Only part of the story, IMO.

We're told that the jury cannot deliberate on weekends due to having no after-hours security for the Jury Room.

If true, how would there be enough security for the entire courtroom, chambers, gallery, Jury Room, lobby, etc. after hours on a Wednesday?

Part of this story is missing.

So is there or is there not after-hours security available?

If so, why doesn't JSKS allow the jury to deliberate over the weekend, immediately following closing arguments on Thu/Fri?

How strange would it be if the verdict came in on 5/8 at 11:00 - think dismissed jurors.

I was wondering that, too. I thought he was trying to show that JA was also capable of saying nasty things to other people, just like Travis said to her. But it's very common to say, at least as children, little things like that to your siblings once in a while, and that example was mild.

I like the explantion that JM did it to mess with Jodi's mind. Judging from her expression, it worked! :floorlaugh:

While it lacked fireworks, it screamed a giant one-word descriptor for a defendant whose whole case would rest on trashing her victim largely on his own religious standards and violations thereof.

is a big, fat
hypocrite.

Didn't Nurmi put that pic of JA and Angela in evidence first, as proof Jodi wasn't a "blonde" as the rental guy said? She told Nurmi under oath that her hair had been that auburn color throughout May-June. Oopsie!

JA's "original" artwork :floorlaugh:

Something I just noticed: she inadvertently made the beautiful Grace Kelly look rather psycho. It's as if the evil just oozes from her fingers.

And yes, I believe Dior (part of a huge conglomerate) might pursue legal action. (Insert Nelson Muntz "ha ha" here.)

There are times when jodi looks at JM like she would like to kill him. The look in her eyes when he went over gas receipts and she realized where he was going with it. She had fury in her eyes.

Its that look Chris and Sky described.

Travis said she was a scammer. I hope legal action is pursued.

Something new to me... Judge Stephens went directly from law school in 1980 to the AZ Attorney General's office. She was an Assistant Attorney General there until 2001, specializing in organized crime and fraud. She may be picking up things in JA's financial history that other judges might miss, i.e. JS would recognize a scammer/grifter when she sees one.

Day 28 Jury Questions for Jodi
Helio Phone lie:

Jodi reported it stolen to Yreka Police Department in May 2008 .
It was found in 2010 in grandfather’s car by aunt.
Contained sex tape Jodi recorded on May 10, 2008
TRUTH: Jodi had the phone in her possession on June 3, 2008 on her murder trip & she took photos showing her newly darkened hair.

My conclusion: Jodi brought the sex tape on phone to blackmail Traavis. There is a reason she lied on the stand about not having the phone. She lied in direct testimony and then again in jury questions. The phone is sensitive to Jodi.

I know that JA said she got a replacement phone after the Helio was reported stolen and I just assumed the replacement was another Helio and that is what she took the phones with on June 3rd. Does anyone know if she ever got another phone or she always had the original phone? I kind of thought if she had the original phone she would have deleted that sex tape but maybe not.

What burns me about ALV declaring TA was abusive was based (almost) solely on the May 26th text when TA was furious and we don't know WHY. If Jodi was threatening to expose him to the church he had every right to be.

As far as the names he called her; *advertiser censored*, 3 holed, wanted to tie her up (they had done that AT LEAST twice) these are all consistent with a 'pornographic' relationship, and are not indications he didn't treat Jodi well, THIS IS the way people in pornographic relationships talk (I think?!).

If you remove Jodi's lies ALV based almost everything on 1 or 2 text msg. She should be ashamed now for crying on the shoulder of Geffner that it's Martinez fault she's lost her credibility.

Something bugs me about the differences in how words are used in texts vs phone conversations. Has it been proved Travis actually sent all the texts?

I'm looking forward to the sentencing part to hear JSS speak about JA.

The pic that looked like Tanisha is a copy of an ad.

ETA - Changed the pics to this which is from http://twitter.com/Lori_Donald
The real problem with all the tweets though is she's getting the attention she so desperately craves. The sooner she is in Perryville the better, but sentencing etc is going to take a couple of months isn't it?

This all really fits her personality though. All she can do is copy others.

Btw someone has reported JA to Dior and Guess already :floorlaugh:

Perhaps a naive Q, but how could the sentencing phase possibly last for months? What is left to be said?

They would present aggravating factor(s), which has already been done, then mitigating testimony (would anyone speak on her behalf?), and then deliberate, right?

I agree, she needs the plug pulled on that spotlight she's enjoying. The worst punishment will be to completely ignore her.

That's not the case any more. There is a therapy called Dialectic Behavior Therapy developed specifically for BPD. It's a 1 - 2 yr pgm and is very intensive, 3-4 days a week. I first went through in 2005 and go for periodic "tune-ups". It's been extremely successful and is now been modified for other diagnosis also.

I first knew there was something "different" about 1990 so have been seeking help for many, many years. DBT has been a tremendous help. BUT just like any illness and any treatment, a person must be willing to do it. Jodi has too many other characteristics (narcissism etc...) to even recognize it...imo.

That's what my g'daughter does. Three times a week and family therapy once a week. She spent months last year in inpatient treatment. It was a godsend!

God bless you!

Could be that working overtime when it's a continuation of a work day is different than asking people to come in and work on their days off?

IMO, sometimes I think he was strictly playing with her.. tossing things out she is not expecting to throw her off her stride. I noticed him do that a lot. Distracts psycho babble.

I think he came right out the gate with that question to show she has such double standards. If Travis criticized someone to JA it was horrible but if she did the very same thing even to her sister it was okie dokie.

IMO

In the penalty phase there will be other things known about Arias that will come out that were deemed too prejudicial in the trial itself. Probably some of the witnesses that were on Juan's rebuttal will then testify in the penalty phase. She will no longer be under the presumption of innocence.

I don't think it will last months but do think it will last at least a month.

IMO

I don't know if someone like Jodi is capable of regret, but I'd like to think all the woulda-coulda-shouldas will torment her in the coming years.

I think Jodi savors the memory of killing him and has hated his memory more and more as this trial progresses. I have no doubt she blames him for her murderous actions and resulting criminal charges. She cannot kill him physically again, so she continues to kill him with her words and lies.

I believe 100% (ok 99.999%) that Jodi has not even a clue HOW to view any situation EXCEPT from her own view. Borderlines only realize this and LEARN how to see beyond their own emotional turmoil with long, long term treatment.
You're right, of course. And there are enormous barriers to effective treatment. In particular, when BPD ( the PD most amenable to treatment) is complicated by comorbidity--as it clearly is in JA, who is psychopathic, as well-- the odds of cooperating in long-term therapy are near-nil; the narcissism inherent in sociopathy/psychopathy leads the individual to believe others need the therapy--not them! Even if they do possess adequate insight to see that they are different (as my personality-disordered husband did), this is often fleeting; the sheer effort required to make infinitesimal changes is too great to maintain long- term.

ETA: I want to be sure to clarify: I am NOT speaking of BPD. I am speaking of the comorbid conditions Arias demonstrates. She is not simply affected by BPD; she is evil.

The very last thing anyone with BPD deserves is any form of comparison to Jodi Arias.
