall I can scan back to the day I was at burlington coat factory and know that it was the same shopping center parking lot and say I'm 15 miles away at ikea and want to grab somthing on the way home I can tap that point set it as my destination or even pull up the submenu and add a resturant filter and it will tell me the names of the resturants within 200 feet and the I can choose the chineese sounding one and it will give me the exact address and phone number I can call and order my eggfoo young and its ready to go by the time I get there.

I also tend to mark places I go frequently like costco, drs office, janes house, best starbucks ever etc. I can make my errands quicker so say I'm, out yard sailing with jill and we don't know exactly where we are anymore but I gotta pick my kid up from scoccer at 3 I can just hit the scoccer button and it searches the route and also stores that search on a list of last 1000 searches

Sorry for the run on post but somewhere in there is my point.

Could also be they found a clipping or google search of that other girls body dump and hedged their bets. My husbund also writes all over his thomas guide so he dosent have to look very hard for things the second time. It could be somthing as vague as a a circle or arrow. Or even an address or note like 'tillman job' in the margin. He has like 8 years worth archived in his garage.

From what I gathered the remains were found on an Indian reservation and someone here said there was also a casino on that property. She was not found at the casino.

It was found north of the Pala reservation (which, yes, does have a casino) - but it was not ON reservation land.

It was actually off a private road in an area that belongs to the Rainbow (a city) Water District.

Question: Someone mentioned the crime happened at a casino, would it be this one or Rincon, etc?

i don't think JAG was the source of the lead.

i think LE is hoping forensics evidence will point to a suspect. whomever that may be.

if they find evidence and it comes back to JAG, he will be charged. if it comes back to someone else, hopefully they can find them.

That's just it. LE is not going to even plant the seed that he is a person of interest or a suspect in Amber's death when he will be going on trial for Chelsea King's murder. If it comes back that it's not him, they will be accused of tainting the jury pool. He's connected somehow, or it wouldn't have been put out there until they had concrete evidence linking him.

But I thought they found her skeletal remains? Why not just put them all in a box and take it to the dump?
The only thing we know about what was found it that is has to be minimum a lower jaw, most likely an entire skull (she was ID'd by dental records, logic dictates you have to have more than one tooth to do that).

i missed any information of concrete evidence linking JAG. i'll search for it. could someone post a link if they have one? thanks.

EDIT: i misread your post. i see you are saying that there is no evidence linking JAG. sorry about that.

According to an associate:

The John and Ken Show reports that two of their listeners have informed them that John Gardner took authorities to Amber Dubois' grave.

It's definitely hearsay, but still interesting. Any happen to catch the John and Ken show??

I listened to their interview with Mark Klaas on my commute home. I will post the podcast as soon as they put it up. the interview with this information would have had to have been in either the 3 or 4 o clock hour so I will find it tonight.

here is the podcast page so it should be posted later:

Well, I'd be taking a long look at where those dogs stopped for the last time...

Oddly enough, I posted just that theory over on the dog thread yesterday or the day before. Are you sure it was a deputy and not someone who just reads here? :waitasec:

My feeling is that the SD police should say if they have evidence if it was Gardner or not. It's possible there's still a perp on the loose.

There's always more perps. Hell lets out three more every time one is arrested.
Or that's the way it seems sometimes, as we look around the country.
