I think it would have been very easy to figure out where JAcob lived. He had his last name on the shirt he was wearing all day. All he would have needed was a phone book. I don't think there are many Wetterlings in that area. There would have been a pay phone in Tom Thumb, with a phone book "tied down" in the booth. I wonder if he was near the pay phone.

I wonder if he ever asked Jared what his name was. That may have been why he asked if he recognized him. DJH would certainly recognized the last name, after all Jared's parents grew up in Paynesville. I am sure Jared's parents probably knew who DJH is.

Recorded news stories of Wetterling abduction found in search of Heinrichs home-

According to the criminal complaint, FBI agents found 19 three-ring binders of
pornographic images at Heinrich’s home. Hours of video was also recovered, showing children playing on bicycles and at playgrounds. There were no images of video of Wetterling in the collection. Although the criminal complaint says that recordings of news segments about Wetterling’s disappearance were found.

These are the notes that were turned over to the local FBI agent in late summer 2014. If Stearns County had these notes, then why was anyone else pursued as a suspect, namely DR?

Here is you answer-

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner declined to comment about Peart’s notes or other suspects other than to say that investigators had Peart’s notes long ago and they “don’t tell us anything we didn’t already know.”

"Peart said he shared his information with law enforcement but wasn’t sure what was done with it. Part of that information included what Peart termed a confession linking two sex offenders to the abduction. Peart said investigators discounted the information about the sex offenders, who he said weren’t thoroughly investigated at the time and only recently were talked to by Wetterling case investigators.

Those offenders were abused as children and went on to abuse young boys when they were adults."

And he said the same thing about the Paynesville incidents...

I believe Jacob and his dad went fishing that morning. They then watched a Vikings game that Sunday; noon-3pm I'm sure. I think I recall they said the boys played football in the driveway following the game. I think it would have been reported if they were out on their bikes prior to the video run later at around 9pm
It was such a warm fall day. After reading about the polka couple seeing the guy at Tom Thumb around 5pm, I now have to wonder if Jacob and his buddies were bike riding at that time and stopped by Tom Thumb for a treat or to use the rest room. My kids are the same age and I am quite sure they were outside until I called them in for supper riding their bikes that day. I remember how nice of a day it was. Maybe he was stalking them all afternoon, there are lots of woods around there.

Heinrich lived in Paynesville then, not Annandale. Still a long way from Des Moines, of course
I figure someone has mentioned this connection somewhere in an earlier post, but since the new report of Heinrich "observing" paperboys in 1991 has surfaced today, I'm curious of Heinrich's whereabouts during the disappearances of Johnny Gosch (12 yrs old) and Eugene Martin (14 yrs old). They both were paperboys in Des Moines IA and went missing in 1982 and 1984. It is 4 hour-4.5 hours from Annandale, MN to Des Moines IA. Marc James Allen (13 yrs old) also disappeared in 1986 from Des Moines, but I don't believe he was a paperboy.

I'm guessing the two Heinrich brothers??

So, I read up on these cases. Everything surrounding the Johnny Gosch case reads out of a movie script. But anyways...

All three of these abductions took place over the weekend, which I guess would be consistent with a visiting perp who was in town for the weekend. Also, paperboys would seem like a logical target for a perp hoping to pick a random victim in an unfamiliar environment, as they are probably the only kids out and about and alone before everyone else wakes up. Marc Allen was the only non-paperboy, and he had actually previously spent time living with his father somewhere in Minnesota.

Grasping a bit, but shortly after Eugene Martin's disappearance there was an unconfirmed sighting of him in a car headed out of town. There is also this article which mentions a suspicious individual described as a short white man, 25-30, with short brown hair parted down the middle.

I don't understand the Paynnesville PD they had to have an idea of who did the attacks there .....And did Nothing!!
