A reminder to all members about one of our rules...

If you state something as fact you need to back it up with a link thanks.

If it's your opinion only then you are required to state along the lines of "my opinion only".

I agree, where did this come from. It has not been mentioned prior to today.

I vaguely remember it being mentioned as part of one of the children's interviews.

I have been looking at the police accountants financial report and her summary states total assets of $1.536M and total liabilities of $1.595M leaving negative assets of $58,000. There has been some accounting to and fro obviously between prosecution and defence to arrive at an agreed statement of Assets and Liabilities with net assets of $78,000.
Looking at those assets in the accountants list which may vary in the final agreed assets, they are

G & A bank accounts $10,987
Rent roll $400,000
Motor vehicles $85,386
G& A super $41,892
G & A investments $198,265
WOTS assets- Gold Coast property $570,000( note it sold for less than this as value based on when it was refinanced)
Settle westside $119,538
Settle property sales $110,572

Liabilities

Banking facilities G & A $176,271 ( includes credit cards and bank loans)
Loans from associates to G $275,000
Loans from family to G $58,825
Loans re purchase of rent roll to G $360,450
Wots debt $335,044 ( refinance to st George paid out of sale proceeds)
Settle westside unit trust debts $123,252
Settled property sales pty ltd debts $266,370

This gives a very good though not exact idea of where their finances were at the time Allison died.

Thinking - Allison had been sick with a cold for several days, she talked about it with the hairdresser I think. That's probably why G told his daughter Allison was sick and to be nice to her.

What a golden opportunity to present himself to the girl(s) as Daddy Of The Year Who's Great Friends With Mummy And Cares For Her So Much...and doesn't fight...for more than a few seconds.

If TM didn't believe a word he said, why should you????? Good point Mr Byrne....good point. I thank-you for highlighting the fact of copious previous untruths being spoken to all and sundry....to the jury. Two thumbs up!!!
:great:

Yes. Law student stumbles loudly in to Court 11, interrupting proceedings.

'Oh, I'm so sorry Your Honour, Mr Byrne QC - it was suggested we come and visit to hear a summing up for the DEFENCE in a murder trial. I'll come back later...'

A few notes from court this morning - more to add later-
Defence says-
"Not media event or soap opera for the amusement of the media. It is about EVIDENCE. GBC not violent man. It is not about feeling sorry for anyone. Prosecution has to prove guilt. If you have any reasonable doubt you must acquit. Prosecution case is circumstantial - no admissions, no eyewitness. Jury cannot guess, speculate or join dots. Jury took an oath to deliver a true verdict and must have evidence to support inference they draw.
Fact - Allison's blood in Captiva does not mean it was the result of GBC transporting her body. There is no evidence.
Blood in car but no blood in carport or around house.
Work through evidence to prove GBC guilty of offence he is charged with -
How did he kill her?
What caused her death?
Violently killed with intent?
How does the Crown prove Allison was violently murdered?
No cause of death or injuries found during autopsy. Jumper moved up on body but couldn't exclude movement in water.
Fully clothed body - everything in place.
Couldn’t exclude body being in water.
No bone fractures.
No determination or cause of death.
Absence of diatoms doesn’t exclude drowning.
Fall from height couldn’t be excluded.
Couldn’t exclude body being moved by water.
No determination of time or place of death.
Chip on tooth couldn’t be aged.
No sign of trauma to neck.
No mobile teeth means no blunt trauma to face.
NO CAUSE OF DEATH.
Jury to bear that in mind when considering the ultimate verdict.
GBC invited police to house and consented to visual inspection of house and cars. No sign of struggle or damage. No blood."
To be continued . . .

Toni 'Wallpaper' McHugh....

I cannot get over it..

Now I get why she was being escorted by the police. It was to stop her launching herself at GBC, scratching his face and screaming "I am NOT wallpaper!"

Also looking through the accountants investigation, Allison's only interest in the business was as beneficiary of a trust that owned it, with GBC controlling the trust. It only shows Allison as having joint liabilities with GBC for the banking facilities, all other debts are either in GBC name or the business trust and company.

You saw him cross examined by a very experienced Crown prosecutor - defence #badenclay
You've had the benefit of seeing Gerard give evidence for days - defence #badenclay
Mmm aka supersmartstonecoldfox, who does not proceed to trial without prospect of conviction.

I wish they'd hurry up with this:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/s...ing-stains-may-help-solve-crimes-8906451.html

A camera that can detect and date blood traces is set to revolutionise the science of crime scene investigation.
Long considered the "holy grail" by forensic experts, a new hyperspectral imaging device that can scan for the visible spectrum of haemoglobin could dramatically speed up police inquires, lead to more convictions and reduce the number of miscarriages of justice, its creators have claimed.

It would make these trials easier.

I think we should spare a thought for the defence team here...their job is to ensure due process and a fair trial for their client, regardless of his/her prospects. Mr Byrne is required to do his absolute best for his client, even when the quality of material he has to work with is less than stellar. Regardless of the outcome, he will have earned his Legal Aid money.

If they had this amount money in bank accounts, why didn't they pay there bills?
