Warrant: Josh Powell withdrew $7,000 day before fatal fire

Also on Tuesday, deputies released recordings of 911 calls made moments preceding and following the fatal explosion. Among the recordings is a call made by the state case worker assigned to the Powell boys.
"I smell gasoline, but he won't let me in. He's got the kids in the house, and he won't let me in," the case worker said. "I think I need help right away. He's on a very short leash with DSHS, and CPS has been involved. And this is the craziest thing."
"This could be life-threatening. He went to court on Wednesday, and he didn't get his kids back. And...I'm afraid for their lives," the case worker said.
The Pierce County Sheriff's department says a dispatcher's extensive questioning of a caseworker who tried to summon help to Josh Powell's home was inappropriate.
The caseworker's call resulted in nearly seven minutes of questioning by the dispatcher before he said he would send a deputy. A short time later, the Graham house erupted in flames, killing everyone inside.
In the wake of Josh Powell’s death, West Valley City police say they have received several new email tips about the case of missing woman Susan Cox Powell.
West Valley City Police Chief Thayle "Buzz" Nielsen, who spent Tuesday meeting with local law enforcement, said the information is "new stuff coming out." Officers are reviewing the tips to see if they yield any credible leads.

'The Coxes were successful in attaining custody of Charlie, 7, and Braden, 5. The boy’s father, Josh Powell, was allowed twice weekly visits with his kids at a neutral location they characterized as a "safe house". They say Josh complained about a lack of quality time with his sons and that they had to share toys with other children who were also using the facility. Then, the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) told the Coxes that Powell had a new house he was renting and that the environment seemed all right for the boys to visit him there.
It was a fateful decision that is highly unusual in a case like this.'
