Television Star Exits Scientology

This is my absolute favorite of the LRon busted myths, because it drives Scientology completely wacko. Ron put out that he was a BIG WAR HERO, and magically self-cured his war inflicted wounds. The reality is that the naval story is far different from what he told his followers. Also, he spent a lot of time trying to get extra money for those disabilities that he supposedly cured through his own revolutionary mental techniques.

My favorite for the same reason as yours, because Scientologists just go nuts when you bring it up, is that when Hubbard died the Coroner found recent needle marks on his butt cheek. Toxicology tests were done and the Psychiatric drug, Vistaril showed up in his system!

This is the man who fought Psychiatry and the drugs prescribed, the man who *taught* Tom Cruise the history of Psychiatry! L. Ron Hubbard died with Psych meds in his system- I love it!

Bare-Faced Messiah

FROM THAT ONLINE BOOK: Thereafter, Campbell was the first committed disciple of Dianetics, utterly convinced that L. Ron Hubbard had made profound discoveries about the workings of the mind and that the fundamental nature of human life was about to be changed for the better. [Hubbard himself was perhaps as concerned to make money as he was to help humanity and he had some interesting ideas about how to do it. Around this time he was invited to address a science-fiction group in Newark hosted by the writer, Sam Moskowitz. 'Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous,' he told the meeting. 'If a man really wanted to make a million dollars, the best way to do it would be to start his own religion.'[2]]
On previous threads we've had on Scientology, I've also referenced Clambake. Thanks for your reference to this very importand and informative site. I urge everyone to read everything they can on this wonderful site.

Are you sure it was Vistaril? Vistaril isn't a psychiatric drug, it's an antihistamine, like Benadryl.

Not that he should be needing that, either, being clear and all. Don't they evolve past needing any medicine, or something like that?

Vistaril is used for and approved for several different things. You are correct, one of those uses is indeed as an antihistamine, though I wouldn't place it in the same catagory as Benadryl. It is also used to treat anxiety and as a pre and post medication for general anesthesia as it is a CNS depressant.

I love when he describes trying to explain it to David. David was probably thinking damn, that's even too far fetched to be an X-Files script.

When actor Jason Beghe finally explained Scientology to pal David Duchovny, they fell down laughing.
This is one of the many revelations that come out of Beghe’s seven-part video with Mark Bunker on vimeo.com.
Last week, we brought you actor Jason Beghe’s stunning statements about leaving Scientology. They were part of a three-minute teaser video. After 13 years and a million bucks, Beghe finally decided the cult was “dangerous” and left. By that time, he was estranged from family and friends.
Now Jason’s full video interview with Bunker is available at vimeo.com. And this is what he says: The Scientology process of getting clear is, in Jason’s words, a con.
