After watching Nancy and Jane this evening, I have different thoughts about this case.
With the possible sighting of Haleigh in Mass., I think when Misty claimed "I'd never do anything to hurt that little girl," she could have been telling the truth.
Suppose she needed to get rid of Haleigh. Remembering Jr's account that the couch was bouncing, it could be Haleigh, who was supposed to be asleep in the bed, went into the livingroom and saw something like Misty fooling around with another guy. After the fight, we are hearing she and Ron was supposed to have that day/evening, having Haleigh witness something like this would be a disaster for Misty concerning her relationship with Ron.
So, because Misty knows Haleigh will tell her father what she saw, as well as a five-year-old could understand, the need arises to make Haleigh disappear. Yes, I really believe Misty would go so far as having her brother take Haleigh in order to cover up what she'd been up to.
So, the brother helps out and then along with his wife high tails it out of town with Haleigh in tow. And Misty stages the scene and goes into her act with Ron.
It is after all, jmo.

Surely, LE would have searched all their homes wouldn't they? Where did they hide her for 5 months until they moved? I'd be more inclined to say that Joe who headed back to TN or someone else that doesn't live there might have taken her somewhere to be hidden until the move

Does this make real sense to you? A brother would kidnap his sister's boyfriend's child because of fear boyfriend may get a little mad at his sister due to some trifling cheating? Come on now, Az, I know you can do better than that! :) Remember that tasty $35k reward. Under this theory, Misty, a faceless lover, a brother, and sister-in-law, would all go along with some kind of a kidnapping. Wouldn't one of these folks turn on the others for $35k?

I see your point Theonly1 but I don't think Ron would be "a little mad." I see him as being a loose cannon who would strike out if someone, no matter who, would cross him. Remember his statement during the 911 call, he threatened to kill whoever had his child.
If he and Misty were already into an argument about her "lost weekend" he would not take too kindly to her bringing another guy into his home with the children present, I believe.
As far as what Misty's brother would or wouldn't do, who knows what those two siblings have on each other. We're not dealing with the Brady Bunch here.

My newest theory is the investigation is on the right track, but, have colaberated with TM to put a little pressure on those that have HaLeigh or Hid Haleigh. The press release back in Aug. about their intentions to search in 4-6 weeks was odd it was a open comment to the one who did this and those that know something that they have 4-6 weeks to hide evidence and or HaLeigh again. I believe LE has every player and family member under survaliance. Poker anyone.
The $35,000 is coincidentaly the same amount that Justice Coilition came up with after adding to the reward $8,490.00. What is up with this needed amount? I remember the note that Ron gave to LE maybe someone did leave a ransome note? IDK it just seems odd to me to be so coincidental to the amount that was offered by JC and their stated reason (why?) to get a round number.http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,508969,00.html

JMO but if I was afraid that my sis resides with a loose cannon who would hurt her if she was found cheating I would not make his child disappear on my sister's watch for fear what the loose cannon will do to her when he finds that out.

Ok guys, TO was productive and I have a few (many lol) things that I have been working on and would like some help or critisism (Anythings helpfull at this time)to figure these out and add or delete from the fill in info.
The water heater closet....... would it only be possible for a small person to hide there? Female and about Misty's size?
I have kicked around LE comment about the physical evidence found outside the home contridicts the story Misty has told and have done a little research and am of the opinion at this time that the evidence suggests a female left the MH with Haleigh.

Good pondering, tell me how can we tell if it's a possible female versus a male, guess I'm asking what the evidence is? Like your new thoughts, I laid down and got a light bulb moment, like the third this week. Was thinking about maybe starting a "lightbulb moment" thread.

