I don't think I have used this term here, but since this case I have started to think of prostitution as socioeconomic rape. If there was more opportunity these girls most likely would have never resorted to the option.

I think it really depends on the individual and the circumstances. Did he/ she make the choice informed and willingly with a clear sober mind or were they forced/ influenced oor coerced by drugs or by another persons selfish desire to make money using the body of another.

Having said that...I agree with your assessment in alot of cases. I think the victims of these crimes were indeed, "Socioeconomically raped" or at the least taken advantage of.

Ipersonnally prefer...Adult Entertainer...it doesn't make the assumption that all people in the industry have sex for money. How do we KNOW what specific services any of these woman provided. Maybe they did draw the line when it came to sex. I know MANY woman that do. Are they also considered prostitutes or would they be better described as Adult Entertainers. All I am saying is that we don't know where these woman drew the line with regards to what services they did or did not provide.
I think it does them an injustice to assume that they were all prostitues in the strict sense of the word.

I' sure this is not new to anyone here but I haven't seen it discussed in the threads that I have read. It a short music track uploaded anonymously to youtube. The only thing I had previously heard about it was that one of the family members was upset ( understandably ) about it's existence. I just read a transcript of it and the words are very disturbing. Has anyone sleuthed this? Does anyone know what LE found out about it ( if anything)? I can' t provide a link but if you google youtube long island serial killer audio you will find it. I had never listened to it before now.. Was it a hoax? If so HOW do you know? The lyrics are...well...chilling to say the least.

It's not a hoax. It's an actual rap song that came out shortly after the GB4 were found. Old news...

I am well aware it is old news...and obviously it's a rap song that was put out after GB4 were discovered. I mentioned it because I was curious what others had thought about it...the lyrics. Not in a song critiquing sort of way ; ) but like who uploaded to youtube. Should or has this person been sleuthed? Is there a way to find out who uploaded it. I realize that I don't have much to offer I am not a sleuth extraordinaire like some here but I wondered, could it have been the killer? I don't think it's the killer who uploaded the video/audio. It's just something that was done in really poor taste. Subject matter aside, it's an absolutely horrible song. As Robert De Niro said in Casino, "You could tell, it was amateur night."

Don't you think whoever did it is a sick sadistic S.O.B and therefore could certainly be someone to look at? Thanks for the link I wasn't sure how to upload it. It's pretty frightening...the lyrics, and yes very amateur.

It was curious how he referred to the strangulation and dismemberment althogh I suppose he could have been following the case as closely as everyone here. An odd thng for a legit or wanna be rapper to do. He seems to have a good perspective into the mindset of a sk. IMO I wonder has there ever been info released to the public about LE looking into it? I haven't found any.

I think whoever released the track was not the one who made the video that you see aboveI think that came from someone who heard the track and put this video together to sesatioalize it. There wa another video with just the words and transcrip that came before this one

If they found 4 actuaries buried in burlap along ocean parkway, and a few more actuaries chopped up in misc. places ....I bet they would call them actuaries in the papers as well.

THEY ARE HOOKERS. I believe sugar coating a situation is alot more detrimental to a case than telling the truth.

I usually try to stay out of controversial subjects, but this time I just have to say that these poor women's lifestyle is intregal to the cases.

Yes, these women were mothers, daughters, sisters, and so forth. They were loved, of course. But they were also prostitutes. I do agree with you, LINative13, that if they were accountants, actuaries, or anything else that is what they would be referred to as.

I have so much compassion for these women, their children, and their families. They did not deserve to be brutally murdered. BUT, this murderer has declared war on prostitutes. The term hooker has been used for a long, long time. It is more or less slang for the word prostitute.

So, no, don't sugar coat the fact that this was the victim's lifestyle. Their lifestyle or what they are referred to as does not make them any less a victim, IMO, or any less a person who certainly did not deserve to be killed as they were.

I'm sorry, but this is what I think. When the words, prostitute and hooker are declared against TOS, then I will not use them anymore.

I am beyond sick of hearing the word prostitute or hooker constantly being used when writing about these women! They were so much more than that I' m sure! What itsounds like to me is " Yeah these woman were killed but don't have too much sympathy for them, after all they were prostitutes!"
It was nice to read an article written by someone who seemed to be equally disgusted by the way the media has handled this story.

I know everybody here cares about these women. If you didn't you wouldn't spend the time and effort...I respect that! I was really referring to the media coverage. Which by the way has stopped completly! Where's the outrage and concern? Smh... besides the families we seem to be the only ones that care. I think thats's what the killer/s is counting on! It'll just go away and when everybody has forgotten...he'll strike again if he hasn't already.

And what is most sickening to me is that he has to for LE to have any chance in hell of catching him. Apparently they don't have enough evidence now to do anything with. And I hate the thought that we have to wait for that. These women deserve better.

The fact their are postitutes is what makes them so vulnerable and such easy targets. Their job is to take a submissive role and that's what's getting them killed.
