I wonder how he can fund an appeal if he needed Susan's estate monies to pay for his defence. Don't they always plead poverty (Pistorius, van Breda, Rohde) but then continue on with private representation for appeals to the SCA and even the Con Court. They all have senseless enabling families supporting them too. Let's see what Rohde's family has to say.

Yes, excellent point Tortoise, I have been wondering about that too... I cannot believe that Jason has no means of his own. After all he was a very successful businessman.
He still blames Susan for what happened to him, though. It's always the "poor me" sob story.

He did! I think he shocked himself at what he said. He looked stunned. Can you believe it, we are now looking at February for a conclusion. I’m about to throw in the towel!

#JasonRohde Defence instead decides not to continue with Katherine Rohde to gove evidence and she stands down. Def now indicates it intends applying for bail for Rohde as the matter will lokely be postponed for a lengthy period, until February 2019. SF

Van der Spuy says there is no way we will hear that #Rohde fled to South America, and asks that he be granted bail until sentencing proceedings finished. He would happily wear a security bracelet, visit police station daily. and begs leave for bail. @TeamNews24