Since Ron threatened to use violence as a means of controlling the person who abducted HaLeigh, it seems to me Misty might logically initate and enforce Ron's chosen style of operation in the home while she was left in-charge of the children. If HaLeigh and Ronnie Jr did witness an event that evening that Misty did not want Ron to know about under any circumstances, I am inclined to believe Misty would instill fear into the children to win their trust and cooperation. JMOO

Well I have pondered if Haleigh would go with a male (even if know) and if she would change clothes for a male (other than her daddy).
The statement from LE about the physical eveidence outside the mobile home contridicts Misty's story.
Misty's presence outside the home legitamently would have to be considered and the only link would be if the evidence proves a female took Haleigh from the home. Shoe size and weight distribution is my guess along with any other evidence that would link Haleigh to it and the abduction. The would be small enough to enter the mobile home from another exterior way(under bath tub or water closet.) I don't know why but it just makes sence that LE still continues to look at Misty and they can't pin it on her. IMVHHO Someone knew what they where doing when staging the mobile home and the evidence that was left to implicate Misty.

A female other than Misty, you mean?

Is it a closet, as in having a door that opens and closes, or just a space behind a wall? I was under the impression that a wall had to be removed in order to get at the water heater. Some sort of panel that can be unscrewed. I don't remember where I heard this though. If that is true, I just wonder if the wall could be securely fastened without the screws. I mean, the screws would be on the outside of the panel, not in the water heater side, and a person hiding there wouldn't be able to tighten or loosen the screws by herself. If the wall is not fastened by screws, will it stay put? It would be kinda catastrophic for a would-be abductor if the wall she hides behind falls off.

That is a very interesting theory. What women would you be thinking about? Connie and Amber are both petite iirc, Amber is still in jail I see, NayNay is out iirc, have Connie and Marty already moved to Kentucky? And if so, when? Is Sarah S petite?

Out of all the females that have been revealed in this case, I am going to assume we are talking about someone the size of Misty. Now who would Haleigh go with willingly and change for? My guess would be AB or ConnieS. I have no proof ,but it makes sence considering what we do know or believe to be facts and possible why they continue to point to Misty and she consistantly sticks with a story that LE and everybody else seems to think is a lie. OH and Lisa Croslin gets Mother Of The Year from me and is so deserving of Misty's mistrust even if her family is found to be innocent. I can only hang my head again in shame , because of the mothering that has been exemplified by these women invoved.

I would like to know as much as we can about the water closet and its importance. I do feel it is very important. My understanding is that the water heater closet in some trailers has both a outside and inside access. I am speculating its importance and significance to that area of the MH (laundry room or Master bathroom) and its evidence value. If we can confirm a few fact about this paticular fact we may just be some where. All of this is a theory and in no way am I stating this to be fact. But help me see if we can rule it out at least.

Ron and Misty living in the tent for days and days after the disappearance makes me lean towards innocence. out of all the cases I've ever learned about, never have I seen the guilty be willing to do such extremes once the case was solved.

I know of a few cases in particular where the person or couples would flee, even taking along other children and stay in seedy hotels, abandoned houses, but to stay in a tent, to be near the last place Haleigh was known to be, just would be a new reaction for the guilty if it turns out to be them. This fact I can not ignore.

There are many documented cases when the perp actually participated in the search, was a next door neighbor, was a family friend, was well known in the neighborhood, etc etc etc. It happens.

I agree with you 100%, and those really make my stomach go bazooka with nausea, but that's not what I'm saying nor what Ron and Misty did. It's practically un-precedented. That's not guilty behavior as we know it. Think about it. The actual living in the tent, no bathroom, no plumbing, for starters. It's a mighty mighty big sacrifice to make. And that is a sacrifice, not a supercial one for appearance sake.

Someone loaned them a travel trailer within a few days of Haleigh going missing.

Why do you think LE says they feel Misty's story is a lie and it's contradicted by the evidence if she's telling the truth?

I'm not sure what to make of the clothes but I doubt that the abductor would have asked her to change clothes. Whatever for? And how would they dare risk that the child would make a noise and wake the others up? I don't know what kind of sleeper Haleigh used to be like but none of my children would just quietly change clothes in the middle of the night no matter how well acquainted they are with the person asking. It takes a lot of time to wake them up enough to get them to do anything and it can't be accomplished quietly. They will whine and cry that they don't want to wake up yet and make a fuss.
